I just binged semis and the final, and I must say, kudos to T90 (&Hera) superb analysis, entertaining commentary and I really appreciate the "no spoilers" policy on the titles. Been playing this game competitively in my teens and casually now for like 20 years. Still love watching it. Kudos to both players here. Such a great performance from both!
Dear mr t-90. I don't play this game. I recently discovered you through the algo and I am for some weird reason hooked on watching you cast this ancient game I didn't even like when it was current. I found you through lel and have seen some high elo games, but now there's suddenly tournament drama... I have no idea what's going on and the videos are really long so I'm looking forward to some breakdowns post tourney! I love the content.
This game is like 8-D chess, so many layers and mechanics with over 20 years of balancing work to make arguably the best RTS (real time strategy) game ever made. Hope you enjoy your stay :)
Dear T90, I wanted to thank you for the many years of entertainment, I've been here since before the first Hidden Cup. I unfortunately haven't been watching much recently, since medical issues prevent me from playing AoE myself these days, and watching your stuff always gets me hyped to play, so it has been frustrating. After a break I'm slowly coming back to your channel and putting that frustration aside, because I genuinely enjoy your casting. Your tips and tricks even helped me achieve 3rd place in a local AoE tournament a couple of years back. Thanks for everything, Sincerely, A long-time Dutch fan
39:16 - "7 to 1 eco KD, I know that number brings back some painful memories for some people listening"... is that a reference to Germany v Brazil 2014? 😂
Hey T90, was there a post-match interview or anything? I was looking forward to hearing Yo's reaction and thought process on those game changer decisions he took throughout the series. Huge fan, also thanks for Hera for co-casting this series. I was shocked at the beginning as I clearly recognized his voice but thought I clicked the incorrect video. Having Hera as a caster was a fresh breeze of air; great comments, both are so AOE savvy and I'll definitely will look forward to more Hera+T90 casts.
playing this game since 1999, 24 years!! This is the goose laying the golden egg for Microsoft. Love that this game is so well loved and played in 2024, lets GO!!!
That last game was the best. The fetoria civ was leveraged to the max. Mid game gives the PORT a much greater pop. If extra military buildings are used, than a much smaller army will win if there is a relentless push. The fetorias enable a relentless push.
Really cool to see Hera keep on in the casting, I think he has a ton of potential to be an outstanding caster. Clearly has deep knowledge and a unique view on the game given his history on the game. A little awkward here and there, but he's gotten really good - hope he keeps going. (First says "vih-leez" then goes into "vih-less" as an example)
Woah never thought AOE 2 would still be alive to this day but there's also a tournament. First time watching and it's entertaining to watch + the casters knowledge and says on their strats
I like how it took best of nine to bring out poles civilization. Then everyone says they are OP. I don't recall anyone picking them in semi-finals. More players should try more civilizations, it would be fun to watch. People are really sleeping on poles.
As civs were picked for the opponent in this tournament, only seeing them in the finals shows that people respect them and didn't want to give them to their opponents.
26:29 "I think that's the highest level reverse sweep I've ever seen in a best of 7" T90 says to Hera, who got reverse-swept by MBL in a RedBull Wololo best of 7 :P
Thanks for casting this t90. If you could give a brief explanation of upgrades when they come in I'd really appreciate it. I dont play, just watch you and I dont have time at work to Google the upgrades. Thanks
That 4th game, I had something very similar where I was Villese going Cavalry Archers, from watching it from a casting point of view its so obvious why it wasn't working
1:15:02 I suppose them patching out any *unintended* game logic. Deleting mangonels shouldn't change anything, IMO. And, frankly, I don't think you should be able to place a building foundation on Gaia units to bug them out. At the end of the day, they're small issues, but I always support devs patching things that they never explicitly meant to be a feature.
Yo is such an impressive player. He is absolutely relentless, if you give him the tiniest opening, he will immediately seize it and snowball it. Of course that is what pro players do, all of them, but Yo and Viper are in a league of their own. He and Jordan were the most fun in this tourney, to me.
