Having played dual wield paladin I realised the exalted smite was even a cleave while dual wielding, and seems to hit with both hands with investment in twf, only problem is missing the last 20% offhand chance.
However it works really well off of the fact that as a paladin you get knight's training from the enhancement tree, allowing you to dual wield any of the heavy 1h martial weapons with the crit profile of a khopesh
Gear layout without the raid gear:
Helm: Titania's Glory
Goggles: Legendary Collective Sight con/cha
Cloak: Legendary Cloak of Winter
Belt: Legendary Direbear/Wolf Belt (Bear for tankiness and Wolf for DPS, change depending on content/party)
Boots: Legendary Deepsnow Boots
Bracers: Brightlord, the Sigil of the Flame
Gloves: Legendary Hammerfist
Necklace: Legendary Family Recruit Sigil
Ring 1 Slavelords, Sheltering +45, Accuracy +28, Stunning +20, Quality Charisma +4
Ring 2: Legendary Nocturne Ring
Trinket: Legendary Bone Figurine
Armor: Legendary Enforcer's Plate

I would like to add (assuming noone else has) that you should definitely cap grandmaster of flowers, shadowdancer and legendary dreadnought if you want Strimtoms feat selection, before moving into fatesinger. You need 3 capped martial destinies before taking level 29, or else dire charge wont be an option. You could alternatively just do that at some later point,, but then you wont get dire charge on the first life (unless that changed in u48.4, doubt it). Also note you need to start in the divine sphere, so thats a minimum of 4 ED levels in unyielding sentinel too).
Another great build ! Im at 21, with a mix of RL/sharn/BL gear and I ran EVERYTHING in elite, since level 4 ( I do have veteran)

Clearly the reason you were successful on a first life character is because you had cosmetics and not because you knew what you were doing. /s
If you start with 16 str instead and put the points wherever else you wish, you can up your str to 17 at lvl 4 before you get the improved two handed feat

Can I recommend building as a STR character, and then using the free Lesser Hearts at level 4-5 to respec into a CHA character? Helps me a lot when building a new toon.
Hi, I saw the full build on the forums and saw that you chose the blue Draconic Ancestry. Does it matter what color you choose or can I pick one I like? I know that it effects resistances but do I have to go blue?
The colour doesn't really matter, I just like blue. Also lightning bolts early game are more painful than other spell types, but after level 10 you take all damage types equally so it wouldn't matter at that point.
Ok Im free to play atm and just bought the fey illusion enhancement from the store for the dragon pet. This is a build that I can make now.

It is important to note that there was a secondary nerf to an epic ability called "Confront any foe" in this patch that a lot of paladin players relied upon. I think Paladin is going to shift away from being the flavor of the month, but it's still going to be very very strong.

Any idea who this supposed "youtuber complaining about alchemist brokenness" that allegedly caused the huge alchemist nerf is? Think we need to inform SSG that this person is a bad idea to listen to, cause they effectively nerfed their newest class so much it goes from recommended purchase to as smart a purchase as how "ensure u buy all cosmetics before any adventure packs" is good advice (aka nerfed what needed a slight nerf by way too much)

How much would this have to be changed for whatever about it has been updated over the years? I'm returning to the game after ages, and I'm looking to TR one of my old characters into a Cha Paladin. Build guides are hard to find these days, so I'm hoping this one's still relevant.

I have a question - If i take the greatsword favored weapon enchancement do I also get the greatsword benefits from deity feats per character level or in other words does it replace my current favored weapon, say longsword?
No, it adds to it. So if you have longbow (from silver flame) and take this enhancement, then BOTH longbow and greatsword count as favoured weapons!
You can't lose favoured weapons, only gain them
Would a 18 paladin/2 fighter build work with Purple Dragon Knight for this build? My thinking is using Cormyrean Knight training instead of Feywild tree for charaisma power and using fighter to pick up the martial feats. Your opinion/suggestions? Thanks
You just give up on the capstone and lose a ton of damage. If you're not doing super endgame, it's fine. If you want to min-max, you gotta be pure.
I run this build with Sentinel epic destiny and i thought it was awesome for survivability. Would i gain so much dps output to switching to cruisader/ fatesigner to i could consider switching?
Yeah it is like way more damages. Especially fate singer
you can only get feydark illusionist tree if you by the feywild expansion right, and it has to be not the standard version or buy it for 495 ddo points?
You unlock the feydark illusionist tree by doing the quests in feywild and getting the favor, buying the collectors edition, or buying it in the store for 495.
@@Strimtom I don't have feywild so i'll have to spend the 495. i have that. Getting feywild later. i like this paladin build and want to have a go at it. :D
I have one question. I need 17 strenght for greater two handed fighting, if I have the racial completionist feat should I put 15 points in it?

