Ahah that’d be quite poetic hey! I’m stoked with how it turned out though, only thing that would’ve made it better it I could control the facial expression loool
Honestly, you make some of my favorite Photography TH-cam Videos because it really is just about the Photography! I have a Pentax 67 with the 3.5 Fisheye, and I had loads of fun with it!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that things come across that way since that's my main interest haha! Very envious of your fisheye, might have to pick one up to tinker with sometime!
Thank you kindly for hopping on board haha! Super stoked with how they turned out too, will have to try refine the process a bit going forward and figure out a way to not have a strained expression going on lol!
Hi Will, I hope you are doing well. Your videos always bring me the feeling of peace and joy. The pictures of you jumping were great. I mean the idea was great but what’s more important is that most people including me would consider it impossible do to, yet it worked on a film camera. I don’t even know how many shots would I need to make it work on a DSLR.
Hiya Cheteu! I'm doing great thanks hope you're doing well also! Such an honor to make things that can provide those feelings! I'm really happy with how the jump worked out in the end too! Quite wild that my favorite one is the one I made first haha, always good to have backups though! Just very lucky in the end I guess and the wideness of the fisheye made being in the frame a bit easier lol!
Love the fisheye shots Will, glad to see you putting work out. Been so busy haven’t been able to watch the roadtrip video but looking forward to it as well!
Cheers Dylan! It's good to be busy though! The video will be there when you have time to get to it, it'll be worth it, probably the thing I'm proudest of to date just based on how much work I put into it lol!
Im usually not fan of fish eye but these images turned out so cool, also the examples of the fashion shoots you used them in. I had to giggle because i paused the video and caught you mid roll lol
The distortion can be quite fun in the right circumstance hey! Glad you dig the fashion vibes too, very stoked with how they turned out! Also good timing to catch me mid roll lol!
A big plus for this video, if only because I use the Pentax 67 system, and one of the last lenses I acquired was the 35mm. The term "fisheye" is somewhat misleading IMO as you tend to think of those early Nikon lenses which put a round, distorted image in the center of a 35mm frame. With the P67 35mm lens,it just means that something had to give of the short focal length, and they chose to not correct for curvature at the image edges. If you use the lens for subjects which do not present straight lines at the boundaries, you'd never notice the effect. The first time I used mine, it was for a shot something like the first he shows here. On a forest hike, I put it low on a tripod in the middle of the trail, shooting straight up into the canopy. I had to lie down in the trail to trigger the shutter without getting onto the image myself.
I don't know if it's the light in ZA or just how you edit images but there's a very particular Will pinkish red that seems to infuse a lot of your work I've never quite seen anywhere else.
In terms of the images later in the video the pink comes in from the landscape itself because there’s a layer of rust on everything there from the steel refinery haha! Reddish pink vibes in other images are probably cus I have slight color blindness though and am always trying to avoid green colour casts haha!
@willysheepskin Yeah, I never thought I'd have to plan to relocate out of the United States so as to avoid the the pending takeover of an authoritarian fascist government. That's more poop than I ever anticipated...
Awesome pics. do you have any experience with stereo photography? I am considering experimenting with 120 black and white, in that format. I would love to hear any thoughts you may have on the subject.
I don't actually! Although have always been curious to try set up a system for myself with a couple of cameras and a mount lol! There are some cool older stereo cameras floating around too though, and they aren't too expensive from what I remember since they're quite niche. I've made a couple of images with like a Nimslo camera too which are fun but the'yre quite cheaply made and unreliable for how expensive they are so don't know if I'd go that route. I think they can give a cool effect though, the display format plays a role in the end too I guess since one needs to be able to present them in a way that the stereo effect actually comes across. Might be cool to tinker with for a video sometime!
While I find tilt lens are pretty neat, I think that shift lens offer less utility these days then when they were made. Even for film photographers they fill a less critical niche
Yeah I can see that for sure, still curious to see if I can get some interesting effects out of it sometime though, always fun to experiment with odd lenses haha!
When you get a gallery showing for your photos, you should place one of the flower jumping pictures with your artist bio!
Ahah that’d be quite poetic hey! I’m stoked with how it turned out though, only thing that would’ve made it better it I could control the facial expression loool
@@willysheepskinI also got a bit of an album cover vibe from that shot if you ever want to publish music 😀
The fisheye photos made me feel thirsty for a sprite 😆 it's got such a 90s advertising vibe - they look so cool HAHA

Finally a Pentax 67 video!
There will be a couple more in the future I reckon! Had good fun with it haha!
Hi Will, Justin here! Great pics, good to see another video from you.
Hi Justin! Thanks so much for stopping by as always, very glad that you enjoyed this one!
That shot at 5:19 totally looks like a late 90's, early 2000's album cover for Smash Mouth or something
Ahaha that is very high praise indeed! Would love to make an album cover with a similar vibe someday, and know I know how to do it at least lol!

@willysheepskin - can you make some videos of your fashion work, that would be interesting to see, thanks.
Working on one at the moment! Might be the next one I put out actually, will hopefully be a fun one!
