Whoa, this episode greatly exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I could have seen such examples of well thought and often minimalist (yet very deep) stage designs. She is brilliant and also seems to be a lovely person. I also appreciate the production value, the music and all the transitions. Amazing work!
the first minute is, especially 0:35... still one of the greatest intros ever made. music and pictures just fit so incredibly well. absolutely epic and stunning. goooooosebumps af
I recently got accepted to CalArts to study scene design. I am currently fundraising and I often look for anything that could inspire hope! This was it!
In theatre today projection is an additional tool in the designer's workbox. Lighting, costumes, make-up, set movement, rotation and of course script are all in there too. Not forgetting consideration for the Directors vision of the story. Plus keeping mostly to a budget. (The production needs to make a profit) The most important ingredient is the designer's vision and interpretation. So, from a quick 'childlike' drawing, all these ingredients breathe life into the production. That is a designer's job.

The budget for their music videos is incredible too. They're way above the kpop industry because they don't try to follow the trends or standards. Bts is a genre in stage design as well as music. @@vmh3515 if you are interest in art, you need to be open up more than make fun like this, I didn't even into Kpop but it's a phenomenon that you really should study about it, try to use some subtitle.
if you're a good designer and director, you do, in fact, control where the audience looks. Not downplaying this cool technology, but let's not claim every new toy is the be-all.
yeah, i wonder how the musicians on the scene felt separated in the little boxes... i dont know, how this could work for the common groove of the band...
Many of her pieces/installations remind me of Bill Viola's work. I would love to know if he is one of her influences/inspirations! What an amazing career.

Regarding mental health and escape and legal system of deportation regarding the emotional hypnosis of expectation of self observation and independent identity reflection while having an immoral filter like every kind gesture is an insult with psychic visions of unwanted spam... Abstract and skateboarding language regarding the science of mechanics and foot boards. The abstract philosophy and religion of inventions regarding skateboarding brands and skateboarding with purpose...
I've seen this woman before. She does fantastic work. But one thing about the rock band and the box and that genre of music is that for the fans, and the musicians, it's all about the music, and the craft and art of playing musical instruments. With pop stars, you can have a giant miley cirus head with a tongue that she can slide out of, have all the lights flash like a fireworks show. It fits well and they pretty much need it. Take somebody like Eric Clapton, who can just walk out on stage with his band, nods to see if everyone is ready, and they just take off. The stage design to her is boring, but it's also not neaded.
This episode doesn't work. Most of her (3D) ideas could not be explained or depicted through the medium of film! I also have never wanted to see a Kanye or a Beyonce show ...and this film didn't change my opinion! She is obviously a very creative person though.
@@mattiaserra1179 well, mostly yea?, just because stuff is old dosent mean it's the best it ever was, tho for Michaelangelo I think it's further then picasso, Michaelangelo had diffent stuff, a lot of nude guys yes, but the scenery, what it meant the reason was mostly different on all of it