Having the low scout benefitted Villese first game. It baited Yo, and then Villese was able to use the map to his advantage. Villese alternated scouting equally top and bottom, while Yo chased on one side and had to move all the way back home before switching sides.
Hey T90! Thanks for casting this. Always enjoy your videos. There is one request I have though. Can you extend all such games to a random consistent time. Like just make both the semi finals 4 hours each and the final a 5-hour video. Just do that and I won't know half-way through the video what the result is going to be (as in this video). I have heard Memb does something similar. Was wondering if you could do the same as I really enjoy your casting and watch only your AOE2 videos.
Sadly if he does this, the youtube algorithm really nerfs his whole channel since people don't watch the last third or half of his videos since they are blank so the algorithm thinks people don't like his videos.
Just out of curiosity - I'm pretty new to this game. Why would you want to ban laming? Seems like a valid strategy to me that differentiates players on their skill levels which is always a good thing, if you ask me.
Really loved the casting from both T90 and Hera. It is always great to see a T90 cast but with Hera, it is even better. Spoilers Game 3 was just amazing, Italians are supposed to be the stronger water civ but Yo really flipped the script there.
Guys, I'm not much into tech and stuff, so could you please tell me if any of these have a good enough configuration to play AoEDE? AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (3.4/3.9 GHz, 16M) AMD RX 550 4GB 8 GB DDR4 2666 MHz 1TB 5400rpm 256 GB SSD M.2 NVMe Or the same but with Intel Pentium Gold G6405 (4.1GHz, 4M) Or AMD Ryzen 5 5500U (2.1/4.0GHz,8M) AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 Graphics 8 GB DDR4 Supports M.2 SSD, Supports 2.5" SSD/HDD 512 GB SSD M.2 NVMe Thank you very much! I'm dying to play the game lol :D
ACCM was far more better player compairing Villese as I could see from last 2 video I watched..Yo is monster . When it comes to unit control and map control Villese is really not a match for Yo clearly..
when i saw yo in quarterfinal and viper didn't, i instantly reacted "" yo gonna win this event". Actually, I don't like watching yo 's game, because he 's games look similar
Gah, for such a fantastic series, I feel let down by the Japanese v. Portuguese match. Japanese have such a strong infantry bonus, and yet a pro level player chooses to go ... Knights, which Japanese have no bonuses for. I see Japanese go for Arbalest more often than I see them their own civ specialty, and from a strategy perspective it's not even the wrong choice because of how weak infantry is in general for any civ that doesn't have a crazy pierce armor bonus like Malians, Goths, or at least Sicillians. I'd love for militia-line infantry to have a buff, and if not, at least give Japanese a co-specialty, like how Teutons have uniquely strong Knights, Mongols have excellent Hussars to frontline their Cavalry Archers, or how Britons naturally and organically fit Halbs to frontline for their excellent archers. Imagine Japanese had something crazy like Mangos having free ballistics, and suddenly every Japanese player is spending wood and gold on Onagers to back their army.
The fourth Game ... Yeah Villese hat the stronger army ... but no offensive use , cav archers are bad vs buildings and Cavalleres arent . If you attack do you gonna die faster then killing ... thats the thing
Lame that one player gets to dominate the tournament like this. The 4-3 come back was fun to watch, but this finals was boring after a few exciting games at first.
Hope you guys enjoyed the cast. I intentionally kept player names out of semis/finals to avoid spoilers 😎👍. Happy bingeing!
In semi final 1 there was a spoiler but awesome cast much love 💕
Hera co-casting is so OP
But not as good as T90 co-casting DauT
#TeamDauT
Good call keeping the names out, that always ruined ESL SC2 tourneys for me.
wish JorDan did the same. Was working through the quaters when his video spoiled it
I’m so glad there are so many loyal pro players and casters sticking to the game!
ikr, wish they get doubled tripled but the game is quite old for that :*(
Watching AOE 2 tournament for the first time in my life, I have to say, this is insanely enjoyable, so mucb better than most E sports.
I just binged semis and the final, and I must say, kudos to T90 (&Hera) superb analysis, entertaining commentary and I really appreciate the "no spoilers" policy on the titles.

