Hi, Blimey unnies! Actually, Malaysia have government school and private school. For primary school, both uniforms' are same. But, it's different for secondary school (aged 13 till 17). National secondary school students wear national uniform as shown in the video. For national secondary students aged 18-19, study Lower Form 6 and Upper Form 6 (STPM), girls wearing white shirts and blue skirts (no pinafore). Boys are wearing white shirts and trousers.
But, students who study in private secondary school (aged 13-19) (eg : Chinese Independent Secondary School), boys and girls wear white shirts, trousers and skirts. For Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (I don't remember what to call in English), I don't know, because I haven't study in that school before :)

Prefect in school is more like teacher's helper in term of discipline and are responsible for the whole school, while class president only responsible for his/her own class only.
Prefect usually helps to make sure everyone line up properly during school assembly, and before class start (we usually line up in front of class, sing national anthem and pray before the first class start), at the canteen, help to make sure students keep quiet if teachers having meeting during school hours, etc.
The prefect president usually are selected by the teacher and usually is the best student.
Extra religious class after school is only for Muslim, so non-muslim have free time after school. In religious class during school hours, non-muslim usually have Moral and Civic Studies class so they will move to different classroom

    • @zuiwoshachang
      @zuiwoshachang 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

In Malaysia, prefects are not student representatives. As Nuriz said, they are students selected by teachers (whether elected or through an interview, it depends) to join the Prefect Board, where they will act as model students (hence a different uniform). It works more like a company than a presidential election -- you join as a member, slowly gain experience and trust from the teachers, get promoted into the committee or leadership positions in the Prefect Board. Usually joins during the first year of school, and will not be kicked from the Board without reason.

About the election of school president also quite same with Malaysia's school but only for MRSM...we call it BWP and its consist of 10 to 13 students..
I'm also from MRSM...me and some of my friends also got involved and the process are really long..usually it takes more than 2 months...we have to go through interviews, manifesto and some more to get votes from students...one of the interviews were managed by former BWP n the interview was quite embarrassing bcs they will order us to do some unusual things to prove our will to become BWP...
Some of my friends managed to become BWP and most of them have upper position such as president,vice-president and more...fortunately I didn't get elected😂😂
Bcs being BWP are really stressful bcs most of school events must be managed by them starting from arrangement, invitation, decoration and more...
They also must maintain students discipline...in short, all of works involving school must be managed by them..
They also must maintain their grades at the same time bcs teachers and students will look upon them...
My BWP friends are really stressed bcs it is hard to manages all things at the same time...

Depends on the school. Prefects used to be selected by the teachers and then there was this Students Rep with President etc that was voted in by the students. So my former secondary school had the briliant idea to merge both and have students vote. Only a handful of 'old' prefects were voted in cos they were hated by the students for being teachers pets+harsh on their peers. My juniors said it was fun to watch them trying to adjust to school life after being stripped of their privilages.

In Malaysia, it's not different uniforms (except private/international school) , it's different colours. Commonly, most school have blue colour uniforms for prefect students. But for my school, it's maroon colour uniforms for prefects and purple colour for librarians.
Edit: for my state (Johor), we have students that got selected as Student Leader Board (SLB) which is more powerful than prefects and there is 3 different level.
School : Student Leader Board (SLB)
District : District Student Leader Board (DSL/DSLB)
Johor (state) : Johor Student Leader Board (JSL/JSLB)
For JSL, they are the highest student leader and they even go to overseas. And they (SLB/DSL/JSL) have different uniforms, it's quite nice. They wore black blazer and white shirts underneath with necktie.

