Jennifer always makes sure she has the most magnificent sound production. Even live, she is sonically beautiful. Her voice is not marred by distortion or lacking it's subtle inflection.
Wow -- amazing song, and amazing singer. All I knew of Warnes was her Blue Raincoat album, but I see she has done much more. She certainly knows how to bring a song to a crescendo. Cohen's songs were so deep, and she drags all of that depth right out of the song and puts it into her voice. Magnificent.
Queste si che sono canzoni, cantanti veri e fortissime emozioni, questa è LA MUSICA, NON GALLINE SENZA NIENTE DA DIRE MEZZE NUDE, CHE GRANDE STELLA DELLA MUSICA
A strange and mysterious coincidence; Antwerp, Belgium, the city of this performance, is where William Tyndale, little more than a hundred years after Joan of Arc was executed, was also arrested and later burned at the stake! In both cases, religious persecution factored into their deaths. Tyndale, of course, was the man who gave the west its first mass distributed publication of the Bible, in English.
A song by Leonard Cohen elevated to perfection by Ms. Warnes. Her phrasing. My god!
Only Leonard Cohen can elevate Joan of arc's story to poetry
Amazing performance by Jennifer Warnes. Has to be the MOST under-rated singer ever!!!

Wow what a magnificent voice
Utterly transfixing. My God, what a voice!
It's a voice without any pretense, isn't it? Magnificent!

She was in the '60s musical "Hair" and was featured on the late '60s Smothers Brothers Comedy Show named "Jennifer" . karl
She sang the female voice in the song, I had the Time of My Life.
Incroyable cette interprétation, Jennifer Warnes semble complètement habitée par cette chanson de Cohen, l'une de ses plus belles, et quelle voix !!!
Beautiful song
The most amazing woman beautiful voice
This song hits me in the guts like a Flannery O’ Connor story.

Leonard Cohen was a sweet and sensitive ( Jewish) man....that is our lot
...who wrote the most beautiful and moving tribute to a Catholic saint..... Sancta Iohanna Arcensis, Ora pro nobis!
Excellent . Very Joan Baez-ish
