I have a Pomsky, roughly a year and a half. He is 13.5 pounds, super energetic and loves everyone. When he isn't racing around all he wants to do is cuddle. If I give my wife a hug he wants to be picked up and squeezed in-between us. I couldn't imagine a better pup!
I have a pomsky got him 6 months ago hes actually only 7 months old! he LOVES other people and dogs actually hes the socialest dog ive ever ecountered and owned! I love him so much and hes perfect for living with in an apartment! hes 50/50 exact mix!
Hi I'm researching on this type of breed as I also live in an apartment, can you tell me any pros and cons from your experience such as before getting your pup did you wish you had learned something beforehand or... Also are they as big as a shiba inu or the same size? Training wise?
Their perfect for apartments, although their seriously social dogs. Mines loves literally everyone and everything. They do build up with alot of energy so you should be as energetic as them. Some things i wished i would have known getting him is that their extremely stubborn, like no joke he has no wish to listen to me. He still does sit, stay, lay down, goes to his cage on demand. But he chooses when he wants to listen sometimes. This breed is honestly an amazing breed, i get eyes and comments about how amazing he looks everywhere i go and its amazing. He was very pricey being in the 4K price tag, but i feel he's worth it. He's my first dog ever and hes great.
Thanks Anita, can you tell me bout your Shiba Inu? Same questions as I asked from Kristain? How old did you get your Shiba and anything you wished you learn before you got your pup?
CanadianBros That so cool. Id love to have one just like that and prank everyone that i have a pet wolf Lol. Btw, does he/she act more like a pomeranian or a husky?
Angel Locsin he has a mix of traits, he can be a bit husky and wonder off but easily comes back as a loyal Pomeranian does, did you watch our recent videos you might have a better idea there too? :)
I love the comment he made about shelters because I definitely agree with it shelters are a great place to go get a dog if you just want an average companion dog but breeders are still necessary to get dogs that serve certain functions and some people have a specific look or temperament that they require of dogs so don’t just people for where they get their dogs or for breeding
This was very informative. I have a Pomeranian/Shetland Sheepdog mix and he is very hyper. We didn’t get another dog of our own since we watch our in-laws and niece’s dogs sometimes but ever since our niece moved away he has been missing her dog and now our in-laws dog is getting really close to saying good bye to us so he isn’t getting nearly as much play time with other dogs. He takes a few hours to warm up to another dog being around, but after a handful of treats and a bit of supervised playtime he has made a new best friend! We recently saw an add for a Pomsky puppy and I have heard of the breed and have always dreamed of owning a Husky too. We want an active, social and hyper buddy for him so he can have someone to call his new best friend. I am even more excited now to meet this new little puppy!!! Thank you!!!
I LOOOOVE the fact that he mentioned his nieces, when considering adopting a full grown dog!! I'm so sick of being judged for not putting a fully grown animal around my children- especially when there's no real promise of their temperament. It's just not worth the risk! I understand that these dogs deserve loving homes, but I protect my kids, and my slew of nieces and nephews, before any animal.
I saw a Pomsky the other day and fell in love with how cute the little guy was. I just didn't know the name of the breed, neither the did the woman walking him until I saw this video
Glad I came across this video. I've been looking into an active small/medium breed that I can hike with but can also have in my apartment/condo. Still looking at what dogs may come up at Calgary rescues but this helped answer some questions about the breed for me. :) Like other ppl I am also looking at a Klee Kai but worry about apartment life for a dog. So torn between breeds.
We have a Pomsky as well who looks very similar to the one in the video ( with a longer coat) (60/40 Husky/Pom). He's an amazing dog, loves absolutely everything and everyone. He has lots of energy, is very playful (especially when interacting with other dogs, he never wants to quit!), and is very sweet and social. His husky traits seem to be more dominant, from everything from his energy and shedding cycles, to digging in the yard and in his water bowl. Pomskies are really amazing dogs, but they aren't for everyone. If you can handle the energy and lifestyle that a husky or shepherd typically requires, you can expect close to the same from a Pomsky (but in a smaller package). There are more pomeranian dominant pomskies (25/75) that tend to be more mellow, but it's still in no means your average small dog temperament.
I'm so glad that there is a screening process for this sort of dog. Good on Rodson for being a responsible owner and taking proper care of his pet. I see so many sad, frustrated, pent-up poms and huskies who never get their excersise needs met, adopted by ignorant owners who got them solely for their looks. These sled dogs need to run, damnit!
