Yoann Barelli (@yoannbarelli) has been an Enduro World Series top contender for the last few years. He is known for going wild on the bike and being a funny dude. Originally from France, he know lives in Pemberton and shows me around some of his favourite trails.

The trail has been rerouted where the wood fence was because inside the fence is a couple of petroglyphs that the First Nations had wrote hundreds of years ago, so they are trying to protect them.

Well at least it did not leave any mental marks. He is been riding since January I think. So basically 6/7 months off the bike.

I’ve to watch it at least four times: in hopes to learn smthg I watch what Yoann in the lead does and then watch Rémy’s front wheel, then once more to put it tghr w attention to the trail, and finally a viewing just for pure enjoyment. Aero brake lever reduces drag and holds his 3rd ball up
I find it helps to keep the heel of the palm behind the bar for added support on big compressions and when it gets steep they’re at the right angle. And of course, more aero🤜
Otherworldly watching two amazing riders go out and just have fun on bikes. Truly impressive and humbling riding to watch. I agree more crossovers please!

that fence you ran into was put up a few months ago because some indigenous rock art was found along the (now former) trail, up at the top of those rock rolls. the slabs are still accessible without disturbing the newly protected land, but you have to push up from after the new work-around if you want to ride them.

Pemberton is amazing, especially with the rain lately. I think it's might favourite place to ride now, along with Nelson BC... I live in Vancouver but I think those two places are more fun than the Shore or Squamish.
