Thanks for the video share mate. Just out of curiosity what was your existing TP-Link Modem/Router? Was it a TD-W9970 or TD-W9960? I already have a TP-Link Archer C59 with Fibre to my apartment but moving to VDSL2 connection location so thinking to go with the TP Link Archer VR400 or use my existing TP-Link Archer C59 and a second hand $10 TD-W9970 in bridge mode (essentially just used as a VDSL2 modem only and leaving the rest of the wifi/routing business to my existing archer C59 (which has treated me well for 3yrs now).
I was with a TD-9970 actually and its okay but be aware the ports on that are only up to 100mbps ethernet, but to be fair, using the 9970 with the Archer C59 is fine (put the 9970's cable into the blue port on the C59 and make sure the ip of both are not 192.168.1.1), and you should be good to go
Just a quick question. In my flat I've got a N300 WiFi Range Extender which also has an ethernet port underneath. Im wondering if I can use an ethernet cable and buy an actual router like this one above and still share the same connection? Essentially creating my own network. Would that be possible?
that i have done myself in the past, since Ethernet from Extender to the WAN Port on this one (Ideally use a cable/fTTP router) then make sure the settings on the Router are set to a different IP for the thing itself and the Static IP for the connection to make it match the IP the Extender gives out, for example if extender is 1.xxx then the Router's IP for static should be 1.xxx and the DHCP on the router should be 3.xxx

You can't on this model, you have to put it into Bridge mode or you plug in another extender then it can be used as a repeater