1:00:25 This is isn't your house, but you live here now !
Magnificient spontaneous gameplay & quote, good job :D
6:00 As a baseball coach, I always advise my players to put a wall in the south to protect the berries…
Don’t let anything dangerous touch the southern berries and bush
Actual genius and wisdom here.
Hera is a welcomed addition to the cast
Dear mr t-90. I don't play this game. I recently discovered you through the algo and I am for some weird reason hooked on watching you cast this ancient game I didn't even like when it was current.

The game is technically not ancient anymore since the de came out just a couple of years ago :P
"This isnt your house but you live here now" -t90 best jokes

what I thought exactly lol
It took me a while to get that!
lol i was wondering what that was referencing! I'm sure it is Brazil v Germany
10:43 is just Godly awareness from Yo
Hey T90, was there a post-match interview or anything?
I was looking forward to hearing Yo's reaction and thought process on those game changer decisions he took throughout the series.

There was no interview sadly, Yo had another Best of 7 to play vs Villese right after. (He won that one 4-1 btw)
playing this game since 1999, 24 years!! This is the goose laying the golden egg for Microsoft. Love that this game is so well loved and played in 2024, lets GO!!!
Wonderful series of casts!!
great to see a low elo caster and a low elo legend casting together xD
Wtf is low elo legend lol
sick casting booth duo, my favourite caster and my favourite pro
Honestly yo won my support in this set, the little things and the ability for him to play as unorthodox as lyx but still play super clean is insane.
T90 + Hara = Excellent cast! More please :D
I like how scorpions are all Like:
*Eekum Bokum*
So age of empires 2 grew big, so what did they do? Took over... Spammed this channel and hera content so youtube is unwatchable and useless.
at first i thought the whole video would just be Hera acting like he was T90
I had to double-check the channel.. 😄
Love the duo T90&Hera - very nice cast
That last game was the best. The fetoria civ was leveraged to the max. Mid game gives the PORT a much greater pop. If extra military buildings are used, than a much smaller army will win if there is a relentless push. The fetorias enable a relentless push.

t90 has insane memory of past games. Grandmaster of aoe
1:49:40 - when you ask T90 *anything* : I THINK IT, IT HIGHLY, IT REALLY DEPENDS.
I like how it took best of nine to bring out poles civilization. Then everyone says they are OP. I don't recall anyone picking them in semi-finals. More players should try more civilizations, it would be fun to watch. People are really sleeping on poles.

Good casting and good final T90!
Jordan: towers aren't that effective anymore
Also Jordan: gets towered out of the semis by Villese in game 7
Hera is a great caster
That 4th game, I had something very similar where I was Villese going Cavalry Archers, from watching it from a casting point of view its so obvious why it wasn't working
The Player, Caster & Co-Caster everyone was awesome!!
Yo is such a fun player to watch, he always has some off meta mind game going on that throws his oppponent off 😂😂😂
Great tournament. Love the format.
Wooooooooo Hera guest commentator
What a nice caster duo
That Yucatan game was unbelievable.
1:15:02 I suppose them patching out any *unintended* game logic. Deleting mangonels shouldn't change anything, IMO. Unpopular opinion: AoE conpetitive is better RTS tournament than SC2
Took a bit of a break from watching AoE2 content. What happened to Viper? Not in the final here?
Yo is such an impressive player. He is absolutely relentless, if you give him the tiniest opening, he will immediately seize it and snowball it.
Of course that is what pro players do, all of them, but Yo and Viper are in a league of their own.

