Cult no. Heretics? Yes. No offense.
When you say the bible has errors. You are saying a perfect infinite God cannot preserve his perfect infinite word. Anything you build upon that, by discounting Timothy as a reliable teaching, even though it says scripture makes up perfect, is a castle built on sand. Saying we can be more perfect than perfect from scripture, by creating new doctrine. Is exactly what the bible warns against, so many times.
You make God fallable, by your own admission that his word has not been preserved. And take away Pauls authority, given to him by God by discounting what he teaches in Timothy because he teaches it to a certain people.
But with God, a teaching is for all men for all time. Its not just a here and now thing, its God's literal word. And thats not even getting into the whole we can be sinless and just be taken to heaven. When John said, If we claim to be without sin, we decieve ourselves and the truth is not in us.
There is no foundation, you ripped it up. And tried to build a house on sand.

In the 1838 account of JS vision, he claimed Jesus told him that all churches were wrong (don’t join any), all Christian creeds are an abomination and all its professors are corrupt. The church had fallen into complete apostasy with the gospel needing to be restored and the Church reorganized.
If Jesus is the Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23) and promises to protect His Bride so that even the gates of hell would not prevail against it (Matthew 16:17-18), how could the Gospel have been corrupted and His Church fallen into complete apostasy?
      1. What entity other than the gates of hell prevailed against His Church, causing the true gospel and His Church to be wrong/lost?
      2. What power greater than Christ, did His church succumb too?
      3. Did Jesus break His promise of protection, evidenced in Her need to be reorganized?
      4. Would Jesus talk poorly about His Bride to anyone?
The LDS claim of needed restoration is ultimately accusing Christ of being a liar, weak, incompetent and unfaithful.
      2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

      @yahushadiedforyou หลายเดือนก่อน

We are to only follow our savior Yahusha not any man made religion. (Jesus is not his real name, letter J was only invented 500 years ago).
John 4:1 warns: "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." Testing the spirits is vital because of "many false prophets" in the world.
Our Heavenly Father Yahuah gave us a method of how to test a prophet to determine whether they are true or false. In Deuteronomy 18:21-22, Moses wrote “You may say to yourself, ‘How can we recognize a message the Lord has not spoken?’ When a prophet speaks in the Lord’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.”
Father Yahuah provides us with this warning so that we know how to test anyone who claims to be a prophet.
Joseph Smith repeatedly made prophetic claims “in the name of the LORD” that did not happen.
Here are just 3 of his prophecies that failed to happen:
1.) In 1835, Joseph Smith prophesied that the Lord’s coming was only a few decades in the future, specifically, he predicted that the Lord would come in fifty-six years (History of the church vol. 2 p.182). Fifty six years from 1835 would reach 1891. Yahusha did not return within fifty-six years when 1891 arrived.
2.) Joseph Smith prophesied in 1832 that the New Jerusalem would be built in Western Missouri and that within the New Jerusalem would be erected a temple during the lifetime of those hearing his revelation (Doctrines and Covenants 84:1-5). This did not happen. He stated three times that a temple would be built there. "For verily this generation shall not pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord..." (D&C 84:2-5,31). To this day, no temple has been built there.
3.) He also prophesied that the rebellion of South Carolina and the War between the States would result in war being "poured out on all nations" (D&C 87:2,3), yet no other nations participated in the Civil War. He said the war would result in a "full end of all nations" (D&C 87:6), but not even one nation ended. And he said the war would occur "previous to the coming of the Son of Man (D&C 130:12). The war ended in 1865, but Yahusha still has not returned. These prophecies did not come to pass.
The criteria of a true prophet is not failing when predicting the future. This is because God makes no mistakes when he tells us what will happen. He said “For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done” (Isaiah 46:9-10).
Yahusha also warned us: "Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." This is not telling us to examine a prophet's good works. Many false prophets have many good works. The fruit of a prophet is his prophecies. One false prophecy makes them a false prophet, even if some true prophecies are given.
Yahusha also warned us that false prophets are able to perform great signs and wonders (Matthew 24:24).
A false prophet will never say, "I am a false prophet. Follow me!" He will appear to be a true prophet. This is part of the "sheep's clothing” that our Savior warned us about.
If Joseph Smith was a true prophet, his predictions should always come true. If any of his predictions ever failed, this would prove he was not a true prophet and we should not follow him according to our Heavenly Fathers test of a true prophet in Deuteronomy 18:20-22.
Satan deceived angels who were in the presence of our Heavenly Father, convincing them to rebel against Him.
If satan was able to deceive angels we can only imagine how many deceptions he has created in this world.
Our salvation is the most important thing so we need to make sure we diligently seek out the truth for ourselves.
Our Father warned us that our hearts can deceive us and He cautions us not to base our faith on feelings. But Mormon Scriptures describe the way to recognize truth as a "burning in the bosom" and a "feeling."
Scriptures warn us that feelings are not how to discern truth from error:
Jeremiah 17:9 - “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?”
Jeremiah 10:23 - Proper guidance regarding right and wrong does not come from inside man. It comes from outside man. Nothing within man can indicate whether or not a message is from God. That would include feelings or a burning in the bosom.
Proverbs 14:12 - “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”
Since feelings come from within man, they cannot give assurance of truth.

