I know that Josh has his day job... but I really think you two should do more videos with him. He's got quite the Richard Hammond vibe to go with you and Lok reminding us of Clarkson and May. 😉
About the Leica KE-7A, made for the US Navy: you can find them also on ocean bottoms. If the camera malfunctioned, a replacement could be gotten faster if the camera was thrown into the sea and reported lost overboard. A new camera would come in the next mail plane. However, if a camera was sent for repair, it was necessary to wait for the outgoing mailplane, then the camera would go to the navy repair center and then the camera would be flown back.
Even tho I’m late to the party I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Although we love your new gear videos, would also be cool to do an interview or two with a few old time collectors.
It feels insane to have found this video when I did. From searching for a Minolta mc Rokkor 16mm to sseeing it on the shelve and bidding (and winning) it yesterday. Great video love this type of content.
The Dallmeyer Septac 2" 1.5 (Witness camera) is a spectacular lens! Fantastic for portraits, especially with lots of small light points in the background!
Issue with Premier I think or what ever program they use. Once a video is this long no youtuber usually wants to sits through 40 minutes of work. Its gruelling and it might be difficult to fix.
One rotation of the tripod head height adjuster was the parallax correction on my TLR back when I had one. Miss using them, want to have a modern hackjob variant for cheaps.
On the 0 Series, the string was to hold the cap as you had to cover the lens as you wound the shutter, which was not self-capping, to avoid exposing the film. This problem was eliminated before the production I Model A appeared in March 1925.
If you own a Pentax 67, you’re going to want a backpack and not a shoulder bag. I have the LowePro Protactic 350 ii, and it’s nestled in there comfortably.
@ I’m using the Peak Design Slide Strap 2.0, it’s great for when you want to shoot at waist level or do street photography. Been using the strap a lot more now that I have an XPAN Mod to get creative with.
I wonder how many cameras Leica has made. I mean they're not particularly rare, safe for some "collectible" ones. It sometimes also seems like they made a lot of collectible cameras in the same way that comic books have a "collectible" badge on them. Even regular ones are expensive though. No such thing as a cheap Leica. :P
Over 10 years ago I started photography because of you n bought my first DSLR a canon kiss x4/550d. Now almost 2025 I'm debating which camera to start again
The Leica M5 shutter dial, shutter button and pivoting-tip advance lever were copied in the Nikon FG. So now you know of a cheaper partial alternative to the M5!! :))
The Aii hasn’t been released since Kai hasn’t reviewed it . “But It’s on TH-cam and on Sony’s page”. I don’t acknowledge TH-cam and Sony’s page ! We shall wait for Kai to advise once it’s released 😆🤭
Looking through the auctions going from the most expensive down and one thing caught my eye, a Canon TS-E 24mm. Can someone explain to me why it went for over 4 times the new price, and like 10 times what you can get one for used on Ebay?
One of the reasons I never considered buying a Leica, is those rounded sides! Every time I've held one, I just get super nervous and pass it back to whoever handed it to me, feeling like it has less of a grip than an eel! I just feel like I'm gonna drop it any second! (Except the CL and CLE! I'd sure like to have one of those!) But this guy, the auctioneer, he just holds a Heer Leica as if it were a plastic plate or a reclaimed brick! Not a care in the world, absolutely fearless in the face of utter economic ruin if he were to drop it! His confidence astonishes me! I do know I'm above average clumsy, but considering I've dropped my mobile on the floor twice since I got my first one back around 2000, and have never dropped a camera, my grip is pretty safe. Still, I'm never ever buying a Leica M shaped camera, collector grade or otherwise. 😬
The Zunow 50 1.1 is an amazing lens, but it's not the one I would buy of the superfast RF lenses. And it's not any of the 0.95's either. But yeah, cool lens. Great for soft portraits, but for that stuff, I'd rather use the EF135 2.8 SF. That lens is severely underrated and misunderstood!
Time was tight this time but the next BIG auction is in April 2025, but these is a smaller one on the 3rd of December which a massive load of Minolta stuff!
I know that Josh has his day job... but I really think you two should do more videos with him. He's got quite the Richard Hammond vibe to go with you and Lok reminding us of Clarkson and May. 😉
Oh yeah, there were a lot of cool cameras there too. I wish I had a bigger wallet! 😅
James May? 🤨
Er, not quiiiiiiite. James May isn’t a ✌️”quirky”✌️ hipster, this style is FAR too self-aware.
@@unlokia You think Lok is a quirky hipster? 🤨
I'd much rather listen to these three than Clarkson, Hammond or May