      @chyunazhammogu8574 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@@d5safieyyah5 I didn't get selected. The position not just for everyone. It's kind of different than prefects. For slb, the teacher will interview you, check your academic ranking, your communication skills, if you can speak well in front of ppl, if you have confidence, then you got selected. After they got selected as slb, to raise up your rank as dsl, you have to go to a camp that test you, then you got selected as slb and so on to be jsl. Jsl is the hardest one, you need to speak eng fluently bcs you'll go to another school to give a talk or to be a motivator. You even go overseas. Not all school have jsl position. It's difficult.
And, if you have slb/dsl/jsl position, don't transfer to another sch or you will lose that position. My friend almost become a jsl but he transferred to boarding school and unfortunately he lose the position. And at his current school, he's just a normal student.
So yeah, i'm only a prefect, not slb.

Usually the election for the prefect and librarian is by the students voluntarily and there will be an interview conducted by the teacher, and they will ask you whether you talented enough to carry the responsibilities.
Meanwhile, for the school president election will be selected by the teachers itself among the senior prefects.

my school process for BWP (Badan Wakil Pelajar) is hard. BWP is like the government of MRSM student. First you need to pass at least 3.00 pointer in 1st semester exam to eligible for the interview + teacher recommendation. At least over 100 students will be picked for the interview. Next stage is where they pick the official candidate for BWP where only about 30 student where picked. This stage is where the student have to present their manifesto. Then the voting day, student will vote the 16 out of 30 candidate they like based on their manifesto. Then the 16 who succeed will be given their own position consists of President, Vice, and Ministers (exco).

Election for prefect and librarian at least in my school are in the basis of applying to the jobs. Criteria must be that they do not fail any papers, do not do any wrongdoing before selections and the teacher in charge will have individual interview with us. The only one chosen by the students are class representatives which people suggests names and they are voted in class in front of the homeroom teacher. Having titles in schools are not that exclusive or fun but more as one of the criteria on being actives so that when applying for college or university. Its easier.

    1) sekolah kebangsaan (sk)
    2) sekolah kebangsaan agama(SRA).... SRA was build for muslim kids to learn about islam and to learn more about islam
    3) Sekolah Jenis kebangsaan cina (SJKC)... this school for Chinese members who wanted to learn how to speak and write in chine many of the Chinese kids goes ti SJKC...
4)sekolah jenis kebangsaan tamil (SJKT) .. This school for indians members the function just like SJKC..
    for a secondary school
    1) sekolah menengah kebangsaan (SMK)
    2) Sekolah menengah jenis kebangsaan china (SMJKC)
    3) Sekolah menengah jenis kebangsaan tamil (SMJKT)
    4)KOLEJ VOKASIONAL
    5)sekolah menengah teknik
    6)maktab rendah sains mara (MRSM)....
but any kid in Malaysia can go any school they want..it doesn't metter if you islam yoj go to SJKC OR SJKT same goes to Chinese and Indian kids if they wanted to go to the SK they can go.. because Malaysia are unique all races are all together and 'NO RACIST'... WE teach kid how to respect each other.. second about the school uniforms for Malaysia every Wednesday we wear different uniform we will wear " badan beruniform" every student need to be involved in co-curikulum or Malaysia say koko time.... and every friday malay students form secondary school need to wear "kain batik".... if anything you want to ask you can call me anytime you want... i really enjoy your videos i hope when you come to Malaysian you can enjoy yourself n make a lot of memories thanks for supporting malaysia thanks youu 🇲🇾🇲🇾❤️❤️❤️

    5. PUM (Persatuan Usahawan Muda also known as SEA, Students Entrepreneurs Association which focuses on small businesses in school)
    6. ALK (Ahli Lembaga Koperasi, which takes care of schools financials)
    7. BADAR (Badan Dakwah & Rohani, focuses on Islamic religious activities)
    8. PRS (Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya, also known as Peers Motivational Committee that focuses on motivational and counseling activities)