As you continue to study, please consider this. In the 1838 account of Joseph Smiths first vision, Smith claims that Jesus told him this, (Jesus speaking of all Christian churches) “I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
Joseph was told that the Gospel needed to be restored and the Church reorganized. The Church had fallen into complete apostasy.
Now consider this. If Christ is the head of His Church/Bride (Ephesians 1:22-23) and promises to build and protect His Church (Matthew 16:17-19 -…and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it), ask the missionaries next time you see them these 4 questions:
      1. What greater thing than the gates of hell was able to prevail against(defeat) His Church.
      2. To what power, greater than Jesus, did His Church succumb too?
      3. Did Jesus break His promise, failing to protect His Bride?
      4. Would Jesus, the head of His Church, speak so poorly of His Bride to Joseph Smith?
Please continue in your research and study, and pray th that these missionaries come to a real faith in Christ.

In an era where religious discourse is often marred by misunderstanding and misrepresentation, "Mormonism and the Restored Gospel of Christ" emerges as a beacon of clarity and scholarship. This book is not merely an apologetic defense of Mormon theology but a profound exploration of its roots, its alignment with early Christian doctrines, and its relevance in contemporary religious dialogue.
Eugene Seaich out with a dual purpose: to elucidate the tenets of Mormonism for those outside the faith and to deepen the understanding of these doctrines among Latter-day Saints themselves. The book's strength lies in its ability to bridge these audiences, offering a narrative that is both accessible to the uninitiated and enriching for the devout.
Central to the book is the argument that many doctrines unique to Mormonism, often dismissed as "unbiblical" or "non-Christian," were in fact integral to early Christian belief. Dr. Seaich meticulously documents how concepts such as the preexistence of the soul, the Three Degrees of Glory, and the deification of man were well-known among early Christians and have been substantiated by modern scholarship. This historical context not only validates these doctrines but also situates Mormonism within the broader Christian tradition.
One of the most compelling sections of the book is its discussion on salvation. The author deftly navigates the theological complexities surrounding grace, works, judgment, and reward. By distinguishing between salvation as "redemption from sin" and as "a reward for goodness," the book offers a nuanced understanding that reconciles seemingly contradictory scriptural statements. This clarity is invaluable for readers from various Christian denominations who grapple with these concepts.
The exploration of the Atonement, described as "At-One-Ment," is particularly enlightening. The author draws from the writings of Paul and John to illustrate how believers can achieve oneness with the Divine. This spiritual union, central to Mormon soteriology, transcends mere moral striving and taps into a transformative righteousness that is both divine and accessible.
Furthermore, the book delves into the nature of God and the concept of deification. It challenges the traditional Trinitarian view that separates God from humanity, advocating instead for a "participatory monotheism" where humans can share in God's divine nature. This theological perspective not only aligns with early Christian thought but also offers a hopeful vision of human potential and destiny.
Dr Seaich does not shy away from addressing controversial aspects of Mormon theology. By incorporating the findings of non-LDS scholars, the book reinforces the legitimacy of its claims and demonstrates that many Mormon beliefs have ancient precedents. This scholarly rigor is complemented by a clear and engaging writing style, making complex theological concepts accessible to a broad readership.
In conclusion, "Mormonism and the Restored Gospel of Christ" is a groundbreaking work that invites readers to reconsider their preconceptions about Mormonism. It presents a well-reasoned and thoroughly researched case for the continuity of Latter-day Saint doctrines with early Christian beliefs. For Mormons, it is a source of affirmation and deeper understanding; for others, it is an invitation to a respectful and informed dialogue. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the intersections of history, theology, and faith.

