It's one thing to own Biba makeup pieces, but to have drawings from Barbara herself is out of bounds. I love that she was involved with every aspect of her brand.
I have exactly that too. Avoid catching sun on your face (UVA rays make the pigmentation darker) and use gentle peels/exfoliating products (I like Dermalogica personally) and lightening serums (Clinique do good ones). You can even out with concealer or foundation too. See my Foundation video, I talk about it there X
what i like about this video is not just the makeup , but the fact that the model has a small eyelid space ,kinda hooded ! most of Biba girls had really really big eyes !
I adore how in your videos you don't just show us how to put make-up on. But you give us a history lesson about an entire industry as well. Your passion really shows through.
Lisa you are literally the most talented makeup artist I have ever seen. Your work is absolutely gorgeous and you don't focus on just adding color, you truly understand shapes and contour and technique
I love this makeup so much, I think this tutorial is probably one of your best if not the best ! So happy the girl has little eyelids and ( just ) a bit hooded eyes because I have the same shape of eyes and it was really really hard to find a tutorail to do a 60s inspired makeup suitable for me, with all of that huge eyelid trend during this decade.
Hi Lisa! Its a real pleasure to see someone like You trying things from past! I adore Barabara Hulanicki as a artist (and i am Polish so its always a nice thing to know that she has Polish roots) and seeing you working based on her notes gives me chills! Thank you
Lots of people have been asking me to recommend hair products, I have been loving the same ones for quite a while now so making a video would be a nice idea. thanks x
I dont know anyone called Linda Eldridge (but you never know I guess it could be a distant cousin or something lol!). I dont go to Oxford very often but its really beautiful ... you will love it X
So authentic.. During sixties, it was also trendy keeping the wing down, but what is more characteristic, is the eye shading on the lead. These days the eye gets to open on the outher corner instead. Good job!
Thank you Lisa, I just want to say it means the world to me that someone as brilliant as you would take the time out to replay. I am a huge fan of your work and your one of my biggest inspirations. May God continue to bless you!!!
This look takes me back to the sixties! Well done! I love going back in time and it's great for younger generations to see how it recreate these looks today. Of course, we are blessed with much better products. The technology has given us so many ways to have fun with makeup!
For the life of me I still can't figure out why such a talented and successful makeup artist like yourself spends the time to make these videos for youtube but boy am I GRATEFUL. Its really a gift to be able to subscribe to you!
hello Lisa, the reason why i love your videos so much is they make the makeup application a beautiful ritual, and you take such care with your blending and details. now, even when i'm running late in the mornings i really love those few minutes of using my brushes and hands, and having those few moments to myself, not just to have a finished face, but to spend a little time being creative and using new tools i've discovered. thank you!! love Sarah (in australia)
I'd love to hear a bit more about the dainty doll liquid foundation. You mentioned it in your foundations for pale skin video, but I'd like to know more about the quality and appearance on the skin. It seems great for my Swedish paler-than-nw15-in-mac-concealer-skin since it's so light. But everyone is so overwhelmed that the shade matches them that they seem to forget to talk about the other parts that make a foundation wearable, like staying power and the finish it gives. I love you and your videos by the way, they are so informative and you're so talented and professional:)
As usual, you effortlessly transformed the way the model looks. But what makes this video even more special is the love and care you put into it. It's obvious how much you admire Barbara, and I'm sure she's very proud of you! x
Remember that it was a makeup look that could go in harmony with Biba clothes and identify that woman as a Biba girl. Nowadays if u only wear this makeup with a simple t-shirt, pair of jeans and sneakers it looks strange, kinda off balance!
Every time I watch your videos, I find them so inspiring ! We learn much about history of make-up and precise technics. Thank you for sharing Lisa ! XX
Oh thanks, I didnt see the magazine unfortunately. I should try and get a copy. I saw the shots on the day though and they did look good .... I love Kate. Thanks for watching my videos X
This was such an interesting video to watch. I don't know anyone else on youtube that educates us on makeup techniques and it's history all at the same time. Stuff like this is priceless! Well done, Lisa!
