F-14 Tomcat touch and go Batavia,NY 1995

Pilot`s parents see son for first time flying the F14 Tomcat and really puts on a show by doing a touch and go at a small airport unexpectedly.

I love that after the landing the announcer starts talking and talking and then the F-14 pilots puts it on full afterburner and does what was probably a mach 0.9 pass at low altitude
Those Tomcat pilots were legendary!!

I was at this airshow, the F-14 touch and go was not planned, if only you can imagine the gasps from everybody that witnessed it, it was an aviation enthusiasts dream come true to be there and see this, I cannot remember but I do recall that the pilots family were at the show and he may have been local, coolest day ever!

I'm just confused why everyone was so surprised at the touch and go when earlier in the day at this air show a much heavier C-130 took off from the same airport.

Can anyone tell me why we can do demos with phantoms and Sabres but they can’t get it together to keep one, Just one tomcat for air shows?

IKR! I think the fear is because Iran still "flies" them and they might steal them. 😂 F16's are on the chopping block next. Our local Air National Guard switched to F15's a few years back. They also has a few F22's.

If they never sold these birds to Iran we would still no doubt see them flying at airshows around the world. Such a foolish thing to do, giving these planes to Iran.

@@jiceBERG I am not sure where the pilot was from. I think the airshow announcer mentions his name. I was so lucky to have been there to capture this on video. Glad to share it after all these years.