Finances didn't show that the Church was presently worth $230billion and recently was fined $5million by the Federal Commerce Commission for hiding finances in shell corporations. And for 6 years in its history, it was renamed "The Church of the Latter-Day Saints", omitting the name of Jesus in the title. Mormons teach a gospel contrary to the gospel taught by Christ. I live next to the Navajo Reservation. Even though one might claim to be a Navajo, if they are not born of Navajos, they ARE NOT Navajos. The same can be said of Mormons. Just because Mormons claim to be Christians, the FACT that they proclaim a god NOT of the Bible and a Christ NOT of the Bible excludes them from the family of historical Christians.

The Fathers name YAHUAH has been removed from the Bible over 6,000 times and replaced with the title LORD even though Yahuah commands us to call upon, pray to, declare and confess His NAME. It should never have been removed from the Bible because of a Jewish superstition of not saying Gods name.
His people should KNOW His name (Isa 52:6, Prov 30:4, Ps 91:14, 1 Kings 8:43).
We are told to “call on His name”many times (Zeph 3:9, Isa 12:4, Zech 13:9, Ps 20:7, Ps 116:13&17, Chron 16:8, 1 kings 18:24, Ps 105:1, Ps 80:18, Ps 99:6).
The 3rd Commandment is to not take His name in vain. The word “vain” in the Hebrew language means - emptiness, nothingness. Not using His name is making it unimportant and bringing it to nothingness.
In addition, instead of faithfully TRANSLITERING the Hebrew Name of the Messiah into Greek words that would convey the pronunciation and MEANING of the Name of Messiah Yahusha (Yahuah is Salvation), it is replaced with the false, unbiblical name “Jеsus”. That was not His name when He walked this earth and it still isn’t his name.
There is no letter J in greek, Hebrew or Aramaic and J was not even in the English language till about 1660 so the fathers name could have never been Jehovah and the sons name could never have been Jesus. Jehovah- Hovah in Hebrew means a ruin, disaster.
Yahusha says we are to worship in spirit and in truth. The truth is that our Saviors name is Yahusha, not Jesus. There is only one name under heaven by which men will be saved (Acts 4:12, John 4:23-24).
We are told multiple times in scripture to honor His name, therefore we should call Him by His true name and His Sons true name.
The name of the Father consists of only four Hebrew characters, reading right to left as exhibited in ancient documents as יהוה Yod Hey Wov Hey (YHWH in Latin letters). Hebrew letters are actually pictographs of actual things.
      * 1st letter, Yod = Y sound and was anciently portrayed as a symbol of a hand.
      * 2nd letter, Hey = H sound and means behold.
      * 3rd letter Wov = OO sound and means nail.
      * 4th letter Hey is repeated agan and means behold.
If we read from left to right, His name means “Behold nail, behold hand”. Absolutely Amazing! Praise His name! His plan for salvation was depicted in His name from the very beginning! Just as our Savior was the lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8).
Yahuahs name points to the son
And Yahushas name points to the father.
The fathers name should never have been removed and the Saviors name should never have been changed. His name is forever (Exo. 3:15, Ps. 72:17)
      Pronunciation of Yahuah
The “Yah” part is certain, since it is repeatedly recorded directly in the Old Testament (e.g. Psalm 68:4), both as its own “shortened version” of the name and as part of the whole name.
So where does the “HU” sound come from?
We find it in biblical names that contain the name of Elohim YAH, for example:
YeshaYahu (known in English as Isaiapjgh, which means “Yahuah has saved”)
YirmeYahu (from Jeremiah, which means “Yahuah will arise”)
MattihYahu (in Eng. Matthew, meaning “Yahuah’s gift”).
They are all pronounced “Yahu (Ya-hoo).”
Where is the AH part? The fourth letter of the tetragrammaton, “hey,” is somewhat controversial, but it clearly forms the “ah” sound, e.g. in (English) Judah, Hebrew Yahudah, and it is not Judeh or Yahudeh.
Thus, knowing that it certainly begins with YAH, then in virtually all contexts the next sound of the Creator’s name is HU (hoo), which is after YA(H), and given the sound of the last part, AH, is commonly heard in other words with the same Hebrew letters, it becomes clear that the name of our Creator is Yahuah!
It’s also worth noting that the Hebrew word YAHUDAH has the entire name YHWH spelled out, except for the letter “D-alet,” but we know how Yahudah (Judah) is pronounced to this day, and we know what it sounds like without the letter D-alet, and it is phonetically Yah-oo-ah (spelled Yahuah).
Almost that every hero of faith, king and prophet in the Bible had a name that included the Name “Yah”!
‘Lord' is not a true translation of His name. A translation conveys the meaning of a word or phrase into another language. His Name YHWH does not have the same meaning as the word Lord. His name means “I AM, I WAS, I WILL BE.” Lord is a title that means 'master.' It's not a name and therefore not a proper translation. Lord is used in place of יהוה (YHWH). They are substitutions, replacements - NOT simply an English version (or translation) of the Name.
Proper nouns - including names - are not translated. Names that are given to a specific individual are never translated changed to a different version. A name is a person's identity, and it does not change. Just look at the news. Reporters do not 'translate' foreign names no matter how difficult it is to pronounce.
      Isaiah 52:5-6
“...My name is continually blasphemed all day long. Therefore my people shall know my name; therefore in that day I am the one who is speaking, ‘Here I am.’” The word blasphemed in the strongs concordance means to spurn or to REJECT. He prophesied that His name would be rejected all day long.
      Exodus 3:15
“God, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘Yahuah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is MY NAME FOREVER, and this is My memorial-name to ALL GENERATIONS.”

