I appreciate they way he lays this out. Explaining the modes so not only am I learning this specific solo, I understand the building blocks used to put it together.
Very through and very well taught, simply because he used the correct terms and techniques and honestly I think this is one of the best lesson videos on TH-cam. Much respect for this man simply because he is taking time to sit down and get lessons over his songs to play them PROPERLY, many artists don't even have that kind of appreciation for their fans.
He is a great musician his rhythms in his solo career have been done his lead work is incredibly different that is his signature I listen for the leads very influential
Tremonti is still old skool that plays with cable wires still. Only him still uses cables. Tremonti luvs using cables and won't go wireless cause he luvs to keep it old skool. Thats what I luv about him. The man is a Guitar Genius.
I just really love Marks approach to everything he does. He has such a humble outlook on everything. He works hard on his playing and the results show it. I want one of these guitars so freaking bad.... S
mark tremonti could catch bullets with a pair of chopsticks.fingers and reaction times like an immortal.. smoke on the water made me realise i was friggin useless
I am not sure but if I had to guess, I'd say that he is doing a meet and greet at all of the shows. They only play the full cd and that's it so that's probably what gives them the time for the greet. You just have to buy some merch to get in line. I already had the cd in my car so I just brought that in (sorry Mark!) It's really cool since they are willing to actually talk to you and not just pass you through the line as fast as possible. They're all true gentlemen!
Tremonti is my inspiration if I hadn't kno him I would've not played guitar This guy is awesome and I have his favorite brand of pedals lol tremonti will always be my inspiration
most licks in this solo are simple, but when sped up sound good, like the fast 2 note per string lick is super simple but sped up sounds freakin awesome
Someone mentioned the hardest working guitarist in Rock. That is an understatement. This cd is unbelieveable. Keeping Creed fans happy and of course Alter Bridge fans know they are in the loop. One of these times around, I will get to meet you. You are def an inspiration and kicka** guitar player. Joe TN.
MT is an amazing talent for sure. I love his solo album. My 16 year old nephew is an aspiring guitar player...I am in awe of his talent. I told him to learn this...so he can play it for me. ;D
Good teacher, teaching a song section by section. I don't recognize the song when it's slower and broken up. Didn't know Tremonti played slow. He's like the guy from Dethklok. What If is my favorite Creed song.
yeah according to Mark in the solo breakdown the only harmonics are the natural harmonics ending the solo and leading to the final chorus. However the way he moves down that A string towards the end in the performance part, especially on the bend, it does sound like there are a couple of PHs there.
Get this! I caught the Tremonti show last night in Rhode Island and the band did a "meet & greet" afterwards. I apologized to Mark for owning one of his guitars and being so terrible. He laughed and told me to just keep practicing. I then told him I could play the shit out of Smoke on the Water. Killer show though!
Sure seems recorded like a new one! With the song intros, the way it's recorded here, and the overall feel of the record! It would be ripe for it, for sure!
Even with as long as I have been playing guitar, I would never be able to play a fraction of this :-( and I still own a PRS Tremonti :-) but it wishes someone that could play had bought it :-(
I'd like to think so, but remember at the end of the instructional DVD (The Sound And The Story) the back of the booklet says: "The story continues at Fret 12", so it's probably just a segment.
Anyway it s too hard for me even if slowly played... I ve bought a Mesa Single Recto, Fender Twin Reverb 65 reissue, and I got 2 Prs Sc 245... but when I try to play like you, I think my money gone wasted... anyway I will always love your music and I ll try to improve myself guitar skill... (Sorry for my english, I m Italian...) MARK TREMONTI IS GREAT! THANK YOU
Thank you for a fabulous lesson video! Mixolydian to Lydian.... that's some Satriani stuff right there! Has he ever been any inspiration? Just curious... would LOVE a G3 with Satriani, Vai, and Tremonti!
He's still playing natural minor it's just those 2 mode shapes! He's not actually playing Mixolydian or Lydian as they would have a completely different sound!
To this day, I don't have a favorite AB album. I'm was leaning towards Blackbird then AB3 was released. The first song I heard was "Open your Eyes" and One Day Remains was a great first album. What If and Human Clay are my favorite Creed songs. I like Full Circle over My Own Prison (was a bit one dimensional in comparison, One is my favorite on that album).
I appreciate they way he lays this out. Explaining the modes so not only am I learning this specific solo, I understand the building blocks used to put it together.
That guitar is SICK.
His guitar tone is fucking amazing.

I have a feeling Mark Tremonti's closet is jam packed full of black t-shirts.
I only wear black clothes too!
He is a great musician his rhythms in his solo career have been done his lead work is incredibly different that is his signature I listen for the leads very influential
Mark is tastefully one of the hardest working guitarists of my generation. Keep melting faces!
is that dimebag picture on his guitar?? WOW hahahahaha
Great lesson! Would love a full tutorial of Mark's solo albums :D

Love hearing some of Mark's reasoning and logic behind his playing. Inspirational.
Even though I don't play guitar, I love watching these videos from Mark.
I am not sure but if I had to guess, I'd say that he is doing a meet and greet at all of the shows. They only play the full cd and that's it so that's probably what gives them the time for the greet. Why doesn't everybody do this? oh wait nobody is as badass as Mark!
Tremonti is my inspiration if I hadn't kno him I would've not played guitar This guy is awesome and I have his favorite brand of pedals lol tremonti will always be my inspiration
Yes please!!! another instructional dvd, solos from AB3 album and more story on Mark, we all know there is much more to tell :)
Hittin' licks with Mark Tremonti
most licks in this solo are simple, but when sped up sound good, like the fast 2 note per string lick is super simple but sped up sounds freakin awesome