Lisa, I admire you and your work everyday more and more. I wish there is an Oscar that could be given to you for this amazing job you are doing. It means a lot to me personally, as a woman, to see another woman reaching out for other women to help in any sort of thing and you are doing this by the way you express yourself and your makeup by class, kindness and a smile that never leaves your beautiful face. I have never heard you using any negative word. What a role model. Love from Dubai. Thanks
Sage Kay No, although the book Lolita was around for a while, and the movie came out in the 60's, it didn't refer to any specific fashion until the Japanese subculture originating in the late 70's, but not widely called "lolita fashion" until the 90's.
okay okay if aNY simmers are on here just look at her face and wow (The girl getting her makeup done) I want to sketch her face, and make a sim of her, she's so precious owo
I love all of these "throwback" videos that you do! In addition to being awesome for halloween or themed parties, I think that you are amazing for sharing your knowledge with all of us. The vast majority of us don't have the contacts or time to do the kind of research into the history of cosmetics that you are able to, and I think that you are so generous to share it with us!
Your job is amazing! I am a big fan of Biba and I am proud that she is Polish and she's known for hers unique style and creativity - just like you Lisa !
thats really good too!!!! I was spoilt for choice on my Facebook page. I also like Sculpted 60s Seductress. Maybe I'll have to give it multiple names x
Awesome look. Even thought the eyeshadows are dark, her eyes appear larger without the eye makeup. I also appreciate how dramatic Lisa made the eyes with so few colors. I'm going to try this and adjust as needed to make it wearable. Thank you, Lisa.
Wow this look is really pretty! I'm a fan of vintage fashion and this really widen my perspective of vintage in a whole new level. Now I'm so incline to source for looks like this.
60s inspired looks definitely dont work as everyday looks anymore (they used to wear this kind of look during the day and leave the lashes on for days lol!). This is more of a costume party look although the tips on getting wider spaced and larger eyes can be useful for everyday .... like starting your liner a third of the way along your eye etc X
This is my favourite Lisa look - the 60s are the era I was meant to live in - and this video is very inspiring to go with the vintage I wear. Thanks Lisa.
Lisa, I'm Brazilian and a huge, huge fan of yours! I've been watching all your videos and I've learned a lot from them! Thank you very much for sharing your talent and experience with us! Hugs and kisses! :)
I remember the first time I ever stepped into Biba. I was very young probably 10 or 11 and was taken by a friends older sister. It felt like stepping into a stage set. But the best thing by far was the make up counter where you could actually make yourself up. I walked out of there looking like heaven knows what, but the memory is still there and I'm still a huge fan. Biba forever!
I love that you used a model with small eyelids, just like mine. I find it very very difficult to follow makeup tutorials, and makeup artists around here don't ever know what to do with my eyes. This is very very nice. I would love to see more tutorials with this model in the future! x
Thanks I thought its probably a look lots of young girls might like to re-create for a party (60's looks in fashion and make-up are going to be a big trend again later this year and next!) so I purposely chose products which werent too expensive X
Or maybe just more looks! I love your tutorials; my favorites right now is the one with Bib ling and the simply beautifying... simply.... beautiful! xx
I love that you reference Biba and Barbara - I have been obsessed with Biba since I was17 (I'm now 30 so sadly never experienced it).... Barbara is a genius. Thank you for this look.
Towards the end of the makeup I was just in awe... and kept on incoherently saying "ohmygod. OH.MY.GOD." The model looks so hauntingly beautiful - innocent but mysterious at the same time. O_O Amazing.
Yes they were invented in 1931 but were more mainstream in the US in the 60's than here in the UK. I only say that because my mum and her friends told me that girls in the UK didnt really use them as they weren't available everywhere and used by everyone like they are today. My mum and her friends used to go to The Cavern nightclub to watch the Beatles and they all wore the full make-up ... so I'm taking her word for it! haha X
Watching you put make-up on other people is so relaxing for me.
astepfromgrace Me too! I thought I was the only one!
astepfromgrace yes! she applies it so softly!
@@mariaisabelgonzalez9063 She is an amazing makeup artist, the way she did this we were all trying to atchieve this look.back in the day x
I may have found my everyday look.
Is it your everyday look?
Patty Ann Longan I use the eyeliner technique for everyday now, but with brown liner for a more neutral look. I'm happy with it.