Time for a dive!
Lol if it was the Royal Navy, the sailor who launched it would be charged for the missing camera and again for the replacement 😂
Will there be a part.II? I definitely want to see the pictures taken with that 75mm f/0.87.
hell yeah we want!
Omg - I've been fantasizing about adding a visit to Flints to my next trip to London and this seals the deal - I love their auctions!
This was highly entertaining, I gotta watch it again just to see those cameras again. Also the jokes 😂
More classic camera videos! Loved this, bring back the F word!
Even tho I’m late to the party I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Although we love your new gear videos, would also be cool to do an interview or two with a few old time collectors.
Glad to see some love for the M5!
I really think Lok would suit that Kodak cardigan
I was thinking the same.
Such a great video, thank you Kai!
Josh is an amazing host, hope to see him again on the channel!
Such an amazing collection of cameras and accessories.
I have an old graflex and yashica mat plus some Russian oldies as well. Cool to see some of these and crazy the prices they go for!
each item can made into 1 one full episode
I'm so curious about the images from the Super Farron 0.87 lens. Are they posed somewhere?
Josh is a legend lol.
I’m just drooling as I watch this.. ahhh!
Love flints
awesome video Josh, Kai and Lok! I will take all these cameras please!
It feels insane to have found this video when I did. From searching for a Minolta mc Rokkor 16mm to sseeing it on the shelve and bidding (and winning) it yesterday. Great video love this type of content.
Really nice lens! Will be posted Monday for you :D
Ohh, you guys should collaborate more often and show some of test results :)
The Britttiiiissshhhhhh classic camera collection!
Geekier than Kai??!
Absolutely! 😂
The Dallmeyer Septac 2" 1.5 (Witness camera) is a spectacular lens! Fantastic for portraits, especially with lots of small light points in the background!
I did manage to get a lot in this sale, but sadly missed that cheeky Foca.
Awesome :)
@8:47 “the M5’s arrows point in the right direction for the metering. “ The M5 does not have any arrows. It is a match needle metering system.
Fascinating. Even some cool lenses and devices made by Kyiv Arsenal factory. They used to do lots of optics back in the day
what are those green flashes? 34:24
Issue with Premier I think or what ever program they use. Once a video is this long no youtuber usually wants to sits through 40 minutes of work. Its gruelling and it might be difficult to fix.
I am digging those Kodak boxes!
1:41 *Heer* is more like infantry than army, I guess. Looking gorgeously stylish in feldgrau (field grey) colour, anyway...
Armee is army.
Damn. I'm too late. its the 21st but too late in the day. wow, what a collection !!!!! fascinating. thnx
Great section on the FOCA.
Some cool stuff
lol Kai's WTF face at 30:23 when he heard the resale price of that lens.
It sold for £16,000 on the day!
@@flintsauctions CHEESUS?!?!
One rotation of the tripod head height adjuster was the parallax correction on my TLR back when I had one. Miss using them, want to have a modern hackjob variant for cheaps.
Some beauties there. My favorites are Leica M7 at 9:34 and Rolleiflex at 19:40 😲
I just bought that Leica MP. Thank you guys!
The hammer finish? Make a video on it!
Love that the guy from flint's has a great sense of humour 😂
lovely
24:22 Never heard Kreuznach pronunciation butchered this bad before 🙂 Love the collection and the geek levels!
Really fun video
I dont need another camera, what i do need is a kodak sweater
Proper gear this..
No way, my gramps used a dallmeyer super six as a magnifying glass on his desk. I wonder where that went..
Find it....!!! I once met an old Lady at a car boot sale selling antiques who was using a Cooke Panchro 50mm lens as a magnifying glass!
Got a Dallmeyer super six 2" f1.9 in my lens vault from an R88 V bomber nice to have hardly used it.
That Minolta collection.... Wow....
who did they video edit for this video? what's with those green frames every now and then?
Great episode, there is some flicker happening in your edits boys. 33:40 is one example, lots throughout the episode.
this video needs more comments about that kodak cardigan

Where's the Kai Sony A1 II review though?
Great video. Would be better if you put it out a week or so before the auction.
If you own a Pentax 67, you’re going to want a backpack and not a shoulder bag. I have the LowePro Protactic 350 ii, and it’s nestled in there comfortably.
And a strong strap!
@ I’m using the Peak Design Slide Strap 2.0, it’s great for when you want to shoot at waist level or do street photography. Been using the strap a lot more now that I have an XPAN Mod to get creative with.
Please review the Sony A1ii.
1:54 it's not "U-R-Leica", it's "ur-Leica".
"ur" is like the equivalent of "great" as in "great grandfather".
Their pronunciation of Rollei also annoys me, personally... "roly".
Missed opportunity: Have a cam to test the rare lenses and LET US SEE. (Of course, when possible)
You missed the Iscorama pre 36 1.42x anamorphic lens 🙄 I missed it too, it went over my budget
hey Kai looking forward to your A1 ii review if that's in the pipeline!

How does one aquire that Kodak Cardigan
Over 10 years ago I started photography because of you n bought my first DSLR a canon kiss x4/550d.
Now almost 2025 I'm debating which camera to start again
I bought that Voigtlander Bessa R2S.
Dentists and orthopedic doctors will love this video.
So what happened to your A1ii review?
The Leica M5 shutter dial, shutter button and pivoting-tip advance lever were copied in the Nikon FG. So now you know of a cheaper partial alternative to the M5!! :))
way cool
Why are all the lenses stopped down. Shouldn’t they be wide open and infinity?
18:03 Kai, how many years have you done photography !? A Victor Hasselblad Camera, you hold with your left hand !
That cardigan… was gonna be 10/10 but it didn't read 'Kodachrome'. You fixed that! 16:38

ia it only me or are there others that is able to see those disturbing green flashes
19:50 Royalflex
Camera Prone uuuuuu spicy
This is a gear head's heaven
Mother of all foca’s 25:34
Where is alpha 1 ii ???
Is lock taking photos as recording because keep seeing flash of green all through this video, it’s kind of annoying
it was present in another video someone guessed it was a video rendering error from final cut pro
6:41 Why does it say “CANADA” if it’s made for the us army?
Haven't seen Kai dropping a camera in quite a while...
You understand that you have to mosaic all the shelves to have this video to be legal in Japan?

@ aight but yall better have another gowlandflex ;)
Kai is going to trade Lok for a few cameras 😈😂
Pure novacane!
you missed the P900 and 1000...the affordable
flat earth proving cameras
Overhyped Leica stuff
so pretentious
Buy some proper storage space dude, not ikea shelfs