In Wednesday we need to wear uniforms like boy scouts and so on
Next on Thursday we will need to wear 'baju batik'....
On Friday we will have white top and 'kain songket'
    While for prefects....
    They will wear a blazer
And different types of top on Friday and Tuesday (base on my school BTW) (correct me if I'm wrong)
And then in Saturday we will have prep (more to like a preparations for next week's class or done their homework) from 8 a.m to 1 p.m
And then you are free to do whatever you want whether to stay in dorm or outing with your family or friends (but if student go outing with family you will have to ask permission from warden or with friends they will be turn whether it's girls turn or boys for each week... (but usually boys cuz take care of themself while girls will go out with family) )
And last on Sunday we will be free for all day long and students can also go outing with family only.....
And then you will experience the same thing everyday depends on the day.....
You will never have a free time except for weekend....
    Oh Ya... There's more
everyday students have to empty their dorm to perform their Maghreb and isya' prayer
After end the isya' prayer students will need to go to class for prep to done all of their homework or revise
At around 10:30 p.m students whether go straight to dorm or got to supper and then 10:50p.m students need read Surah al mulk 'only for Muslim while non Muslim will stay in dorm'(I'm sure every boarding school will memorise this Surah because they will read this everyday especially seniors will be confirmed to memorise it)
    (correct me if I'm wrong)
Lastly after 10 minutes students back to dorm and prepare for tomorrow class such as what to wear, what to bring and so on

My school didn't have broadcasting station... But we do have program in the morning. Between 7a.m until 7:40 a.m (learning session start) there are 3 students who need come to the office and be the DJ... Each day have different team. Like Monday for Counseling, Wednesday for English Day, Thursday for Malay Day. We don't have that programme on Tuesday and Friday. The person who need to be DJ already arrange. So they will do their work for the day they need too. Like me, I was scheduled every Monday. Monday session is special cause the student can be different person. Since it about Counseling, ofc it related to Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya (PRS) so Counseling teacher will ask who ever PRS member to become the DJ. No objections... Talking is the most important things in PRS.
PRS is one of the Society Members too.
In my school, we have some society. The main is Prefect,PRS and Librarian.
The other is SPBT (the one who manage text books), Koperasi (the One who manage small shop at our school. We called it is Koperasi).
And yeah.. we have different colour for each society. Unlike the one who didn't join the society, they just wearing white on top and light blue for the skirt.
    Prefect: Orange
    PRS: Purple
    Librarian: Blue
    SPBT: Yellow
    Koperasi: Green
The colour for the society depends on the school. For Prefects and Librarian, they must wear vest/blazer each Tuesday.
Okay...just that... Sorry if my English is kinda bad... Anyway I'm a high school student... 16 years old.

some of a few things I would like to add up!
› It is not necessary, but boys can wear baju melayu on friday, with white shirt and pants, with the addition of blue sarong.
› some school are required to wear batik (in a form of school uniform) on thursday as it is formal / batik day in malaysia. The batik fabric designs are different between schools and it is like how different schools in korea have different uniform design.
› Based on my experience, the president wasn’t elected by anyone, but instead the top honor student was chosen to be the student’s president
› Prefects tend to elect themselves and was chosen based on the recommendation from the teachers.
› We also have Christian schools here (eg. St. Thresa / St. Mary / St. Joseph / St. Thomas etc.) and they’re similar to Catholic or Buddhist schools where anyone from any religion can join it. There’s also Chinese and Indian schools, where some part of the curriculum uses chinese and indian, anyone can join the school as well.
› Muslim schools on the other hand is pretty similar to Chinese and Indian schools, except some part of the curriculum uses arabic language, and also jawi in writings. There’s also additional religion based subjects in the curriculum thus the reason why only Muslim join the school. Their school uniform is a bit different as well with longer hijab and the wrist part have buttons on it.