There is MASS confusion in christianity about what Jesus Christ's message was during his mortal ministry. Luckily we were given a gift to clarify these teachings : an abridgment of the writings of ancient seers and revelators compiled by a historian who dedicated his life to this cause. "A man will get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book" said the Prophet of the last days. This "prophet of the last days" was a prophet for every person on Earth. This PROPHET is the mouth piece of the LIVING CHRIST -- the one and only -- the same Jesus Christ that all christianity worships. This PROPHET restored and clarified teachings of Jesus Christ that had been lost for hundreds of years through the Dark ages of apostasy. This PROPHET of the living Christ is Joseph Smith. And this historian's name who compiled and abridged the writing of the ancient prophets is Mormon. And we know these writings today as "The Book of Mormon"

The LDS Church has the stone in their archives that Joseph Smith put in a hat to block out the light, He looked at that stone and translated the BoM. You can also read about that in the 1990 article of "The Ensign," by M. Russell Ballard, an apostle. And as for Christians with their Bible, there is no original copy of the manuscripts that were used to translate either the Old or the New Testaments so no one knows exactly what Jesus said.

Our belief is that Jesus is God, but is a separate being from God the Father. Jesus is God of all things with the Father working through Him. Our heavenly Father is a separate being and Christ is His servant and our advocate with the Father. Jesus is the creator which is why sometimes He is called father, which he is to our bodies. Jesus is our king and is God, he simply does all this in our Heavenly Father's name

    • @blusheep2

@@Kayson-Muir Thank you for your participation. I don't know that he needs a defense though. I'm just encouraging him to read up on it better so that he can judge it honestly.
The reason Christians arrive at the trinity is because of two things. First, Isaiah 43:10 where God says, "before me no God was formed nor will there be any formed after me." Its about as clear as you can get. There is only 1 God. Second, there are things that we are told are held only by God. Salvation and the right to forgive sins, among other things. So if Jesus saves and forgives sins and Isaiah makes it clear that there is only 1 God then something is going on here. Third, we see this mult-nature of God throughout the OT. When God sends men off to Sodom, god is manifested on earth, and when the judgment is made on Sodom, it says that God(YHWH on earth) calls down from God(YHWH) in heaven. This would fit your theology if Isaiah 43:10 and many like it didn't exist, but they do.
Then of course we have the famous verses, "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God." Not "a god." We have in Phil 2. Jesus not considering equality with GOD something to be grasped humbled Himself and took on the form of a bond-servant. Then finally we have God the father being called the Almighty, Alpha and Omeg, first and last, beginning and the end. Who else is called these terms in Revelation? Jesus.
I am actually confused by Mormon theology so if you can clarify any of it, I would appreciate it. It seems very inconsistent to me. You have prophets but many of the prophets teachings aren't codified, so are they prophets or not? I really don't understand the nature of salvation because I don't understand what we are being saved from? It feels like the language is borrowed but it doesn't mean the same thing. I also don't understand marriage in the Mormon church. We hear that its about eternal marriage even though the Bible says there is no marriage in heaven and what we've heard is that eternal marriage is necessary to have spirit children, which is also a concept I don't understand since Joseph taught that we are all eternal intelligences.
That was quick an a lot of things. Don't feel the need to answer them all. Just pick one if your willing and we can discuss that one, and we can continue to discuss the trinity if you have other questions.

