I love this show. I am a bigger woman and to try and find a wedding dress was so hard. I wish I had lived in England while I was trying to find my wedding dress for my first marriage. I prefer this show over say yes to the dress.
This lady looked amazing in every dress she had on that was shown. She has a pretty face and it is hard to believe people when they dont see it. However, I understand. I felt unattractive for years and you wouldnt believe what I saw when I looked in the mirror. And when people complimented me, I thought they were placating me. it's hard to get it till you've been there.
My dear, lovely Tanya...YOU, sweetheart, are getting married. Someone loves you enough to marry you. I'm 61 and my first marriage was awful..he had issues and I was insecure with no self confidence allowed to be shown. Lasted 12 years before I had enough, and it's been 25 since, and other than a guy who used me for a year, no one else has asked me out, let alone to marry them! So you are certainly not the least desirable marriage partner. I may be, but not you. Not by a long shot, dear...you look lovely.
I wouldn't have picked this dress either, but it looks amazing on her. This one was pretty instructive for me because she and I look a bit alike. We're around the same size, age, and colouring. It's so painful to see her saying those horrible things about herself! I'm the size I am because I'm disabled and cannot exercise the way I could when I was still abled. I do eat very well, so, given that I can't exercise, there's really nothing I can do about my size. And yet still, just like her, I blame myself for the way I look, and hate myself for it. It drives my husband mad hearing me talk so negatively about myself. He thinks I'm beautiful and tells me so all the time. Why can't we hear these things? It's so sad.
If you feel this bad about yourself why get married?You can/will settle. Learn to love yourself first before you try to love another. Jo & Al are incredible.