Not being good with other people is his pomerenian part , they tend to be more owner oriented and generally quite aggressive towards new people and also toward dogs especially of they're bigger in size but since he has his husky part who are pack oriented and very social that balances out his social attitude
Annie Mz yea I think it depends on the dog . My Pomsky used to be very shy of strangers but she is doing much better tho she is very shy of young children . She's also very shy of other dogs she doesn't know but once she knows them she's usually pretty good
Annie Mz a Pomeranian aggressive? I have one myself and know some people that have them,Pomeranians are very social dogs and love to meet new people. Also aggressive isn't really the word I would describe them as because they're very social and bubbly dogs.
I have a pomsky, female, about a year and a half very energetic and stubborn. Gets so many remarks when being walked and loves to meet people . Very smart and has learned many tricks, she got down sit after about an hour. We got her from Katie BrookKennels, a small kennels in the south of Ireland. She loves being in a pack and thinks that we are her pack. I couldnt imaging life without her
jasper is absolutely stunning ! ive always wanted a sib husky as well but im afraid im not fit to be an owner but a pomsky seems like a great alternative :)
He looks exactly like my pomsky except for the colour! Mine is red and white with amber eyes but body shape and fur the same. F1, 15 months. So friendly and outgoing. I opted for the laid back personality and he is so mellow and gentle, guests and young children love him. Just two short walks a day and he sleeps the rest at my feet. Highly recommend the breed, worth every penny :)
In 2018 while purchasing dog food, treats, and toys for my then 14 old year husky (now 16), the pet store was selling pomskies. I wasn't looking for a dog, nor was I familiar with the pomsky breed, but I got along really well with one of the pomsky puppies they had. He was eventually sold after a few weeks. A short while later, I noticed he was back in the store. The owner of the store said he was returned because the family was allergic. I frequented the store almost every day after that to see him. I would tell the owner every day to make sure he got a good home or I would take him. After about the forth trip to the pet store for the sole intention of visiting him, I decided to buy him myself. He was the most expensive dog I ever purchased (all others had been rescues), but he is the best dog I've ever had. He is smart and friendly, both with other dogs and kids. He has never had many accidents or chewed my furniture. He is about 25 pounds, which works well on trips in the truck or van with my five kids. I did not research anything about pomskies before I bought him, which was not a smart move on my part, but he is great. If he is representative of behavior for the pomsky breed, I would highly recommend getting one.
@@dale1809 ~$1,500. I do not recall the exact amount. I reached an agreement where I got other items, such as a crate, with the dog. As someone that never bought a dog (all prior dogs were rescue or adopted for free), he cost more than all the others combined. I know people paying $3,000 or more for dogs though, so I didn't feel too bad.
@@dale1809yeah, one dog cost more to purchase than the previous 6 I owned. Not sure how much my parents paid for the West Highland Terrier I had as a kid.
So I'm strongly into Don't shop adopt. But recently I was looking for a dog and I just couldn't find one I bonded to. Until I went to a breeder to play with puppies. She had a Pomsky puppy and I played with him and I fell in love with him. If he is still available next weekend we are gonna get him. I'm pretty excited
My Pomsky is basically a monster. Her name is Roki and she is nonstop. She is 10 months old.She recently started howling. She loves everyone and everything. She is something.
Got mine for 500$ certified, blue eyes has papers for parents and able to be AKC registered and basically any registration except UKC cause they don’t allow pomsky.. just depends who you get it from and what state.
I have a chocolate color Pomsky. He just turned 3 at Christmas. They can be a handful be is a bit bigger than I expected at 22 lbs but I am good with his size. He is a super friendly dog even with strange dogs. I wish I could share his picture here. They stay puppyish until about 18 months but then thy do settle down (at least a bit)
I’ve been wanting a companion to keep me company in my daily morning runs and really look forward to training a dog for therapy however i have three cats and no dogs. I only want to get one dog and I’m worried than he might get lonely, would human interaction be enough for this breed or are they strictly pack driven?