I tried The Biba one from the 70's… and failed completely. I looked like David Bowie mixed with Marilyn Manson….
May I ask which products did you used? I loved that look!
sounds awesome though! would have loved to see that! keep working :)!
Grace Bloodrose love Marilyn manson
That's a success!!
You call that a fail?
It's one thing to own Biba makeup pieces, but to have drawings from Barbara herself is out of bounds. I love that she was involved with every aspect of her brand.
I ADORE this look. I have to try it, even if's just around my flat. It's pretty, cool and sooo 60's, but different.
The 69s are my favorite era for fashion, makeup and music. I love this and all Lisa's videos so much.
Exactly, finally and adapted version for us small led and hooded eyes people 😂
This model is stunning! It might sound a little weird, but she has a beautiful nose.
it is weirder that i feel complimented now because my nose looks like that XD
Emili Siefer I'm very jealous...
i already have droopy eyes..if i do this makeup they'll probably slide off my face
mista happy tree friends!!!!
My favourite video of yours. Have watched it hundreds of times and it still gets me enchanted.
I have been doing my liner on the top lashes that way for a while. I have hooded eyes, and it helps give me more lid to work with. Love this
Damn Lisa you are the Picasso of make up!!
So happy to hear, these sorts of comments make my day! You are gorgeous and I bet you looked fantastic in the make-up X
You so ought to do a Twiggy tutorial!
chattumlou19360 Also Pattie Boyd would be great too.
I adore how in your videos you don't just show us how to put make-up on. But you give us a history lesson about an entire industry as well. Your passion really shows through.
Beautifully done! I really like the makeup looks that came out in the 60s. They were so dramatic and artistic. Super unique yet feminine too.
Lisa you are literally the most talented makeup artist I have ever seen. Your work is absolutely gorgeous and you don't focus on just adding color, you truly understand shapes and contour and technique

WOW!!! Love the vintage looks! And I love Biba as well. So glad that you did a true authentic look! Gorgeous
Good job!
I'm in love with the eye look- and with lid space comparable to mine!
Thank you Lisa, I just want to say it means the world to me that someone as brilliant as you would take the time out to replay. I am a huge fan of your work and your one of my biggest inspirations. May God continue to bless you!!!
The model's nose is all I've ever wanted
Jane Warner Yes! for some reason I adore her nostrils also. I'm really strange haha
Lisa's eyes are perfect too
I REALLY love these videos about the history of makeup. Please keep making these vintage makeup looks.
Simply gorgeous! I didn't know statement eyes and bare lips were a sensation from the 1960s! I thought it was something new.
This look takes me back to the sixties! Well done! I love going back in time and it's great for younger generations to see how it recreate these looks today. Of course, we are blessed with much better products. The technology has given us so many ways to have fun with makeup!
i've always loved this look and always come back to it, i need to actually try it now!
For the life of me I still can't figure out why such a talented and successful makeup artist like yourself spends the time to make these videos for youtube but boy am I GRATEFUL. Its really a gift to be able to subscribe to you!
I love you. You are one of my favorite makeup artists. True art. Thanks for sharing all of your amazing skills and tips!
hello Lisa, the reason why i love your videos so much is they make the makeup application a beautiful ritual, and you take such care with your blending and details. now, even when i'm running late in the mornings i really love those few minutes of using my brushes and hands, and having those few moments to myself, not just to have a finished face, but to spend a little time being creative and using new tools i've discovered. thank you!!
love Sarah (in australia)
That. Eyeliner. Was. Beautiful. :)
This is beautiful! Barbara was certainly a visionary and so chic! Really ahead of her time. This easily could be a runway look today. Gorgeous.
I'd love to hear a bit more about the dainty doll liquid foundation. You mentioned it in your foundations for pale skin video, but I'd like to know more about the quality and appearance on the skin. i wish i could wear this every day without people giving me strange looks- it would be great for my close-set eyes haha
you can! just dont Care about what people think! care about what you love! xoxo
Jen H yes!
XX
omdayssss this is amazing, i love you Lisa!!