But its okey,I'll give comments anyway..hehe..
Like you said, its true that Malay student does have only one school outfit, but it comes with various colour..and of course each colour does have meaning.
1)white outfit - normal students/dont join any club or profit in school
2)blue outfit - for school prefect/school president student
3)green outfit - for librarian student
    4)purple outfit - counseling prefect/ peer supervisor
5)yellow outfit - for money advisor/salesman that help school sell school needs
Those outfit colour are showing each responsibility or each power that has been trusted to the choosen students.and the most powerful sutdents are school prefect (students who wears blue outfit)..its kind like an officer/police in community..their job is being a discipline advisor to all students in school..

In malaysia, differences of uniform can be classified into few aspects.
    1. Elementary vs Secondary. For elementary pupils, they wear dark blue trouser/skirts/pinafore, secondary male students wear green trouser & female wear light blue long skirt/pinafore (nonmuslim). But these color code of uniforms only applied for standard national school. For other types of schools that not a standard national schools, they might wear different types of colour code of uniform.
    2. Students’ role organisation.
Every standard national school in Malaysia must have these kind of student role organisations; librarians, prefects, ‘peer guiders’, class-monitors & a president. They have their own uniforms to differentiate with other students. They wear other colour of skirts/trousers according to their role uniformly. Sometimes they put additional accessories just like tie, coat & vest.
P/s: usually, head of prefect automatically choose as president (head of student) because there’s a thought which prefect is supreme role than others 🤣.
    3. Co-curricular uniforms.
There’re ‘uniform club’ such as scout, types of cadet and others. By joining these uniform clubs, they can develop patriotism values, teamwork, survivor skills & other specific skills.
Besides, there’s also religious class. As a subject taught in standard national school session & private religious school after standard national school session end (usually at evening after lunch hour). Muslim & nonmuslim will be separated when it comes to religious subject in a standard national school session. Muslim will be in Islamic Education class, while nonmuslim will be in Moral class. Private religious school in evening is a choice either parents want their kids registered or not.
Question for Blimey : There’re positions like chairman, vice of chairman, secretary & vice, financial treasurer & vice and heads of batch among librarian (or any organisations) in school in korea?

during my school days we have different kind of prefects
    - student prefect (keeps other students to obey school's rules)
    - librarian (of course they are in charge of the library)
    - cooperation prefect (takes care of school cooperation/co-op - like a business management, usually in charge of a shop created by the school that sells school's badges, uniform, stationery, snacks, etc.)
    - counselling prefect - they in charge of supporting other students. they will try to detect students who really need counselling or support and report it to the counselling teacher
    - IT prefect - in charge of IT/computer room
    - canteen prefect - make sure other students keep the canteen clean
these are all that i can remember. the school will try to at least educate the students in terms of responsibility by encouraging them to be prefects. students also able to learn basic skills related to the type of the prefect the choose to be such as managing business, maintaing computers, communication skills, etc.
oh i miss the old school days. 😭💖

I don't know other school in Malaysia same like my school but my school usually have an early morning routine, read books for 5 minutes for non-muslims student while muslim student usually reciting Al-Mathurat ( sort like prayers). Another thing is in Malaysia some school would have two session of school morning and evening. Usually morning is for upper grades ( 15 y/o to 17 y/o ) while evening for juniors ( 13 y/o - 14 y/o ). In terms of uniforms, for my school we wear a one piece-type hijab with awnings ( not sure what it called in English, I usually called it tudung sarung). What you can see distinctive is the color of skirts and trousers/pants. For elementary, we wore blue black color for both boys and girls. While for secondary schools, the girls wear blue long skirts while boys wear army greenish trousers/pants. We also have another society called Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya ( sort of like a peers things, counselor things ) too. For position in school we have president, prefects, librarian, yearbook editorial team, Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya and prefects in charge for text books ( text books keeper ). President & Prefects consider as a student council while for each class we sort of like have Head Boy and Head Girl. It may be varied every school in Malaysia. What more interesting for Malaysia school system we have many different type of school. We have a school that mix race ( Sekolah Kebangsaan ), a school with one race ( Sekolah Kebangsaan Jenis ( Cina ) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Jenis ( Tamil ) , Boarding school. For boarding school we have many types of boarding school 😂, Art school, Sports School ( which produces Malaysia's athletes ), international school.
I think you need to make a part 2 for culture differences on school 😂 Malaysia's schooling system and types are really unique to discuss though!

