There is a one big logical problem with it, it isn't eagle artillery anymore. The effects of throwing projectile above the screen then fall down makes artillery unique. I think they need to redesign the animations of those projectiles rather that the mechanism... Otherwise it just looks like lava launcher tweaked by devs not giving any efforts... 🤕

Man, the Eagle was always my favourite defense. It had such a menacing presense while also being a big threat. The sound of it opening it's cannon with the screech of an eagle is something everyone will miss.
The damage of giga bomb was never the strong point of the townhall but the poison bomb it left. I think without the poison bomb the giga bomb as a trap is not that threating
The damage was still a strong point of it. You never wanted your troops to take that 1.1k damage plus poison so that’s why warden abilities were often saved for that.
I feel like now an attack like blimp into balloons and clone spells will be just uncoubterable, since u can destroy the town hall instantly and have a million of clone ballons to spare since there is no poison after... in general, blimps will be absolutely a meta, since u can remove the major defense with no downside
What people don't realize is we cannot queen charge the townhall anymore ; ( (Townhall can attack the queen and healers simultaneously) This might make the game much more spammny unfortunately.
Being able to hide the gigabomb in any building would be such a cool idea imo, you would have to guess predict, making funny, exciting and worrying moments :=)
I've noticed some interesting things about the sneak peek! •If you look closely at 10:18 and 10:40 you can notice new flags for heroes that act as thier old altars, however what's interesting is that when he showed the queen being available to th8 players at 16:49, the new building we're supposed to see in sneak peek 3 was also there, wich means that it's not for th 17 players only, it's probably a hero building where you can select up to 4 heroes for attack assuming we're about to get a new hero: "Minion Prince" it would make sense for them to make you only choose 4 heroes only because heroes are very powerful on attack. •Hero altars are now smaller in size than before and aren't even buildings because we see at 10:41 that the royal champion's altar was ignored and not attacked at all, in other words: Hero Altars Appear To Be Indestructible, it's either that or it's just that the heroic flag stays even after destroying the altar. •Whatever that "Hero House" building is, it can be upgraded, because the version we see at 6:31 is clearly an upgraded version of the one at 16:41 Thanks for the great content and for always keeping us updated Judo, you're the best (:
This also explains why Archer Queen is released 1 town hall early, this is so that building isn't useless and players could probably choose between barb king or archer queen at the start.
Sure, but it would be a bit boring if there was literally nothing to do. There is A LOT of cost and time reductions with this update too. Enjoy the video!
But the town hall itself is much weaker now, the older town halls struggled with the freeze spells, but at least they did a bit of damage, now the town hall can be easily destroyed. Not to mention it makes the battle blimp strategies so much stronger and easier.
Idk about the battle blimps, that one seems iffy especially since it's now always active so I can see the battle blimps being shot at and the lava pools finishing of super wizards and archer. Also it seems like it can be destroyed easily based of in the video, but I feel like it performs a lot better when fortified as it can rain hellfire on troops whilst they attack stuff like the monolith, xbows, inferno towers, scatter shots, etc.

@@fittedurge4763 I think people are going to freeze the TH on blimp approach and either yeti bomb or rage loons out of it. TH will likely never get a shot off and the troops will survive to help gut the center of the base. I don't love this TH change from a defensive standpoint. I guess we will see but I bet they end up changing the TH to go back to some sort of poison after it is destroyed.
I was TH11 max during last year Halloween Right now, I'm a new TH15 Even if you don't play regularly you would easily be a TH14 in year with the regular time and cost reduction So, it's more like about 1.5+ years to catch up to new Town hall at your current state And sorry for not mentioning, my progress was without GP (I bought GP for the first time this month)

Yup. You’ll be able to switch out what hero is where in your base since they’re going to have 5+ hero’s but only 4 on defense. I can’t wait for them to start emptying our pockets with a new hero every 6 months

I'm really enjoying the event, new scenery and troops recently introduced in COC! They have added a lot more excitement to game . I feel like balance between offense and defense has shifted too much towards offense , making attack feels easier and less stretegic . At the higher town hall levels , Defenses doesn't seem as effective anymore, player can triple the bases without any planning or skills , often by spamming overpower armies . This takes away the sense of challenges and strategy that made game so rewarding in the past . Even in wars , lower town hall player can sometimes triple higher town hall bases( I did in yesterday war I destroyed Town hall 12 max base with my town hall 11 account) , not just on th 11 and th12 , i'm able to triple TH16 max with my Town hall 15 account. There is literally no balance ⚖️ , and this is happening a lot , which feels unfair and unrealistic . War should feel intense and challenging, where players need to carefully plan and execute strategies to earn a three star victory. I'd love to see defense "buffed or new mechanism introducted to make attacking more skilled based again . War should feel like real battle , not just an easy win . Bringing back the challenge and balance would make the game even more enjoyable for competitive player and non competitive players too .... Now even eagle has gone snd they also nerfed Town hall , Big Disappointment from COC....
This. I would have combined it into the TH and had it begin firing as it usually would have from the second a troop was deployed. That would have been a good way to implement the merge. Saves the space, makes it stronger by firing thru the entire attack but not too strong because you no longer have the inferno capability on the TH. I would have left the giga bomb and poison a part of the TH though...or some version of it. As we increase levels the TH should become harder to take down not easier!
Ok, my opinion is it should be toggle-able, this would shake up the meta in a good way imo, with the ability to toggle can make certain bases to counter different attacks. In example, with the “mortar” mode turned on with plenty of splash and giant bombs can counter mass hogs or any mass troop attack. However with the eagle on could take out hybrid and hydra attacks. And the balance is that some attacks counter the town hall mode. This could work just like the new hero system switching the hero’s out
That’s some slow progress haha. Joking aside though they always reduce upgrade cost/times with new updates and if you’re active it’s faster than ever to get to the top level now. Especially try to take advantage of the rest of hammer jam. Good luck.
I got to th12 after cwl , in mid hammer jam like last week of it , i went to th13 (i hv upgraded nothing on th13 rn) for walls, currectly im semi maxed th12 with th13 walls maxed and rc to level 10 , can you tell me in how much time ill be at the highest th level ? Like at th18??@@JudoSloth