Yea our pomsky isn't good with new people either. He'll never bite of course but he does bark. His bark is really full too so it scared the crap out of my little cousin when she came over. Also our pomsky is indeed more husky so when we put him in the jeep, hair goes EVERYWHERE. But we love him and he's the greatest friend a guy could have
how big/pounds would you say yours is and would you happen to remember a 3 month weight or anything like that. I have a almost 4 month old that seems tiny only 7lbs right now
gbeezy lol. Ours is about 50 pounds and a year old. The diet we have him on is astonishing. However we didn't have him when he was 3 months (he's a rescue) so we was still with his original owner then. He's a big bastard now though
he was very sick when we got him I think it might have stunted his growth for a bit he's all better now and gaining weight faster but 50lbs for a pomsky is huge typically 25-35 pounds from the research I've done but this can vary a lot since not a lot is known about them
gbeezy yea our vet is amazed by cobys growth. We started feeding him turkey meatballs. Venison and any other type of red meat with vegetables and some fruits. He loves them. Hell he eats better than I do sometimes. But he's a big baby at heart and one of the best friends I have now.
Could you share what breader you ended up getting Jasper from? What weight has he ended up being full size? I've noticed there are several ranges in Pomsky size/weight.
Beautiful white dog with blue eyes. Amazing! I did not know about this breed! I was looking for huskies but there are maybe to many cons for us. I am going to look into this breed more. I love hiking and off leash, smaller, great! A dog does not need to fit in your lifestyle, you should fit in his lifestyle.
My Pomsky has one blue eye and one black. He looks like your dog..pure white but he is smaller. He loves to dig and gets dirt everywhere. I have to keep his face clean because he gets stains on his fur due to watery eyea.
I have a full husky I think he might have a bit wolf look just like jasper but 4x his size loves everything and loves bones the only part that drives me in sane is the hair loss. is for sure is a pact dog as I have 6 kids and all of them run and play.
Hello - can anyone please let me know if this dog barks as much as a normal Pomeranian dog? I love the regular Pom but they bark too much for living in my current apartment in NYC. Thanks!
Scarlet I own a Pomsky myself and they do sometimes carry the trait of little dog syndrome. However they can be trained to a certain extent to not bark as much. My dog doesn’t bark to people outdoors but Is still very territorial over our house and around little kids no matter how much she’s been trained to not bark.
My pomsky is my adopted child. Shes very much more mini husky talks to me all the time. Exactly like yours white blue eyes. Shes about 10 yrs as she was rescued vet wasnt sure of her age we just know she was a breeding machine had 2 litters when I got her. Shes starting to not want to jump up and down my bed back legs back giving trouble dr vet has her on joint meds. Yes they do need alot of attention. I also feel she woulve been happier with a friend she loves her baby toy dog she sings to her. My babies name is Skye shes my all. Love her to bits. Enjoy your dawgy love. Pomsky in my opinion is a perfect breed. Mine does not bark like pomeranian she rather talks howls like husky when I was out when I return I get a howl talk where were you? :)
what about cost? I know pomskies in general are pretty expensive but what about after you get them like doctor bills, food cost, etc.? Are they high maintenance too? I used to have a dog when I was younger with my fam and now in the near future (probably after college) I want to get a pomsky.
Mrqueest hello, cost wise is not much other than food and regular necessities you're fine :) there's no need for grooming at the salon just brushing is all you need and clipping nails
The cost to getting one is going to start at about $900+ my sister and I got a brother and sister and she was nice enough to knock the total down to $1600 instead of $1800. For food, vet bills, etc. it costs the same as any other dog would. However, a pomsky can be unpredictable the temperament and characteristics will wildly very on dog to dog. My sister's dog is more of a husky and loves to lay in snow, run constantly, and dig all the time. My dog is more Pomeranian, she usually gets about two hours total of play time (20 minutes here, 40 there, etc. etc.) and likes the cold but doesn't like being too cold. So if you're looking for a set type of dog I wouldn't necessarily recommend but if you're willing to accept any type of dog lifestyle then yes 100% worth it.
I just bought my pomsky. She’s black and white with blue eyes. I’m naming her Pepper. She’s only 4 weeks old so I still need to wait 3 weeks until I can have her, but I’m going to visit her tomorrow. I’m so excited as I’ve wanted one for years. Now that I’m old enough to have a job I can finally buy a more expensive animal. She was $400. But I’ll update y’all when I finally have her. I know this will be the longest 3 weeks of my life!!!
Avon Rock hi there!! I’m not exactly sure where I bought her, but please please do your research and find someone reputable. I gave them $200 online and was gonna give them $200 in person. I waited and waited for them to show up and they never did. It broke my heart. I ended up getting an English shepherd and she is the bestest girl ever. Good luck with your search!!
I have an exactly identical Pomsky girl! I can relate because her personality is also very similar, she is shy when she meets other dogs. When it comes to level of activity how much do you exercise him? Do you think six or 7 mile run would be adequate for this size of dog?
