The tools don't work like that for me. The selections are nowhere close to the objects I'm trying to select. In the video, the selection is just about perfect the first time, and easy to correct. My selections include random areas inside and outside the desired selection. Can anyone help with this? Corel tech support couldn't.
Same here. I touch a small area and it chooses some big random area along with it. Then I try to remove and it removes everything as soon as I touch it. I don't know how many hours I've wasted on this tool.

I call them and they don't even know what the term Batch Processing is. It's a sweatshop for workers to just sell then email you a plethora of CPS user manual instructs that don't address the actual issue you called or EM about.
The examples here are for clean defined geometric objects but nothing, for example, on how to separate hair from a jacket that you'd like to change the color of to a different color. Be interesting to see you do a tutorial on using facial recognition in the new PSP 2019 I have just UPGRADED to. Psssst it was there in PSP 2018. Have I paid for an upgrade so you can take things away? I perhaps think so. I don't see myself downgrading to PSP 2020 next year.
This would be a good video without the soundtrack- I have to mute it - the presenter's voice and that music... damn! What did Corel think they were doing? Thank god for subtitles.

I picked up a few useful things by just watching it, but for the most part, it flew right by me and my head hurts from trying to follow them jetting all around the screen, trying to guess which direction they are going, only to forget what they said by the time I see it, having to go back and rewind and relisten again and again. It's crazy. I need a break.
Came here hoping to learn how to control freehand selection (correct one click in a multi-click freehand selection, etc.) and absolutely nothing was said about selection controls in Paint Shop Pro.
Really does not cover the basic control of freehand selection tool ie how to take a pause or break if outlining a complex shape and AVOID the auto straight-line finishing it off for me when I had not finished and just needed say a comfort break or answer the phone!!

Check if you've got it set on "remove." I had that problem a lot at first and that's what it was for me.