Some Christian churches accept the fact that men make mistakes. If you don't think there are any mistakes, just ask me to tell you those scripture verses and I will. I took several online lecture courses from religious departments of universities and a divinity school. Having errors doesn't mean the Bible is not inspired. LDS member here, who what you guys call Mormon! I just wanted to say that most stuff here is true but not true at the same time! My friend from another church had came to me showing me this exclaiming about how she is spreading false information about my church! Every Sunday, we go to church. Our church lasts 2 hours. The first hour is sacrament meeting! That's when 3-4 people give talks about topics that they were given by our bishop! Before the talks, we take the sacrament. We focus on hor Jesus was resurrected, unlike most churches who focus on him dying for us! We have 2 books, The Bible and book of Mormon! The Book of Mormon is a series of prophets or just people who like had experiences like Nephi and Moroni! At the end, I believe Moroni challenges us to pray to Heavenly Father, not Jesus, about the book of Mormon. People assume that we are Mormons because of the Book of Mormon, but we are infact Latter Day saints, which are Christians! Sundays for us are rest days! Your allowed to go on nature walks and watch TV, it just depends on your household rules! Missionaries aren't going to hunt you down lol, they just simply knock on your door to spread the gospel for the gathering of Israel! We pay 10% of earnings to our church to be used to build temples and donate to charity. The founder, Joseph Smith, translated the Book of Mormon and restored the church! Also, there has never been a rule that people of color can't attend our church! Yes, Cane was cursed with black skin for commiting the first murder, but that doesn't mean all people of color are cursed. Missionaries are called to serve and spread the gospel, they don't force anything. You can leave the church whenever you like, but we aren't a cult!

This was a good-faith effort to explain the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a member of the Church, I think they did a pretty good job.
The only thing I will clarify is Salvation. We believe that there a 3 degrees of glory in Heaven. In order to receive the highest degree of glory, one needs to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and strive daily to live the teachings of Jesus Christ. This may sound exclusionary, but one must keep in mind that the lowest degree of glory is so good that it passes anything we could ever imagine because nothing on earth compares to it. Here’s a teaching that gets most Christians outside of the Church riled up. A person DOESN’T need to be a Christian to receive the lowest degree of glory. But I strive to receive the highest degree of glory because Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want us receive all that they have. Anything less is disappointing to them. They want to receive the joy and glory they have, and through the grace of Jesus Christ, this is possible.

The printing press thing for example was in Nauvoo Illinois, a city completely built and governed by Latter-day Saints, and happened several years after the Saints left Missouri. Because in them, it says that all scripture is profitable for teaching in righteousness. And that also scripture can make one perfect. Then them adding to scripture, is saying perfect, isnt perfect enough. And that we can be more perfect.
And it also says, that God is not perfect. Because he didnt preserve his perfect word. Which is just...wrong. Idc how you look at it, anything they build past that, is a castle built on sand.
Had a long discussion. And it got to where they believe you can be sinless like Jesus, and be deathless and just taken to heaven. Which, if that happened even 1 time in their history, they would be telling the world. Or should, and if they arent. Then they arent testifying like they should. They also say they withhold teachings. Which...again is not biblical at all.
They are heretics. Plain and simple. Do not, and i mean do not go down this road.
They take away Pauls authority given to him by God, and say the bible has errors. Exactly same stuff islam does. So they can push their own stuff. Its the same in my viewpoint.

If someone is found to be a false prophet. There is no excuse to still follow them as such. You test Scripture with Scripture. Not follow blindly what you're told by men.
Run to Jesus. He's the only thing that we can trust in this place.

@@jordanmatthew6315 Because they didn't let blacks become priests? That's just how things worked in the 19th and 20th century. And those ideas actually don't come from Joseph Smith. He ordained several black people to the priesthoo. In fact, he ran for president on platform of freeing the slaves. anti-slavery beliefs is actually why the early Latter-day Saints were genocided in Missouri and Illinois. When Brigham Young instituted the ban, he got the idea from racist southern protestants, and even Brigham said that ban was only meant to be temporary and that one day blacks would have equal privilege. And while the rest of the country segregated blacks and whites, the Latter-day Saints refused to segregate their congregations, going as far as to call the KKK an evil cult at the height of their power, leading to thousands of Latter-day Saints to be lynched in the south in retaliation.

Because the Book of Mormon is an account of a Prophet named Lehi who left Jerusalem before it was to be destroyed. Lehi’s family sailed across the ocean and eventually landed somewhere in the Americas. The Book or Mormon is an account of the people who lived in ancient America and the visitation of Jesus Christ to the people on the American continent after his resurrection.
