Thank you. This is an absurd amount of work just to control the opacity of an object! Unreal should include it as part of their transforms, like After Effects.
Thank you for explaining the hotkeys for constants and multiply nodes. So many tutorials regarding materials just speed through all of that without exaplining how they do it
If you import the png and make a new material from it, then yes this method should work, without the need of a second multiply node. However if you want to make your png transparent (aka no background), I’ll be uploading a video about this in shortly
Yeah man it’s way too complicated for something so simple.. i found another solution that is slightly less work but doesn’t offer the same flexibility, so I never made a video about it. If there’s demand for it, i’ll release the video :)
I had the same issue. Luckily for me it was a simple cloth material so I used the main texture to create a material. Hoping you find the answer because I'll probably need to know in the future.

I completely agree! It’s such a simple feature that will save everyone a lot of time :(
Excellent work: clear, helpful, to the point ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Glad that you benefited from the video! :)
Something this simple shouldn't be this complicated. In order to implement this, I need to create hundreds of new materials in my project.
I may have found another solution for this. I’ll upload a new video on this in the near future :)
Sounds great @@ShuHayli
I've had this issue with software for a long time. It's usually very simple to do something complex but very difficult/tedious to do something simple.

You’re welcome! I really struggled with those tutorials as well and then decided that I don’t want my videos to be like that :)
Amazing tutorial straight to the point
Thank you! Glad I could help :)
All i needed, thanks mate !
Perfect, juste what I need ! Thanks you
Wow perfect thank you. Very useful.
Glad it helped you out :)
Though the shadow stays
It does not work when I press play as a third person character, how can I make it work?
Thank You. This is really nice but in many cases not practicable if the Opacity doesn´t work on the Shadow too! Maby there´s a workaround for.
Use harware raytracing to affect the shadow from project settings.
@@shakirahmed3598 thanx...yes wanted to use with raytracing :) - didn´t tried yet. but that sounds very good!
Very informative 👍👍
Thank you! :)
I need the opacity channel for to plug in my png. Could I use multiply to plug them both in?

@@ShuHayli Hi mate. That tutorial is exactly what I would need right now. :D
@@vilsujami I got you! I’ll upload the video by the end of the week and tag you again. Stay tuned! 😊
@@ShuHayli I'm assuming this video is never coming out?
@@Chrono_Vista so sorry for the delay! The video will be up by tomorrow night the latest. Thank you for checking in :)
v cool - thank you
why is this so complicated, this is one of the things that makes me wish i was working in blender instead...

What to do about the shadow?
hey found any solution for it
Hi, what if the object has 3 material elements?
Good question @jadtarekhaddad, i’ll get the answer for you and reply to you here or upload a new video explaining it. Stay tuned :)

i just did with my 3 material character, just copy those 4 node into other metarial and just key opacity, it will work same time on 3 material