In Malaysia, student council doesn't really exist until university level. Some schools have it but in most schools, the schools are mostly run by the disciplinarians and clubs. Disciplinarians are prefects (highest in power), traffic wardens, break monitors(like prefects but less power) and class monitors. During normal school hours they are center of power. Outside school is run by the Big 3: Red crescent/St John, Scouts/Guides or Cadets/Boys Brigade. These are also really powerful and for example in my school, the headmaster requests for manpower during school sports day. The student leaders have to coordinate everything themselves, ensuring enough manpower is met and have to decide ourselves what activities to carry out

In Malaysia, the prefects have their own different uniforms from normal students. It's not for showing of but for the new students to recognise the prefects so that the prefects can help them adjusting at their new school. Also, each prefects have different jobs and each one of those prefects have different uniforms or colors. At my school, for the School Prefects (the main one) they wear white kemeja long sleeve, light cream color tie, and black vest and skirt. Our School Lybrarians or PSS (the one that guards the Lybrary) wears white kemeja long sleeve, grey colour tie, and grey vest and skirt. Our SPBT (the prefects that check the arrival dates for text books, disposal of text books, giving out text books and etc.) wears white kemeja long sleeve, dark cream tie, and brown skirt. PK (the one that guards the book shop, like cashiers and stuff) wears white kemeja long sleeve, pinkish maroon tie and skirt. This is the exact desciption of what our uniforms are like. Though there are some schools different than us. My school is an all-girls school

    Students in Malaysia :
    1. Same uniform but different 'style'. Different size, necktie, shoelace, socks etc.
    2. I don't know much about lunchbox but usually students go to canteen.
    3. Most school still not allowed their student to bring their cellphone.
    4. Boys usually not allowed to have long hair.
    5. There are many 'Girl Groups' and 'Gang' within the school.
    6. The back of the class is a playground.
    7. Some, eating snacks in learning session like watching cinema.
    8. Remember every student name of your batch is quite normal.
    9. The whiter your shoes, more 'respected' you are.
    10. Sometimes wrinkles on your uniform is a no-no.
    11. Most student hated this 'perhimpunan' time.
    12. Also some issues with the security guards.
    13. Coming late to class is normal. Being early is not.
    14. Students decorates their classroom.

    16. Easiest way to get popular is just be stupid.
    17. Rainy day is jaljayo good night.

FYI, Malaysian Student have like 4 kind of position under the teachers and headmaster. We call it as Pengawas (Prefect) , PRS (Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya), PSS (Pengawas Pusat Sumber Sekolah) and Pengawas Koperasi. About Pengawas, they always do a job like take care of students, helping teacher etc. About PRS, we usually do a job like Emcee, counseling and etc. About PSS, it always about book and Pengawas Koperasi, they like a bunch of student that selling a school utensil, books, water and etc. We wear a different type of kain. In our middle school, pengawas wears a blue vest and blue kain( for girl) or blue pants ( for boys), PRS wears a purple vest and purple kain ( for girls), PSS wears maroon vest and maroon kain and koperasi wears a dark green vest and dark green kain

What I find the most fascinating about school in Malaysia is that parents are free to register their kids in different type of school according to their preferences. We have school for malay, chinese, indian, and international school here. So that's how students in Malaysia always end up growing with at least two or more languages to speak.

