Fisher sensei, if you see this comment, can you comment on which of these are valid men strike opportunities and which are almost strictly tsuki openings? What would have been different if men is attempted instead? Will it cut short as men have shorter range?
I often explain tsuki as a situation where the opponent becomes overly protective of the centre line to by themselves time because their tactic or rhythm has been disrupted. I really like your loading screen description though. I'm not great at the waza yet but I'm getting the hang of picking up when their feet are either "stuck in the mud" or they're backing up without a plan. I land them occasionally but I still need to work on committing fully because when I don't it's always due to a failure to bring my body into it enough. Of course I do miss them sometimes as well 😂 not that I get to do tsuki that often mind.. Love watching them though.

Best part of tsuki: when it's on target and you shove your opponent back, there's little question you scored.
