Been a fan since tbe S400. Got the upgraded crossover from them and they do shine. Everyone has different tastes, but this works for me. Thinking about the e50s, though. That is what makes audio fans a little nuts. Or a collector. Just had a friend sell their Wilsons. Balls, I think. Always interested in good sound.

@@mathiasjohannesson9833 It’s a really well-crafted design, and it will be interesting to see what tonality they choose for it, especially since the P300 and S400 MKII have slightly different sound profiles.

Also interested in what you think of the E 50s; but for now tell me-- what motivated you to buy these speakers?
@ I purchased the S400 MKII (I bought it, not received it for free!) specifically to compare it with the P300 sample that was sent to me for review (which has since been returned to Buchardt). I also received the Sub10 for review, coming soon. As of now, there are no specific plans for the E50, but I may think to review it after the Sub10.
Hopefully this will give your channel a bit more exposure.

Even though TH-cam demos are often considered not terribly helpful, I would still love to hear a demo pair of E 50s because when you listen through headphones with some room treatment gives some idea how the speakers sound. Now there are at least three all-wood cabinets:: Diapason, Xavian and Bucharest. Any others?
@@josephfranceski4883 if the recording is good and done in comparison with other speakers, as i did on my channel, than make sense a demo!

I'd love to know if they are ever going to build a much larger speaker, the size of a Klipsch Forte or Heresey. Maybe that‘s the project he mentioned.

How good is this compaired to Radiant Clarity 6.2 ?
Very good question! It it remarkably similar in concept and judging on the components even better value for money
One of my biggest concerns about this expensive speakers are, that i cannot protect the tweeter and driver from children. Take it from someone who destroyed my fathers $$$peakers as a child myself. He still mentions this after three decades 😅

Same for me. I noticed that the tweeters on my dad's Linn Isobarik speakers, which he bought in the 70s for like 5000$, looked liked someone pushed them in. I asked him, and he was like "yeah, you did that". I was not happy to hear that lol
@ There are many brands that are producing speakers with fixed metal grills on the tweeter👌🏽
Mads, why the lower frequency range for the E50 than the s400 when the claim is it has better bass etc? Did you change the way you measure speakers?
@@romanfedorowycz4090 i don’t understand your question, E50 as far I know as better low bass extension, this can be achieved by many aspects like better cabinet material, design and drivers, but I don’t got what you mean with if I changed way to measure speaker?
@ on the buchardt website for example the s400 is listed as 33hz - 40khz +/- 3db. While the e50 is listed as 36hz -30khz. Which is a narrower range and therefore less performance.

It, but if u look better, S400 mkii is in room response and E50 not! Is missing S400 mkii real response in the specs.

All you need is an amp with plenty of power that can go as low as 4 ohms and you will be good to go. So there is no problem at all Mr. Doom & Gloom. 😊
Very good and extremely interesting interview! I really appreciate Mads explaining all the considerations that were made, very different to the typical sales talk the one is used to. They cost more than I want to spend but now I'm *really* tempted...
I calculated the price of the drivers of the E50 to be over 6x the cost for the S400mk2, add to that the real wood cabinets and the high quality components in the filter, and you can only conclude that it is a steal at that asking price! Plus they're made in Denmark aswell.