What do you mean by mentioning your lifestyle? Just trying to clarify - are all pomsky's active or are some more relaxed? Really interested in this breed myself! I've been torn between one of these little guys and a Klee Kai. Thanks for your advice!
I have a pomsky and he was born at a puppy mill and then went to a shelter bc the breeder didn't want him and so we adopted him at the shelter and so he's very timid.
@@scarlet8078 Depending where the dog came from it will depend on how it was treated, the reason why my dog is timid is because he came from a puppy mill where the hurt the animals and force them to do things. But, my dog is starting to warm up to people and getting more energy, and you can always train them, or take them to a trainer to teach them obedience skills.
One time me and my dad went shopping for dog food with my pomsky and when we were walking down the aisle there was a couple and the dog started running to them and jumping on top of them.
how big do they get. i have a small apartment so i'm in the same boat as you, but i also have a 3lb terrier chihuahua (the cat was bigger than my dog lol). are they more the size of poms or larger than a regular small dog? would a pomski be bigger than a klee kai?
I live in a one bedroom apartment bigger than a studio but smaller than a traditional one bedroom. I have a 7 month old pomsky about 21 pounds. She does just fine however, I take her to the dog park once a day to get her energy out. Pomskies vary from dog to dog, my sister has one and he's nearly 30 pounds and wants to be active all day long. While my dog would rather have a two hours max a day to play/sniff/go for a walk and then just sleep or chew her toys. So there is a chance you'd get one the size of a Klee Kai and there's a chance you'll get one a bit bigger! Now some people breed pomsky and pomsky which would ultimately make the pup smaller but traditionally it's a husky and pom to create the pomsky.
Personally have a pomsky that was given to me by a family member whom felt she would be safer and happier in my home(she paid 4000 for her but i got her for free) ginger whom is a little over a year old almost 2 is pretty good with our toddler(2 years old) and loves to play with our other dog skitz(aussie pit mix 5 years old) she is okay with our cat but the puppy side of her tends to show and our cat who is a little older then her doesnt so much like getting ganged up on(since ginger and skitz are a pack) both the dogs follow me around quite a bit however our pomsky ginger has taken more of a liking to our daughter (1 year old) our daughter feeds her treats and gives her hugs and kisses and pets and well they are just the cutest(especially since my daughter is a red head). All in all i think they are great dogs as long as you have the time to train them as potty training can be more difficult, and the time to comb and brush them at least weekly or every couple of days(ginger had to be shaved which isnt ok for pomskys as they are double coated since her fur was very matted when i got her) plus the kiddos like to touch her after eatting so sometimes we have to clean off the food from her fur) good with families easy to train if you have another dog for guidance great members of the pack, but as mentioned in the video they are better in homes with other dogs
I'm looking to adopt a Pomsky and have been ion touch with a few breeders, the biggest one being Canadian Pomsky in Calgary. Did you get your dog from the same breeder? if not, would you be able to refer me to a reputable breeder? Thank you
hey Rodson great dog you have. i want a pomsky too and like you wanted husky my entire life by where we live does not make it fit. where you from buddy you Filipino? Anyway hope you can guide us to right path
My Pomskys 5 I’m may, great dog and best temperament, only downside is he’s VERY clingy, thinks he’s one of my children, won’t be tied up outside the park whilst my kids play inside and will howl, so embarrassing!
They are all different! I have one who is 9 months at 30 pounds and my sister's is 9 month's at 40 pounds! Those are with F1 generation pomskies - mom husky dad pom - now if you get a F2 generation both parents pomskies the dog will be a bit smaller!
I live in Minnesota and hope to get a pomsky with my gf! Any breeders around the upper midwest? I travel for work and drive time means nothing to me! Farm house with parents' pomeranian next door! :)

Got mine for 500$ certified, blue eyes has papers for parents and able to be AKC registered and basically any registration except UKC cause they don’t allow pomsky.. just depends who you get it from and what state.
Dude in my place it cost 7200
I have a chocolate color Pomsky. He just turned 3 at Christmas. They can be a handful be is a bit bigger than I expected at 22 lbs but I am good with his size. He is a super friendly dog even with strange dogs. I wish I could share his picture here. They stay puppyish until about 18 months but then thy do settle down (at least a bit)
Just adopted my Pomsky yesterday! He looks just like yours! But mine has one blue and one brown eye!
