    If you will make more videos about clutches- mention bolts(cy/zen) than washers, fitting zen shoes on cy carrier/cy on zen carrier etc..

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Will do bro. I did mention the 8mm and 9mm bolt differences. I figured most guys new how to install them, but were oblivious like I was on what the spring rates and shoe types were. I'll do another vid later on the basics.

  • @fstnd

    Something is wrong with the clutch of my "new" baja, turning the wheels turns the engine. Previous owner tightened the screws so hard that I'll have to take it to the LHS tomorrow👍

    • @316RC
      @316RC 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's not right. Need to remove and see if the clutch is binding or broken spring. You can get tight bolts off by heating them up. A small torch I use for this.

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Clutch bolts probably backed out and touching the bell.

    Hey bro, kinda lost, been out of the rc hobby for several years. Recently bought the Rovan D5 36cc awd buggy.....clutch is shot, need a new one, along with clutch bell housing, a few tools as well. For bashing/quicker engagement, what do u recommended?

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey. I'm not sure what size clutch is on that vehicle. If a 52mm then a good stock zenoah clutch will work with a 9000 rpm spring. The bell I'm not sure about because I'm not sure if it's proprietary to rovan or not. The way it engages the pinion gear is different among brands. So if you change to a different bell you may have to get that brands pinion as well. Tools get a good hex driver set like MIP or Proline. Detroit performance also makes a good driver but attachment for a power screwdriver. Also get some decent sockets and ratchet. No need for snap on but teknik is a decent brand w a comfy feel. Good luck bro.

    Then also explain why u want a spring to get at 9000rpm and not one of 5000 rpm. I have tried all kinds and preffer a normal one 6lrpm sometimes i want to drive slowly. at 9 or 10k rpm i might be able to.

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      If you are racing you want your engine to always be in its powerband. For drag racing the race is only around 3 seconds or less and you want the most out of your engine in those seconds. Otherwise think about it like this. A 23cc would struggle and bog down while trying to spin up a 8 or 9k clutch but a 34cc in average bashing would probably love that clutch. But that 34cc at a 98 or 9k spring while drag racing might leave power on the table while traveling down the track gaining rpm to full potential. At that time you could be 1/2 way to the finish line before the engine is in its powerband. It's all in what you are planning to do with the engine.

    I'm want to be competitive with my Baja off-road in drag racing. What's a good clutch to use to get the rpm up fast and engage quickly. Right now, I have this slow wind before I reach peak rpm

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome. All depends on the engine. All engines have a peak RPM range they like. What engine are you running?

    • @Dreway_360
      @Dreway_360 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @CrucialRC OBR 32 reed. Also, what kind of fuel is best. I know you're not going to give up all your secrets, but I'm really trying to be competitive and learn as much as possible.

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For a 32cc I would be above a stock 8k spring for sure. For fuel I would use a ethanol free 91 octane fuel unless your engine is built for higher octane.

    Im really considering MCD XS5 but my biggest question is the price. I saw a model for $1300 and another for $2000. I'm cool with the price of both but is there a massive difference between the two other than aluminum parts?

    • @CrucialRC
      @CrucialRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1st off is the question of what are your plans with the car? Drag racing, on/off-road, bashing, course racing? There is a massive difference between the $1400 max pro, $2000 mx for, and $2600 max ultimate. Diff, diff cases, alloys, radio tray, shocks, etc. All depends on budget and what you want to do with it.

    • @CrucialRC

      What's your plans with it? If just bashing go with a 8000 zen or cy stock clutch.

      @CaveMan-ly5bb 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could try the 9500 spring and see how she likes it. It may a bit high for a 30.5 but try it out. What gearing are you pulling with that car?

    • @CaveMan-ly5bb
