Don’t forget the protection gloves shield clickie from Necromancer’s doom. Boots with xpo retreat from borderlands 3, 5 min charges of 25% movement speed boost. Violent delights quest You can also farm your mount in borderlands explorer area. The scepters are good for spell casting and may be easier than farming a specific ring.
The Anger's Step boots are a really good starter item too from Korthos, on demand 25% movement speed for 5 minutes is so nice and it has 2 charges, besides that it gives +3 jump is handy too, have like 2-3 pairs on me at low levels helps me keeping up with public groups and speedy friends =)
Man this brings back memories. I haven't played in about eight years and I just reinstalled and poked my head back in the other day. So much had changed that I decided to TR my Favored Soul and start over at level one. Not sure how long I'll stick with it because the grouping list is always pretty short, and never any groups at lower levels for XP, but we'll see. So far I've solo'd my way to level 5.
@@Nardo_Drinks_Coffee the 11 temp hp from the bracers of assistance may only be temporary but it is also ranged and if you run the cannith crystal quest multiple times for elite there is no reason to grab spearblock multiple times. It casts quicker, and can't be interrupted like a healers kit can. You also don't need to keep restocking
Can't say enough good things about Glory's Guard. Good bashing damage, durable as heck, and impervious to slimes and oozes, so you can bash them to oblivion. It and the spear-bane bracers are the early items I use the longest. And those Borderlands metallic ingots can also be exchanged for really good elemental boost scepters. They're much better than those rings and easier to get.
as far as hireling go i suggest Biron over all others he can almost solo all the quests for you just set him to aggressive and watch him tear through enemies like a fat kid eating spirit cakes =)
Glad to see you got a horse at the end. Don't forget to farm those feathers in the Borderlands wilderness chests to get yourself a mount ASAP. You will eventually get better mounts but that one is a freebie. Also, if you see this comment this month (June 2024) they are currently giving away a free green dragon mount in the Hall of Heroes in the Stormreach Marketplace!
Hey, thanks! I literally just poked my head in after not playing for ten? years or so. The last time I was playing, mounts weren't a thing and people were still running The Shroud for Greensteel. So much had changed that I just TR'd my Favored Soul and started back at one.
Never underestimate/overlook healer's kit. I got saved a lot from 1st lifer/new player when Incapacitated by using those. Of course its different story on vets player. Anyway its a great video for new player.
Earned a sub brother, well done vid, I would have to say getting a mount at KOTB wilderness area are a high prority if u dont one already...And I always keep a spare feather cloak from borderlands in my shared bank for new toons.
People don't buy people! You hire them in 1 hour blocks. I think 15 qall feathers for horse mount is great for the new players if they don't have a horse. An early purchse for me is quiver - can get cheap from the range vendor in Borders or in Stormreach Harbor (upper area near banker). Set for autogather on thick to help with inventory slots. I get a thin for my bulk arrows so I don't run out - and an thick for all the odd ones to manage slots.
Bartatarter... lol It's old-timey naming. Try Bauer (like Jack Bauer from that awful TV show) Daughter. Yes, that would most likely make Gunner Bauerson and Sigmund Bauerson her brothers, and Kaja Bauerdatter her sister.
very good quality for a DDO video I will shoot this at anyone who I know is looking into the game. Although with the asterisk that keep on the borderlands isn't free now that the free coupon voucher's rotated out. sigh
@@Nardo_Drinks_Coffee of course, you just have to farm Quaal Feathers in the chests throughout Borderlands then trade 15 of them for a Horse with an NPC that has a stable within the Keep.

Augments are in some quests, or from the auction house. Lower levels can help you organise your gear Tetris, but at higher levels it's easier to see what you're missing....
Keep on the borderlands, Keep on the borderlands, DDO Store and more Keep on the borderlands. BTW Keep on the borderlands costs money on the store too, yay
Yes! I mean, graphically it's dated, but it has a really complex and customizable character building system, and 18 years worth of added quest packs and expansions so there is a LOT to do and explore.
just like any game you buy , theres content that will hold you playing for weeks or months. the game is free, with redeem codes that unlock content for free. playing membership opens you up for more game content.
You may have been Entertaining ... but you can look through an area's items to find gems (good items) like you listed off quite easily on the Wiki... I know the 'younger generation' will probably love this video (if it keeps their attention long enough since it's likely still too long for them) but for a 7 minute long video, I expected 15 or 20 items in that time.
nice video. don't know about heaker's kit. never used one in 15 years. keep it up we need more ddo content!

These are all strong picks
Those shield clicky gloves for sure. Elite+ magic missiles at level 3+ can tear you apart.
I really appreciate that you capture footage of where the npcs are, thank you!
Other nice additions are joining the sharn sindicate quests chain for a good low level weapon that can serve good future lives if planned ahead :)
Huge advice, changes everything
Nice beginner video!! But like other posters said, horse and boots of expeditious retreat. I've never used a healers kit in 15ish years.
It's never too early/late my friend
I have been going since the beginning and unless you are an active healer, really no reason to carry one. A waste of valuable inventory space.
@@brianstevens3858 Get some UMD and use a wand...
Good video its nice to see someone making videos like this for ddo we have new players all the time that can benefit from videos like this.
Thank you, Much appreciated
Boots of expeditious retreat (because running away is also good!).
The 25% speed boost is huge in the early game to get away from the threats

Low level is normally easy to complete especially on a TR'd toon
The cloak of healing and bracers of assistance from korthos are better than healing kits.
the healers kits have their role to play

Feather fall is over sought. Rings, capes, boots. All can be easily found or crafted with feather fall.