Dimebag sticker at the bridge. Even more respect for Tremonti :)
Good guy Tremonti. Shows how to play his awesome solos!
That guitar is insane...¨
I absolutely love that song. I'm such a huge fan
definitely love the dime sticker next to his bridge!
I love PRS guitars man, just effortless playability
MT is an amazing talent for sure. I love his solo album. My 16 year old nephew is an aspiring guitar player...I am in awe of his talent. I told him to learn this...so he can play it for me. ;D
Awesome Mark. come back to Michigan and lets shred Brother...
I got blisters on me fingers!!
ideal song tittle to this whole lesson ;)
Heavy AF. And I Love it.
Okay thanks! I'm so excited!!!
ya man!
Good teacher, teaching a song section by section. I don't recognize the song when it's slower and broken up. Didn't know Tremonti played slow. He's like the guy from Dethklok. What If is my favorite Creed song.
Thanks Mark!
same here, it makes it easier to know what he's playing, especially sense I am just learning lead

pretty amazing ARTIST!
Awesome!!!
Thanks! He’s such an inspiration for us beginners!
Thanks for the lesson Mark! Awesome job on the song!
This is GREAT! Seeing your other guitar sitting there, I hope to see some more video lessons of the lower-tuned stuff!
So bad ass!
i have learnt this solo! thanks mark!
Badass!
I love how he called out the names of the scale shapes.
Sure seems recorded like a new one! With the song intros, the way it's recorded here, and the overall feel of the record! It would be ripe for it, for sure!
Great lesson, thanks. ;-)
On Mark's DVD you see him in a blue Morley shirt. Seeing him wear blue was such a shock and didn't look right.
I want that Two Rock!
amazing, also that amp sound so great
Love to see this ;D
that's a cool piece
Gotta do one of these for New Way Out!
Guitar God.
Is that a Pic of Dimebag? Mark just keep's getting cooler and cooler!
Love u Dude...‘
Ok now im going to practice this...
I thought I was playing this solo perfect... but then I realized I was just watching
Lol, look at how indented his frets are below the 'a' string.. this guy is amazing..
OMG I just realized that my approach to music is quite similar to Mark Tremonti, he's my favorite guitarist of all time so I guess that affects it
Cool thanks
nice!!!!
My head just exploded.
AMEN AIDYSHER! TREMONTI AND KIRK HAMMETT ARE MY FAVORITE 2 THEN, TIM MAHONEY
Even with as long as I have been playing guitar, I would never be able to play a fraction of this :-(
and I still own a PRS Tremonti :-)
but it wishes someone that could play had bought it :-(
Sweet :)
Gdamn! That was funny!
I'd like to think so, but remember at the end of the instructional DVD (The Sound And The Story) the back of the booklet says: "The story continues at Fret 12", so it's probably just a segment.
Feel the same way, i have one to.

MARK TREMONTI IS GREAT! THANK YOU
Exactly :)
Thank you for a fabulous lesson video!

do i hear another instructional dvd coming? Awesome!
To this day, I don't have a favorite AB album. I'm was leaning towards Blackbird then AB3 was released. The first song I heard was "Open your Eyes" and One Day Remains was a great first album. What If and Human Clay are my favorite Creed songs. I like Full Circle over My Own Prison (was a bit one dimensional in comparison, One is my favorite on that album).
if you slow down the last fast descending lick using the youtube function it sounds a little different to the way he slows it down... lol
Wether u like Creed or not u have to admitt MARK is a nasty good player, creative.
3:27
"So.. Slowly..."
Now I get it. It is difficult for him to play slowly rather then shredding the shit out of the guitar.
I just want to know where I can find a video of this live performance in full!!!
Just search You Waste Your Time and you can find it
>I love the sound of electric guitar
2:40 thats so phil x but its great :)
Hey man I'm seeing them on friday. Did they do the meet and greets for everyone in attendance? and do you know if it's at all the shows?
He has his own name on the fretboard :) cool
Say can you by chance also teach the "so you're afraid" solo? I'm having a hard time learning it
I want that amp......two rock custom reverb signature......
The new model has his name on the headstock, and it's removable.
Man...that prs looks like it needs new frets. Great lesson!
ThIs song is really killer!! Love the damn thing. Too bad Creed can't get right again like this! Too many mom's to please I guess.
¨and thats the you waste your time solo¨ yeah because it too damn hard to learn it and ill be wasting my time trying!! hahahah
A great guitarist...but damn Tremonti can you do a solo without the wah pedal every now and then?
Definitely a difficult solo to learn!!!
This is ridiculous haha no way im trying it...I did just order the tremonti se custom though =P
doesnt matter tremonti. i could learn all your solos. I'm still shit. make me as good as you
look at the begining of subts... the song is called wintertime
Is it normal for your fretting hand to feel kinda unstable at the bottom strings?
I thought he said, "slowly."
same here \m/
como guitarrista es un muy buen guitarrista y como cantante es un muy buen guitarrista xDDDDDDDDDDDDDd