AQ at TH8 is HUGE not only will you be able to upgrade her earlier so she doesn't hit you with 35 levels but it will also make TH8 more memorable and fun
That’s what I hate about it, the whole reason that th9 is the most loved is because of AQ and new attack styles that you get with her, as well as the new troops, however it is nostalgic. Th9 is a dark theme which is perfect for archer queen and the troops and strategies you can get/do at that th. I feel they should have kept AQ at th9.
however you feel about the changes in the gameplay with this new TH, you gotta admit Supercell absolutely nailed this theme, coolest designs so far, almost all buildings got significant changes in how they look, not just the colors
Its just a middle age- early steam age - military fantasy mash up imo doesnt feel like im building towards a cool far away village, th16 is by far my favorite.

After th 11 when new th were released eagle artillery was still the only defence I was scared of.. scatter shots, monolith are all fine but eagle artillery was the most badass defence of all time. RIP Eagle Artillery 🫡
i hate how they dont give every building a new level, makes me hate the newer townhalls since the base has mismatched colors, th16 had purple and red and th17 has blue and red, i miss the days where the entire village would look like the townhall aesthetic
Remember in TH 16, there was the 2nd phase of upgrade where scatter, artilery and others finally got its new level, probably in TH 17 every building will get its new level soon
I didn't realise we were getting a replacement to the eagle artillery that's cool, hopefully its similar but unique, one things for sure though I will miss the eagle when I get to that town hall level 17 in a year or so cant believe this is finally happened

I don t know how to feel about the eagle getting merged. On one hand I like it, the attacks are gonna feel different but on the other side the base now has a lot fewer defences due to all these mergers than th15. i get that you get stronger defences out of them but you are effectivly lowering the coverage of the base with fewer defences. Also base builders used to put the eagle opposite the town hall so you have to prioritise one over the other and now that is lost, the town hall will now be more volnerable and with less and less defences i think the eternal tome becomes stronger and spam armies get stronger since the base is easier to overwhelm.
merging the eagle artillery with the town hall... its not worth it for me if it doesn't have infinite range and doesn't shoot artillery shells but its just my opinion you can upgrade and lose your eagle artillery if you want.
its such a big nerf bro, 1 blimp and whole townhall compartment can be taken without worrying about the bomb. But its activated from the start itself, so might be interesting how it goes!

Just got the update without even knowing TH 17 was out lol. This is definitely a wild update, I remember watching your video not too long ago about some of these concepts, cool to see them make it in this update. Also, absolutely wild that they added a hero revive spell lol that’s gonna be busted as hell, as if defending wasn’t already difficult enough lol. But rip Eagle Artillery though, it will be missed. 😔
Ngl, I wished supercell should have made the th/eagle have some sort of laser which affects a 2x2 or 3x3 area. Does not increase damage in time but fires a laser on his own area when it dies
Amazing and sensational game! I've been playing for over 10 years! I collect all the themed obstacles, but I wish there were more "Shovels of Obstacles" so I could organize my village. Maybe a bundle with 10 or 20 of them would be great!
I see quite a few people complaining in the comments, saying that we lose a lot of attack power with TH17. Sure, it’s not as strong as the Eagle Artillery (and the TH16), but I don’t think we lose that much attack power. Because we get : (1) The giga bom : The giga bomb from TH16 isn’t lost. It "comes out" of the Town Hall and becomes a trap (exactly the same damage, or even more when upgraded, just within the poison effect, which I find unfortunate). (2) The TH activation : The Town Hall activates more often since it doesn’t need to be triggered before attacking. On top of that, it gains 2 tiles of range (12 compared to 10 previously), which isn’t negligible either (for example (like Judo said), the Spirit Catapult can no longer hit it without taking hits in return). (3) The new projectiles : The Town Hall's projectiles hit harder than the "laser beam" of the Giga Inferno Tower, and on top of that, they deal splash damage to BOTH AIR and GROUND with each projectile (there are 4 missiles every 3-4 seconds, lasting for 6.8 seconds, meaning up to 8 "poison zones"; and these "poison zones" deal some damage (up to 75 damage per second per "zone," though it's not stackable, if I’m correct)). My comment really does rephrase what Judo said, but it's just here to gave a little opposition against all the negatives comment about the new fusion (of the town hall and eagle). I'm not saying you're wrong, I will also miss the eagle, but I dont think it will be that big of a loss of power. Let me know if I got anything wrong 👍
I feel like the loss of the poison from the town hall getting destroyed is the worst part sure the explosion was strong but the poison destroyed the massive swarms and slowed down troops a lot now that there’s no eagle and no poison the super archer blimp with warden ability will be so overpowered as you get the eagle the town hall and no worries about the poison
Without a giga bomb and poison I doubt you will see any serious bases with a TH17 near the outside of the base anyway. It makes it easier to hit the TH earlier in the attack and/or spam right thru it with something like a dragon or root rider army, and if you put it too far in a corner you lose some of its effectiveness. I don't think outranging the flame flinger is going to be that big of a deal honestly.
Wait what??? AQ now is unlocked at TH8?? THAT'S CRAZYYYY!!! I am a TH13 but I gotta say TH9 was my fav coz there were so many new things at that TH , but now they are shifting AQ at TH8 , so that would defiantly be a good thing as TH8 felt a little underwhelming as TH7 had the king , 9 had queen but 8 had nothing , also now then can start upgrading early so it's easier to max , great change!