I don't think that racial completionist contributes towards your feats, but I don't know for sure since I don't have racial completionist.
Is this build viable with drow or other races?
Why have nights training when your using a 2 hander?

How do you get a feydark illusionist tree? I checked the enhancement trees for first life paladin, and it's not there. I'd like to be a 2 handed paladin, but the only tree seems to be Knight of the Chalice, which only has 1-handed weapons for favored weapons. The other two trees use a shield. So I don't see how to play a 2 handed paladin.
Knight of the chalice gets greatsword as a favoured weapon which is two handed.
Feydark illusionist comes from completing the feywild on elite difficulty.

Yeah, just take SWF, and using feydark illusionist. It works super good.

The tree is listed in the title of this build. If you don't have the tree, nor wish to get it; then why did you bother watching it and/or consider it?
just recently hit level 18 with this build and am looking to start planning out my next life

I just hit level 20 and it looks like a lot of the epic leveling stuff has changed to a point where anything in this guide past level 20 is...just not there
or, at least, has changed changed in name, so without a function description it becomes harder to find
either way, some help would be appreciated, since I cannot actually reply on the old forums with them...essentially having shut down
Yeah, there has been a lot of changes. My basic recommendations are:
Fatesinger: Use this tree to get access to the strike, the sword sings, and it's second strike Blade of discord.
Unyielding Sentinal: Renewel is a super good heal and keeps you alive through everything.
For a main tree, both legendary dreadnaught and divine crusader are good, with great mantles and loads of damage effects in the tree.
For recommendations of what to play next, go dragonlord. It's so fun!
@@Strimtom yeah, I did get those abilities from Fatesinger, and it has proven quite powerful, but wasn't sure where to go next with it, so have been focusing on getting more smites from the Crusader tree
what about skills and feats for when leveling?
I'm about to hit level 21
as far as my next build goes, someone actually suggested shadar-kar 2 levels and 18 single weapon barbarian with a handaxe. go to tier 5 on frenzied for raging blows under Healing or hurt and anything that buffs rage, and make sure to get the chain whip and all its empowerments from the racial tree
2 levels in rouge to get evasion and trapping
the playstyle, to my understanding, just "angry blender go brrrrrt" with the typical rouge abilities for skill points
though I did also want to give dragon lord a try, though I would need a build as I am still way too new to be trying that on my own for now
I was thinking about toying with a horc feywild paladin just for the fun of it but I think I'll try db first now.
Is there any way to get the Feydark tree without buying the expansion collectors edition?
And if not, can one simply play this build with strength instead?
@@tenspeedbeliever If you own feywild, you get it from doing the quests, as it's a favor reward. If you don't own feywild, it will probably be in the store in the next 30 days or so. (This is a prediction, I do not know the actual release date, but this is based off their previous expansion release schedules)
And yeah, if you don't own the tree, just do strength paladin. honestly paladin is good either way, so just do the same build but max strength instead and you should have a good time.
@@Strimtom Ay thanks tom, just dipping my toes back into the game, hoping to duo a paladin build with a friend's rogue. Found this, found it fun, found the tree presently locked behind 80 dollars and got sad.
You get it aswell with the cheaper versions of Feywild. Just have to run the missions for favor. The collector's edition just gives it instantly.

Yeah, but is it viable as dwarf?
Yes but it is much worse for levelling since you are at a -4 charisma compared to dragonborn.
So Human would be better on the f2p side?
Or mayhaps Drow?
Just made PvP 20 and can't take fatesinger.
As a paladin you need to start in a divine destiny, and then level up destinies to unlock travel across the destiny map. Unyielding sentinal level 4 -> Grand master of flowers level 3 -> Shadowdancer level 4 -> Fatesinger

PDK is best done with a heart for pure pally. Which would not go well with the spirit of the build he is doing