  • @mexlymeyloveU
    @mexlymeyloveU 5 ปีที่แล้ว

1.We have a vernacular system in our education. Since malaysia have 3 major races, we can choose to enroll in a school that teach us mainly using our mother language.
For example Chinese can attend the primary school that use mandarin as the medium for education, SJK(C). Same as the Indian they can go to SJK(T), as for Malay and bumiputera, they can attend the regular school, which mainly use Bahasa as their language. But all races are welcome to enroll in any of this school. and of course for all school English is the second language for teaching and learning. For the SJK school they have an extra paper for the primary school exam.
    2. It's because of our education system, not every school will provide the same textbook, in term of language. This is for all the science subject and for mathematics only. Some of the school choose Bahasa, and others use English. That's why our exam paper is in bilingual form. Student can choose weather to answer in English or in Bahasa. But not to mix the language 😂. And also our novel text is different for every region. Though, The literature text will still be the same.
    3. Some school in Sabah/Sarawak, have a laguage subject for the native speakers of Kadazan and Iban language. This is mainly for the student from those ethnicity, but all student can take the subject too, if they want.
    4. For the uniform, we kind of have the same school uniform, but it depends on that school if they want to assign different colors for the skirt, shoes..etc. for their student. But Our PE attire is different from the other school, it's designed by the school 😂. As in my school we can choose weather to wear the official PE attire of our school or our class shirt, during PE. But of course, the school have to approve the design of the class shirt too.
    5. Aside from the prefect, we also have the peers facilitator/peer counselor. The pembimbing rakan sebaya (PRS). They basically under the school counselor. And if there's a counseling, or any motivational program, they will be involved to assist and managing the program along with the counselor.
    6. We don't have a middle school here, it is only primary and secondary school. But if you want to enter a specialize secondary school, the Science secondary school or the Sports school for example, you can enter it during form4(age 16), if you missed to enter during the first year of secondary school😂
    7. For the co-curricular competitions, the science, sports, vocational, islamic and art school have their own competition. For example, science school from all over malaysia will compete among them. Same for the other school. But they will still compete in the national co-curricular competition. So yeah, they have to compete more than twice usually.
    8. When I am still a student, Handphone is a prohibited item in school. But we still bring them secretly.😂, and if you got caught your phone will be confiscated, if you want to retrieve them, you should bring your guardian. Sign a sort of agreement😅(aku janji) which basically a form to declare that you will not repeat your mistake again. Some of the strict school could give you a warning letter. If you got 3 of this letter, you will receive a disciplinary action.
9.And most of The school finished early during ramadhan 👏🏻👏🏻.
And of course this will only applied to the public school. The private schools is different
I wonder if korea have a house for the school staff/teacher. As for my school the staff house is really close. It is basically 3minutes walk from the class. So during recess some of the students who's parents are the staff of the school sometimes just secretly went home to eat. 😂😂

I really want to know about Korean Major Examination. In Malaysia, we have 3 major examination which is Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), PT3/PMR/SRP and the last one is Sijil Penilaian Malaysia (SPM). For UPSR and PT3, if you get a good result, you can apply for the boarding school. For SPM, you can choose either you want to continue to further your study or you can work after that. I still remember, if your family have someone who take major exam that year and get a good results, you will get many presents. My mum said if i get an A for one subject, she will give me RM50. This kind of things does encourage me to study really hard. During this time, many makcik2 bawang wants to know about the results. Kinda miss this kind of things. Oh ya! Goodluck to SPM candidates. Their result will be announce next week. Wish best of luck to them. Love from Malaysia

Here in Malaysia we also have MRSM (one type of high school 😂). There, the student representative councils were elected through voting by students. Before voting day, the candidates will promote themselves through campaign for a few days. The campaign including distributing posters, speech, and many more! The process exactly like how the leader was chosen in a democratic country! The president normally will choose by teacher among those that won in voting.

majority of schools in malaysia has 3 types of prefect, the first one is school prefect. Being one of the few chosen ones, being a pengawas sekolah or school prefect can be quite an honour. After all, not everyone can say that they were handpicked to represent the student authority. Whether you were selected because of your academic excellence or for displaying a knack for leadership, being a school prefect means you are expected to be the model every student should want to emulate, apart from enforcing rules on behalf of the teachers.
the second one is library prefect. the duties of library prefect are Handling the procedures of borrowing & returning materials, Putting materials back to shelves, Checking shelves, Head counting and more! the last one is peers ( pembimbing rakan sebaya ). The duties of peers are help mobilize counseling and counseling services at school, as a link to counseling and counseling services such as making referrals as necessary and more! they actually work under the school's counselor.

