- My total kill count for Nakarkos is 22 with probably only a third of them done solo, so clearly I still have a lot to learn about Nakarkos and 9 minutes isn't even nearly the best a Prowler can do but if this video can convince more people that Prowlers aren't weak at all, then I'm already happy with it.

This is so insane. Sub ten with a cat. Narkarkos is supposed to be a big scary Elder Dragon. Got put down by a little cat. I'm sure the guild had field day with that!

That's because the Big Boomerangs (red) + Piercing Boomerangs (blue) combo is broken. Also note the cat is Fighting bias, Support gauge charges quicker than other cats when fighting.
I prefer to use my first cat, and only that cat, as a Prowler. Charisma isn't the best bias for hunting monsters in MHGen I admit, but the moves and skills he's preset with (Dung Bombay, Earplugs, Negate Poison/Wind), come in handy surprisingly often.
Lol ain't the first time, just recently I killed Nakarkos as a prowler XD took about 30 minutes tho XD

I just got into it recently. Had my eyes on the series for quite a while and when I saw the entire Re;Birth trilogy on steam for 15 bucks during the summer sale, I couldn't resist to buy it anymore. Currently playing Re;Birth 2 and am absolutely loving it, the characters are so adorable

Nakarkos is probably one of the easier bosses to solo, IMO. He's fairly stationary and all his attacks have easy tells. He just has a metric fuckton of HP.

GoldenCyclone4 agreed, i clocked out on him at least 5 or 7 times trying to solo and no matter how i swapped my stuff i always timed out =( deaths are hardly the problem, the real problem is the time limit. He just has a butt ton of health and i cant seem to solo without clocking out a bunch of times, ended up farming him online

me too. deviants are hard to solo with prowlers, but aside from that, i use prowler as my main weapon. sns-adept is my sub. solid style with mounting capabilities.

Nakarkos was wasted in this game. He deserved a cutscene, and set-up creep factor that MH4U did for all it's monsters. Damn shame this game is locked at 30fps and has no rewatchable monster intros...
I agree so much with you omg, that's really what this game lacked imo, imagine alatreon or amatsu intros with the same quality as the ones for the big four (mizu ect...), it would have been amazing 😗😯

Archangel Pond are you attacking the shell? if you only hit the shell you do like zero damage. i made this mistake early on a lot more than id like to admit and my poor setup didnt make this any better at the time.... before took me the whole timer as a prowler to beat him, now takes me only 12-15 minutes to beat him solo as a prowler....

wow nice time, my best is 12mins 34secs as a healer prowler (for backup since im not perfect). i had non stick fur+ear plugs+ horn virtouso (and some other stuff i forgot). for moves i did pierce boomerang+ big boomerang then used acorn muncher when i start so i can do boomerang combo at the beginning of the fight.
going to shoot for 10 or 11 minutes another time, you beat me both in skill and power setups (not enough offensive skills equipped for me but i will likely stick to acorn muncher instead of last stand for personal preference, plus i can use the boomerang abilities when i start a fight that way =) such a shame prowlers are notoriously underestimated, its the skill of the player more than the weapon/ mode in the end...

Nargycu just get high rank okami gear and the high rank silverwind nargacuga prowler weapon with big and piercing boomerangs. Now for skills I would suggest boomerang pro and critical up large

P.S. prowlers arent bad fighters nor bad at surviving arracks. prowlers are acctually versatile classes they can fulfill healing, damadge, support and mounting they arent crappy and the only reason if the reader thinks there crappy is cause you dont know how to use this versatile cat of versitality

same topic, another question: With last stand, do you only loose the acorns or the ability to revive completely, so that youve only got one try on every quest? Means, one cart and youre done?

My main prowler has Critical Up (S), Critical Up (L), and Boomerang Pro. Does that sound good enough with Silverwind Star and the moves you listed? And do you know how that matches up against hunter damage?
Finnick MD just use high rank okami gear or the people squad gear for 55% affinity build i would suggest that you use the high rank silverwind nargacuga prowler weapon if you know what your doing and don't care about defense

Lol, just recently, I killed a Nakarkos for the first time, and got two soul orbs. One from the weak spot, and one from the body carve.
Finished a quest I almost needed the whole 50mins for on my first try in under ten time to kms

Canta, why the Nargacuga weapon? I used the Shagaru one myself and considering boomerang builds are spam heavy, is there a particular reason?
Because the Narga weapon is stronger.

I haven't done the math, but I tried it with both the Silverwind and the Shagaru weapon and the Silverwind weapon got better results

I don't quite remember what the prowler rage mode does, care to explain? And yeah, i know that they aren't weak, people think so cuz they are just some small cats with boomerangs
He deals more damage and has à new attack:XA+ lots of X+XA. But this combo is not really good

Btw this is very impressive.
I believe it's default for some support Palicos but you can teach it to others once you get a cat with the skill
from assist palicos and to teach it to other palicos you have to hunt a cephadrome with that palico.

not really best, but it should be in top 3. personally, i think the strongest is the deadeye weapon, next is hellblade and thats my third. but poison can be really weak to other monsters. then again if your skills are crit based, it should be the best. i prefer to change weapon depending on the enemy's weakness though.

Critical up is truly better then atk up? Why?
it takes less skill points, allowing you to fit in more skills. Also, cats have a lot more atk, so they profit more from a relative attack boost.

in mh4u i was looked down apon for using sns and in mhgen i am scolded often for using prowler. don't let that get to u just keep on hunting. remember not every weapon is for everybody. if u let it get to u, u won't enjoy the game for ur self and thats wrong.
+Utopia-kid.616 these are facts. In mh3u everyone would call me a noob for using kelbi bow with full gigginox armor (probably the most op set in the entire game) but I didn't give a fuck cause I was out their soloing hallowed JHIN Mohran while they couldn't beat gold beard ceadeus with 4 people XD

a prowler is nowhere near as strong as a hunter prowlers are a nice feature but need a buff in my opinion
+killer chemostar don't think this is true sns hammer bow and ig are good weapons
+killer chemostar prowler is outclassed by all hunters with hunter arts and demon drugs and other things prowler just can't keep up

^ Those are the records for the best times of each weapon for this particular quest. As you can see, Prowler has the 4th best time, only beat by DB, SA and HBG. Prowler is no slouch

Gaming oD That's just the raw damage. Overall 350 prowler damage is around ~160 hunter damage.
