    Wonderful review/build of this kit. You really do great things with a box stock. I really wish you would build a model and use as many aftermarket parts that you can get. You could showcase your skills, and review the aftermarket parts too. I thank many your fans would love watching that video.
    I really wish you would sell tee shirts, and stickers. I am sure that I am not the only one that in interested in buying these items.
    Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful videos.

    I bought this kit when it first came out in 1967! At the Bon Marche hobby department in Tacoma Wa. I was 11 years old and it was an easy build for me at the time. I think I will build a new one to see if I can do a better job this time!

    That hammered silver finish looks really good on the chassis - gives it a nice effect. At first I thought you were running low on that spray and it was splattering as it tends to do!

    • @hpiguy

      The nozzle clogs often on the hammered paint. I soak it in super clean overnight when it does.

    It is a pretty cool lookin car. Thank you for the really good demonstration on the decals. You do make it look easy and yeah as it should be if you just stop over thinking it I now realize. I really like how the dashboard gages came out. It does help when the details are raised up enough which is what it looked like to me. Either do that or give me decals I say, the gages are always the hardest part to make look real. I suppose that it's really only going to matter to you yourself in the end. Most people are only going to look at the whole picture. Nice job Chris. Awesome car.

    Very beautiful job on this one! You really knocked it out of the park! I just completed a prior release of this kit (black box art as Rat Packer II). I....really didn't like this kit. That's just me though. I converted mine to a 1963 using the tail panel from a vintage 1963 kit and using the grill from the craftsman series issue of the 1963 nova wagon. The pros with the kit are the specific 1965 Nova parts. And, I like how you did the tail lights with the sharpie. There's lots of options there. Also, when I did mine I used the 1966 pro street nova tires in favor of the styrene tires. Had to narrow the rear axle to get them to fit, but really gave it a mean look to it. Also, did you notice the "hammer tone" finish on the front mag wheels? Looking forward to your build and review of the mobius ones😀.

    • @hpiguy

      Simply drill out the wheel a bit using a hand held drill bit. In fact on Saturday's video coming up I have to do that and I do it on screen.

    Looks like a great kit but I don't know why they call it a funny car, it's a gasser.

    • @SOLIDNecro
      @SOLIDNecro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gassers like this with altered wheelbases and extreme body setback is where the term "Funny Car" originates from. It makes them look funny compared to the stock ones, and the name just stuck. When teams finally ditched using steel factory bodies in the quest for more speed and went all fiberglass, the name just kinda came along with it.