Hera commentary for basically any game -> so strategy! you make hussars... *cricket sounds* - AND? -> no and - just make hussars and win
51:30 the pros again advocating for the low elo strategy of taking forwards resources first.
Tbf, for that four hour set, that was $100/hour... I'd be motivated too lol.
Hera is a pretty good caster too
Happy to see my favorite civ poles win
Great casting, can you do a 5 minute interview and ask about that tower and other questions in general.
Villese really seemed unconfident to win most of these rounds. So many mistakes done because of this and it was so terrifying to watch!
Hey T90! Thanks for casting this. Always enjoy your videos.
There is one request I have though. Can you extend all such games to a random consistent time. Like just make both the semi finals 4 hours each and the final a 5-hour video. Does anyone know what happen to vipper haven't see him play in events lately....last time I saw him was with Mr yo and he lost 3 to 0
Is is "Vill - Ease" or "Vill - Ez"? T90 always says the later but Hera seems to be constant in the former.
That sounds like Hera, not Jordan
If its french it should be the latter
It's Vill-es-eh with the first syllable being stressed.
The "e" at the end has its own syllable. Like how JorDan pronounces it in the Villese vs Miguel quarter finals.
It's Ville + Se, Ville is his name and it's pronounced like it's written Vil-le.
Great casting duo
Hera good
great casting with hera!! :)
Villese throwing games lol
Awesome watch!!! anyone know why Mayans not picked?
Hey T90 would you consider making us a video showing how the AoEII rankings have changed over the past few years?
nice casting
Here.We.Go.
I looked at the time that its roughly similar to the other match and proceed to assume Yo steamrolled this.
you cast with hera to then link jordans youtube in the description? :D
yooooo can anyone tell me how you get more maps like these?
game 4 was hard to watch i mean why villese doesnt wall has base or close up any entries into his base is so frustrating to witness
agreed he could have also shot down the trebs with his CA ball before Yo built the castle
Hera is a really nice co-caster!
Just out of curiosity - I'm pretty new to this game. Why would you want to ban laming? Seems like a valid strategy to me that differentiates players on their skill levels which is always a good thing, if you ask me.
10:00 Yo is just a maphacker.
where are you when Yo got champion in offline game and on-cameras. Barking and taking no responsibility, simply a dog.
Is the fact that Hera is co-casting related to the fact that viper is nowhere on the semifinals? Like, were they unable to enter this tournament?
Hera is a great co-caster
tatars do get bombard cannon btw
T90 did you already ask Yo if he did this boss-move in game 4 intentionally to wait with the dock until Villese should've scouted the shore-line?
10/10
Legit thought this was a Hera video at the start 11
Why is viper not in this tournament?
He was still only playing AoE4 when it started I believe.
@@Kozuu7 :'(
I think more than best of 7 is just too much.
you would love viper vs jordan best of 21
@@alexjean4466lol nobody got time for that, I'm still watching this video 3 days later
Aoe2 is sick!
Game 4 was very annoying that Villese didnt wall his base and then walls but walls half way with openings.
Bump for the Bump God!
Really loved the casting from both T90 and Hera. It is always great to see a T90 cast but with Hera, it is even better.
Spoilers
Game 3 was just amazing, Italians are supposed to be the stronger water civ but Yo really flipped the script there.

@@Dynamic-cy8wn What do you mean?
AOE2 is one of the best games ever made imo. 3 just didnt have the same vibe.
Vilesse was trowhing so hard on so many oppertunities, Could and should have won, But choked al the way
Yo is so clutch!
Guys, I'm not much into tech and stuff, so could you please tell me if any of these have a good enough configuration to play AoEDE?

when i saw yo in quarterfinal and viper didn't, i instantly reacted "" yo gonna win this event". Actually, I don't like watching yo 's game, because he 's games look similar
Is that Hera? I thought he stopped playing aoe2.
He came back like vivi came back
He's done with aoe4 and is back on the aoe2 content