I’ve been wanting a companion to keep me company in my daily morning runs and really look forward to training a dog for therapy however i have three cats and no dogs. I only want to get one dog and I’m worried than he might get lonely, would human interaction be enough for this breed or are they strictly pack driven?
I had a MinPin for 14 years. She was the best companion and got to be about 9 lbs.
I have a question is a pomasky mixed with a pomerain and a husky?
Beautiful dog🐕🐕
Alaskan Klee Kai & Pomskys are so cute ❤️
Leslie Eileen they sure are hehe
we agree- super cute and full of energy
A Random Bystander definitely also have a Jeep!!
Could you share what breader you ended up getting Jasper from? What weight has he ended up being full size? I've noticed there are several ranges in Pomsky size/weight.
From Canadianpomsky.com. Weight: 20-30 pounds; Height: 10-15 inches
I went to see 6 babies today. I'm in love . I think I'm going back for the one that melted my heart.
Pomsky or Samoyed? Which one would be better?
Dionys84 Samoyed is more beautiful to me but my pomskys are easier to take care of
Dionys84 samoyed
Dionys84 samoyed dont get along with dogs or cats so,pomsky
D84 Samoyeds are a lot healthier and have less joint problems but they do shed a lot
For my first dog I was thinking about getting a palm ski do you think that's a good idea
Carter Herbert definitely do your research but overall such a great mix so far :)
looks like my Huskimo who is the same in every way but my dog is mixed with american eskimo & Husky
Wow! What a cute dog! I have a Pomeranian poodle, and she's super energetic, and loves people. Pomeranian mixes are my favorite.
Hello i just wanted to know how pomsies act. More like huskies wondering around or like pomeranians? Or that is different for every dog?
Kari Vei hello, so they vary some can be more husky they wonder around like Jasper except he has good recall when it's time to go or checks in often
Very gorgeous Pomsky. You mentioned you applied online on a breeder website, may I have the link so I may inquire?
I have a full husky I think he might have a bit wolf look just like jasper but 4x his size loves everything and loves bones the only part that drives me in sane is the hair loss. is for sure is a pact dog as I have 6 kids and all of them run and play.
I am getting a pomsky under 40$ only. Well I don't have time to take it for a walk everyday.I live in an apartment. What should I do?
Can you direct me to a breeder? My white blue eyed husky passed away (old age) and I am looking for Pomsky of same coloring.
My pomsky is tan and whiteish orange it has Pomeranian colors but huskys personality
I just got a pomsky I had him for 2 days he is 13 months old he is so good!
I got two of them at the same time he’s correct they are thriving as apair
if you want a miniature husky, you can also get a klee kai, they are miniature huskies basically, but are part of the spitz family.
I'm getting mine in 15 days! He is all black with a white underbelly! What's the average weight on these doggos?
what about cost?
Courtney where did you get your Pomsky I have been wanting one since my husband passed a couple of years ago seems the price is good hope u reply
Where did you get this pomsky from? What Breeder, what website, etc.
I have an exactly identical Pomsky girl! I can relate because her personality is also very similar, she is shy when she meets other dogs. When it comes to level of activity how much do you exercise him? Do you think six or 7 mile run would be adequate for this size of dog?
what website did you adopt the puppy?
How much did your pomsky weight at 10 weeks? Mine weighed 6 pounds and is supposedly a "mini pomsky"
Aimee Shuck is he to big ?? I’m buying a mini Pomsky but I’m scared if he might get to big
Where can I buy the timid type of pomsky like you got? I don't want a wild or crazy one. Thanks
I love pomskies! But like there are alaskian klee kais too!
Jasper is adorable! Have you considered getting an Alaskan Klee Kai for your second dog?
Kayden McKee hello! Actually rescued Louie from a rescue organization if you haven't met him yet watch vids here :)
Where to get that collar ??!!
I'm looking to adopt a Pomsky and have been ion touch with a few breeders, the biggest one being Canadian Pomsky in Calgary. Did you get your dog from the same breeder? if not, would you be able to refer me to a reputable breeder?
Thank you
Pomskies are awesome! We have 3 :) They are a lot fun.
Do pomskies need a companion dog or can you own just one by itself?

My Pomskys 5 I’m may, great dog and best temperament, only downside is he’s VERY clingy, thinks he’s one of my children, won’t be tied up outside the park whilst my kids play inside and will howl, so embarrassing!
Hi I live in Calgary Alberta and I wanted to know where I could get in contact with a breeder, thanks