Rather than societies, the students where clothes according to whether they have responsibilities as prefects or not. There are often multiple different prefect bodies, main is school prefects, who are responsible for discipline of other students and helping teachers. Library prefects who have special duties with the library and other events that are included. My school even has textbook prefects and school coop prefects that have their own job. Each prefect body has their own uniform to distinguish them from the other students. School prefects have the most power, but as the head prefect I still just wear a uniform like other school prefects

There are also differences between regular school and boarding school. I attended Islamic boarding school throughout five years of secondary education (13-17 y/o), and went through different curriculum from regular school.
I remembered that we even had an election to vote for school president, literally the students' leader, and the school board cannot interfere with final result.

In Malaysia, it depends on the school. Some schools have different electing methods and different student councils. In my school (Kuen Cheng High School), we have prefects which are otherwise known as 学长 or pengetua. These students are elected by auditioning in front of specific teachers and special prefects. I myself am not a prefect so I'm not exactly sure how it works but yeah, they have auditions here. As for the others, librarians have special badges and ties. In my school, prefects and librarians have to wear skirts and not dresses unlike regular students so. As for the boys, it's practically the same. My schools uniforms are a little different from most schools in Malaysia. Other schools boys uniform pants are long and dark in colour but my school has it white. We do actually have other roles as student council like class president, I. T, treasurer and more. As for broadcasting group, they have that too. In fact, we have many clubs to join here. I personally am a part of the English Debate Club. For Muslims, most schools have them in a separate class and they do take the same courses mostly but some classes are different for them. I could literally go on and on about this. If you ever do come to Malaysia, you should visit a few schools if you want to know more about the school culture.

so about the uniforms..i’m gonna talk about secondary school ones today ☺️
my school, has many different types of uniform. the first type are the normal ones. for chinese/indian students, they wear a light blue pinafore with a white blouse inside. for the malays, they wear baju kurung. the colour them is the same tho.
the second type, the prefects. the prefects have two different uniforms. the first one is specially for “perhimpunan rasmi”. as in the assembly at the start of the week. they wear blazers with a white blouse paired with a dark blue skirt. they also wear a tie which is dark blue as well. the second one is for regular days, where they wear only a white blouse and a dark blue skirt. the tie changes, according to the rank of the prefect. they can either wear that or a regular pinafore with the tie.
the librarians, wear a maroon coloured pinafore, again with the white blouse. they wear a tie which is also a maroon colour. the tie, like the prefects, changes according to the rank as well.
prefects and librarians will have a ribbon tied to their hair. once again, colour depends on the rank. both roles work the same, the darker the ribbon, the higher the rank. the prefects start from a light blue to a navy blue, while librarians start from a pastel pink.

In some high schools( like mine ) , only the prefects wear a different school uniform, while other bigger societies wear a custom-made badge of the society above their sewed on name tag. The head student is usually chosen from the body of prefects, in which the prefects will have a meeting to vote on who is eligible to be the president for the next term. Usually the candidates are up to 5 people. once chosen, a campaign for each candidate will be held for a week as normal students will have to make vote at the end of the week. the one with the most votes gets head student, followed by vice 1 and 2, the secretary and the treasurer. Also! the after school thing is not only for muslims, although there are more islamic afternoon schools. Other religions also have after school class? but its usually held at the gurdwara or church on sundays. In school, the non-muslim students have a general subject called pendidikan moral where they learn moral values and such.