Oh thanks, I didnt see the magazine unfortunately. I should try and get a copy. I saw the shots on the day though and they did look good .... I love Kate. Thanks for watching my videos X
Actually, we DID have eyelash curlers in the 60s. Fun video!
it's amazing how remarkably beautiful it turned out knowing that it's not that complicated to do. just a few steps. Great job, Lisa as always! xx
I love this video but it seems like a crime to put any makeup on that model, she is such an incredible natural beauty!
This was such an interesting video to watch. I don't know anyone else on youtube that educates us on makeup techniques and it's history all at the same time. Stuff like this is priceless! Well done, Lisa!
I was definitely born into the wrong era. I want to be a biba girl :(
Lisa, I admire you and your work everyday more and more.
Thanks
Would the term lolita had been used during this time period to describe the style and doll-like look and lashes? Lovely video, thank you
Sage Kay No, although the book Lolita was around for a while, and the movie came out in the 60's, it didn't refer to any specific fashion until the Japanese subculture originating in the late 70's, but not widely called "lolita fashion" until the 90's.
Wow!!!! We are treated to yet another display of sheer artistry. Thanks Lisa. Xoxo
Now gyarus do this!
you are so eloquent and classy when you speak through your videos. also very relaxing. great makeup job as always!
okay okay if aNY simmers are on here just look at her face
and wow (The girl getting her makeup done) I want to sketch her face, and make a sim of her, she's so precious owo

Looks like Lana Del Rey
no words....... I'm completely obsessed by you Lisa.... You're works are wonderful ... you are wonderful!!!!!!!!!
I keep thinking "Bieber"
thats really good too!!!!
You don't simply put makeup on people, Lisa, you create art..Gorgeous!xx
The model is already so beautiful, but at the end she is more than stunning! Wow!
Oh my, this is epic! This is the best gothic look I have ever seen. So authentic.
So vintage, that will never go out of fashion, I love it! xx
Oh my goodness. This might just be my most favorite look you've ever done.
Wow this look is really pretty! I'm a fan of vintage fashion and this really widen my perspective of vintage in a whole new level. Now I'm so incline to source for looks like this.
Amazing! I get inspired by real makeup artist. There is so much depth to the shadows.
Omg, I absolutely adore this look. The technique is so daring, but the turn out was amazing!!!

I love how much detail you put into your videos Lisa!
Yes she loves Nancy Sinatra so always channels a 60's vibe with her make-up x
i am so in love with this look! The lashes really pull the whole look together!!
Looking from the side you really can appreciate the perfection of blending! I'm amazed
just stunning. I hope to be as talented a MUA as you are. I find you so inspiring, humble & so generous with your time
Welcome and thanks! x
By far one of the best 'dolly' or doll eyed tutorial out!
This is the best 60s tutorial I have ever seen. Wonderful work Lisa! Now to test whether it's too much for 2012... I love it and plan to wear it out!
I love this film!!! Lisa,I can not thank you enough for continually sharing your knowledge with us!!!
Dont use too much foundation, just a small amount and really work it into the skin. You can apply more if needed. Thin layers well blended is key x
this is probably my favourite makeup tutorial ever
WOW! This is a BREATHTAKING look with a wonderful story. You are truly inspiring.
Lisa, I'm Brazilian and a huge, huge fan of yours! I've been watching all your videos and I've learned a lot from them! Thank you very much for sharing your talent and experience with us! Hugs and kisses! :)

I can't explain how much I love your videos and your work, beautiful looks
I always feel inspired after watching you...
The model is so beautiful and her eyes are so clear, I loved everything about this :)
Its on until April next year x
Thanks I thought its probably a look lots of young girls might like to re-create for a party (60's looks in fashion and make-up are going to be a big trend again later this year and next!) so I purposely chose products which werent too expensive X

That was great!!! I love 60s makeup, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more looks from that decade!
That model is so beautiful!!! breathtaking!!!
I love seeing this make-up coming to life in our time, I could listen and watch you all day :)
Towards the end of the makeup I was just in awe... and kept on incoherently saying "ohmygod. OH.MY.GOD." The model looks so hauntingly beautiful - innocent but mysterious at the same time. O_O Amazing.
more vintage make up looks please!!! Love these videos !!!! thank you for educating us on vintage makeup
Fascinating! Really enjoyed....love vintage cosmetics and looks. Thanks.
