What these plus size brides tend to forget is that they have already found someone loves them for who they are. That's the hardest part in life!
I think that is because we have been taught our entire lives to hate ourselves, so even in a good relationship with someone who does love us, it’s still very difficult for us to love ourselves, and as a result it’s hard to believe that we are truly loved. That’s why the work that Jo and Al are doing is so important. They are teaching women to love themselves and accept themselves for who they are.

These women, brides, have tried so hard to get their weight down. I know how it feels. I'm just 30lbs overweight and I don't want to look in a mirror. It's not that easy for some people to lose the weight., at least they are trying to be healthy. I feel for her because I know exactly how she feels.
I forget is that they're doing all this for tv. I wouldn't be undressing and trying on dresses for a camera, besides all the regular anxiety they have.

Every bit of this made me cry. I hurt for Louise, then was so happy when she came the second time, with her head up, a new hairstyle, makeup. She is absolutely beautiful. And you two women at the salon are also absolutely beautiful!

Wow, that dress is amazing on her! I am just so amazed at her change. I saw myself in her as the first appointment. I totally understood her anxiety, and fear. Very sad... But I am so glad that she was able to move past it. Jo and Al are so amazing at their job. You can tell that it isn't a job for them, it is a passion.

I feel like that too. I recently went on an European trip and didn't take any photos of myself. My weight shows in my face, arms and belly. I will start the gym soon. I can't live with this depression anymore.

I'm happy there is a place like this for plus size brides.. it makes me angry that there aren't more options in plus, not everyone is a cookie cutter size 6 or less...we're all wonderfully made in all sizes.

I love these ladies. Kind but honest. Not brutally honest but kindly honest. Very considerate of how she feels but not treating her like she’s pitiful. Louise is clearly a beautiful person because of the kindness of her mother.

I really wish there was a Jo and Al where I live. My entire life my mom has picked at my belly to the point where I feel like I’m 300-400 lbs and yet I’m not but that’s the way she makes me feel. I’m getting engaged soon and it’s one of the cases where I want something but I don’t think I can handle emotionally everyone staring at me in a dress…thank you Jo and Al for the work you do with all these lovely ladies!

This is one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen, in my life. The hardest thing in the world is to love oneself, I think. Others may think we are beautiful and accept what we look like, but yea. Being fine with what we see, is on another level of love. Because at the end of the "isle" you always meet yourself in life. I'm still walking.

I feel so sorry for her. When overeating is stress-driven, it is uncontrollable. I had that problem for decades. When I got rid of the stress (in my case it was work; and I retired), controlling what I ate became doable. Then I became vegan, and I am now a size 8. Never thought that could be possible. No surgery involved.

Al and Jo really are sweet ladies and they treat plus size women like they are normal size because in their minds that’s how they want to see themselves. I’m plus size and would of loved to of found these two when I was looking for a dress. I had to get married in a mother if the brides dress it was a plum color but still very pretty. We had a very informal wedding.
Being “plus sized” IS normal! What we need to de-normalize is shaming people for their body shapes. So happy to see this bride feeling beautiful and ready for the happiest day of her life.
He chose to be with her the way she is , he sees her the most beautiful woman and that’s why he’s marrying her,if she sees herself through his eyes she would be able to know how beautiful she is.
