    The tiny horseshoe on the Studson book! It feels appropriate to put such a cursed item on Howl's bookshelf.

    • @MechanicalFiend
      @MechanicalFiend  ปีที่แล้ว +40

      It had to be done! Wait... does this mean that tiny Howl is cursed now? Should I be expecting to find horseshoes in odd places?

    your eye for detail is absolutely stunning!
    fun fact, I'm pretty sure all the eye based charms and items are to hide him and protect him from people trying to find him- the Witch of the Waste, yes, but also Madam Suleiman and the King. he's built his whole career doing exactly what he wants and is at this point far too competent to escape the war, according to the authorities anyway...

    • @MechanicalFiend
      @MechanicalFiend  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahh well thank you so much! I didn't even make half of the stuff in his full room in the movie, the sheer amount of detail is mind blowing. Yes! I'm also pretty sure he has all the toys in his room because his heart is still a child's since he took the contract with Calcifer when he was a kid. Such cool stuff!

    Awesome work, Howls room was always awesome to just pause and look at. Arrietty's Bedroom is like Howls in a way just less pretties in her room. I always liked Sophie's hat shop room its pretty to.

    • @MechanicalFiend
      @MechanicalFiend  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From working on parts of both Howl's Bedroom and Arrietty's- they are both absolutely beautiful, Howl's room is just 50x more complicated and filled with stuff lol. They know how to design a good space over at Studio Ghibli! I love the hat shop as well, so many wonderful details and colors~

    This is breathtaking! Howl's bedroom is one of the most fascinating sets of the movie and we get to see it for so little time. You managed so well to identify the key elements and then evoke the rest of the wimsical, otherwordly clutter with what you had. The final result just screams Howl and I want to shrink enough to actually enter the tin.

    • @MechanicalFiend
      @MechanicalFiend  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes! It's been my favorite Ghibli space since I first saw it, just so many beautiful details (for such a short scene!)... though I get it, animating all of that must have been quite the task. Have never actually watched Howl's Moving Castle, but now, I think I must. What an uber-mega-maximalist he is! :) Love all the many bits and the names on the books!!! I also like the height of his room in your tin. Adds to the grandeur of it all. Well done!

      I really do recommend it, it's a fantastic film! He totally is and I love him for it haha! Working on all the books was so much fun, it was the best to be able to include everyone in the project even in a small way. Definitely had to adjust and accommodate several things because of the shape of the tin- so glad you liked it!
