i don't know why TH-cam put this as a recommendation on my front page, but i used to have a 98 Rav4 and it was a great car that i put about 50K miles on. Manual just like this one.
rav4s seem to have the unique ability to literally be incapable of death. had a 95 rav4 that drove like 1.5 hours (almost made it to 2) with a leaking radiator before being towed.
hey brandon , this is nahom from Ethiopia ( east Africa ), ummmmm I opened your content with disbelieve that a 1997 rav 4 can be sold for 900$ , cause here in addis you can get a decent one for 9,000 $ upto 10,000 $ on average (I have a proof if you want it ) . I know that's sounds unreal but felt the same when you said " I just got it for 900$ " .................Ethiopia ain't a country for car owners.(mostly for any thing :(
Perhaps, you can set a business in the states flipping these cars and transporting them to willing buyers. It's the same in Tanzania and all African countries. Remember why Africa is poor though. 😊
