I'd just like to point out that Shadow warrior has had the dash ability since the first game from the reboot trilogy back in 2013 so that's one aspect Doom Eternal seems to have copied from it instead of the other way around
Me being both a first person shooter fan as well as a fan of the Shadow Warrior IP since the 1997 original Build Engine version SW3 was a must have for me. SW3 is my second most recent game on Steam to hit my Perfect Games list thanks to getting all achievements out of my sixteen total games on Steam that I currently have as Perfect Games. The game I got after that on said Steam list is fellow FPS game Forgive Me Father. I'm a millennial who grew up playing boomer shooters such as Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Dark Forces, as well as the Shareware port of the original Shadow Warrior. Great video review btw! Shadow Warrior's original 1997 iteration was an Asian inspired Duke Nukem 3D, the 2013 reboot was an Asian inspired Painkiller, SW2 was an Asian inspired Borderlands, and this one in SW3 is an Asian inspired Doom Eternal.
Yes it is better! Somehow SW3 makes Eternal feels clunky ! If only the campaign was longer then it had been a fact but as it is Eternal do to length is better but shadow warrior 3 feels better
Shadow Warrior definitely has more levels with traps. Something DOOM Eternal only does a few times, and those are the best levels. But I think DOOM Eternal is better. There was a brief period of time, where I said SW3 was better, but I take that back due to DOOM having more content and more of a skill floor.
But is it better than doom eternal...the campaign is short so it definitely doesn't look to be worth 50 dollars...I can definitely swallow another doom clone if it is better...
It being a Doom clone, is not somethin I'm happy about because I honestly didn't like modern Doom... But from what I'm seeing, SW3 momentum feels much better compared to Doom. The thing I hate about modern Doom is how it became like a fucking tactical shooter instead...out of ammo ? You have to use chainsaw... You want health ? Do a gory kill....you want armor ? Burn the enemies first then kill them...since when playing Doom is such a fucking chore ?? It was meant to be Fast, Simple and have ton of ammo just keep shooting at enemies feeling a badass...just like Wolfenstein honestly, Thank God they didn't change that game too much... Not like what we have now...all those FORCED playstyle just really ruin the game for me and the momentum of a fast pace shooter game.... Hell I feel more rush while playing Titanfall 2 PVP compared to Doom Eternal, because it's still fast and yet simple.

Just a small gripe, the traversal is more like a combination of God of war 3 and doom eternal.
Also shadow warrior 2 was pretty ass so dont play it
