I love this orchestra and this conductor!!!
Agreed. IMO, the Warsaw Philharmonic are amongst the finest orchestras in the World. Jacek Kaspszyk is not some over hyped "celebrity" but a genuine talent. We are so lucky to have these excellent videos.
Paul: Absolutely agree!!! Thank you.
could not agree more. and also the recordings are sublime, well balanced and transparant ,i am very impressed with all their recordings
Extraordinary performance of Debussy "the sea" . Great Orchestra and great conductor. Beautifull "tempo" . I was in this theater around the 1990.
Supreme music making and tone painting by a team of outstanding musicians led by Maestro Kaspszyk! This beautiful and powerful rendition by the Warsaw Philharmonic of Debussy’s “La Mer” is full of intensity, passion, tenderness, tension (and relief), as Debussy’s score calls for. Be careful: the intensity can take your breath away. The muted trumpets, the mellow notes from the English horn (by Joanna Monachowicz) linger in my mind’s ears long after the music ends. I must mention that this brilliant, dazzling tone painting was effectively aided by the skillful camerawork that works seamlessly with the music making that achieves unity of sound and sight. My standing ovation to all sections of the musicians who contribute to this astonishing tone painting: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion (where should I put the two nimble harps?). How I wish I could personally thank Maria Machowska, the concertmaster; Urszula Janik and her flute section members; the haunting horns-just to mention a few. A masterful account of this masterpiece of musical impressionism! Highly recommended.
Thank you - you have saved me from writing a more-detailed comment.
This orchestra has a fantastic "raw" sound. This must be one of the most uniques interpretations of this work.
First-rate performance. Bravissimi!
Yet another wonderful performance from this magnificent conductor and orchestra. As I write in March 2022, the nearby tragic war must be impacting on music in Warsaw, even as it's recovering from Covid. I wonder when we will again be hearing music from these forces.
5:36 - fantastic playing by the cello group. sounds great!
There is no music like classical music and no more so then when played by such a great orchestra./conductor.
Bravi!
