- We're traveling to the Silius Solar System for the 3rd song from the self-titled GaMetal album: the Title Theme and Stage 1 theme from Journey to Silius!
If you're a VGM fan that came up in the NES era, you surely know the glory of Sunsoft game music. JtS is one of those games, and it has personally one of my favorite NES soundtracks. I'm talking at least top 5 here.
I first did the Stage 1/5 theme back in the very first NES Medley from 2009. I've been wanting to redo it for years and years, but never did get around to it. Enter the GAMETAL album! Along with Stage 1/5, I've also thrown in the equally awesome title theme.

Always wondered why despite the amazing music my friend and I were the only ones that knew of this gem, seeing it on the nintendo switch I played it for hours, nice to see it getting recognition ^.^

The best part of title theme covers is the riveting gameplay
"Prologue" from Journey to Silius also appears on the GaMetal album as the intro track. This played during the opening cinematic of the Project One Reveal Trailer.

Tbh I feel like the Fire Emblem series has some real gems in its soundtrack. Hopefully with 3H being as successful as it has been, more people will discover the awesome tunes of the series. Speaking of which, I’m still going to request FE6’s “In the Name of Bern” for after the project is completed.

Silius is the only NES game I've straight-up downloaded the soundtrack for, on account of it being genuinely incredible. You've done my favorite NES OST serious justice, Jonny, you fucking _boss._

This game's soundtrack is a great counterexample to the point sometimes made that the NES can't do huge-sounding drums without an addon chip. Sunsoft knew how to get the absolute most out of the noise and triangle channels, man.
Gotta love 80's translations where they misspell Sirius.
Journey to Sirius just doesn't roll off the tongue as well as Journey to Silius....

It was due to Johnny that I learned of this game. It was due to Sunsoft that I love it. Thank you so much Johnny for one of my favorite NES games. EVER.

This is still, to this day, one of the very best soundtracks ever composed for a game !

Yet, it doesn't care what you think, and blasts the most epic music that could ever be in an NES game.

Together we ride is so overrated. That's coming from a Fire Emblem fan.
Jayson it’s definitely one of the most used themes, and was basically the first FE track introduced into Smash Bros (though it was just titled “Fire Emblem” in Melee), but I agree that for a fan of the series who has heard it plenty of times, there are better themes to cover. The premium arrange made that clear.
See this is why we need another FE1/3 remake, because its actually good shit!

Rock on! This is my favorite Sunsoft game music! I have to admit they did some kickass music for their NES games, and Journey to Silius had some top notch songs!

This game had an absolutely killer soundtrack. I've been following you for years and had no idea you had a cover from it. This is so awesome!
I'm 32 and I have no idea how this game flew under my radar for so long. I think I MIGHT have seen it advertised WAY back in one of my uncles old gaming magazines. I just played it a few days ago for the first time on my brothers emulator station and this theme instantly got me hooked. The music absolutely slaps this was a good game.
@@Mikey-1990 my parents bought it at a flea market in the early 90s. Just one of those random games you buy and try. I was instantly hooked by the soundtrack. This game could've been much more widely known, as it started life as a terminator game. Sunsoft lost the license for it, so they patched together the game as it shipped without the movie references. You can still see some of the influence, though
@@Paladin1034 I had no idea this was originally slated to be a Terminator game, but yeah I can definitely see the influences now. See, I played the Batman game Sun Soft did and that soundtrack is amazing too.
@@Mikey-1990 from the comments on another video on YT featuring the whole soundtrack, apparently sunsoft used different methods of mixing and tracking that led to their unique sound. I'm no sound engineer but that's what I took away from it. Mix that with excellent composition and both batman and journey end up on many "best of" NES music lists.

One of my favorite games on the NES.
Apparently Journey to Silius was originally going to be a Terminator game, but Sunsoft lost the license so they altered the in-game graphics and story to make it something completely different.
I actually kind of like that, even if it is essentially taking a pre-existing idea and shaving off aspects of the source material to make it more "original"... then again, any idea nowadays is at least somewhat derivative of something else.

I don't know how I missed this one, but here you've covered one of my favorite videogame soundtracks ever. Can't wait for the album! If you ever find time to listen to the stage one theme from Raptor: Call of the Shadows, and feel an urge to cover it... I would not say no.

I hope when this series is finished, you consider covering some Kingdom Hearts music! It has some of the best OST’s in gaming but is criminally under represented in the realm of good covers.