Yup. You’ll be able to switch out what hero is where in your base since they’re going to have 5+ hero’s but only 4 on defense.

I'm really enjoying the event, new scenery and troops recently introduced in COC! They have added a lot more excitement to game . I feel like balance between offense and defense has shifted too much towards offense , making attack feels easier and less stretegic .
At the higher town hall levels , Defenses doesn't seem as effective anymore, player can triple the bases without any planning or skills , often by spamming overpower armies . This takes away the sense of challenges and strategy that made game so rewarding in the past .
Even in wars , lower town hall player can sometimes triple higher town hall bases( I did in yesterday war I destroyed Town hall 12 max base with my town hall 11 account) , not just on th 11 and th12 , i'm able to triple TH16 max with my Town hall 15 account. There is literally no balance ⚖️ , and this is happening a lot , which feels unfair and unrealistic . War should feel intense and challenging, where players need to carefully plan and execute strategies to earn a three star victory.
I'd love to see defense "buffed or new mechanism introducted to make attacking more skilled based again . War should feel like real battle , not just an easy win . Bringing back the challenge and balance would make the game even more enjoyable for competitive player and non competitive players too

This. I would have combined it into the TH and had it begin firing as it usually would have from the second a troop was deployed. That would have been a good way to implement the merge. Saves the space, makes it stronger by firing thru the entire attack but not too strong because you no longer have the inferno capability on the TH. I would have left the giga bomb and poison a part of the TH though...or some version of it. As we increase levels the TH should become harder to take down not easier!

Ok, my opinion is it should be toggle-able, this would shake up the meta in a good way imo, with the ability to toggle can make certain bases to counter different attacks. In example, with the “mortar” mode turned on with plenty of splash and giant bombs can counter mass hogs or any mass troop attack. However with the eagle on could take out hybrid and hydra attacks. And the balance is that some attacks counter the town hall mode. This could work just like the new hero system switching the hero’s out

I got to th12 after cwl , in mid hammer jam like last week of it , i went to th13 (i hv upgraded nothing on th13 rn) for walls, currectly im semi maxed th12 with th13 walls maxed and rc to level 10 , can you tell me in how much time ill be at the highest th level ? Like at th18??@@JudoSloth

AQ at TH8 is HUGE not only will you be able to upgrade her earlier so she doesn't hit you with 35 levels but it will also make TH8 more memorable and fun
That’s what I hate about it, the whole reason that th9 is the most loved is because of AQ and new attack styles that you get with her, as well as the new troops, however it is nostalgic. Th9 is a dark theme which is perfect for archer queen and the troops and strategies you can get/do at that th. I feel they should have kept AQ at th9.

After th 11 when new th were released eagle artillery was still the only defence I was scared of.. scatter shots, monolith are all fine but eagle artillery was the most badass defence of all time. RIP Eagle Artillery 🫡
i hate how they dont give every building a new level, makes me hate the newer townhalls since the base has mismatched colors, th16 had purple and red and th17 has blue and red, i miss the days where the entire village would look like the townhall aesthetic

Remember in TH 16, there was the 2nd phase of upgrade where scatter, artilery and others finally got its new level, probably in TH 17 every building will get its new level soon

I remember when the eagle artillery was added. My first/second grade self thought it was the coolest thing being able to shoot anywhere.
I don t know how to feel about the eagle getting merged. On one hand I like it, the attacks are gonna feel different but on the other side the base now has a lot fewer defences due to all these mergers than th15. i get that you get stronger defences out of them but you are effectivly lowering the coverage of the base with fewer defences. Also base builders used to put the eagle opposite the town hall so you have to prioritise one over the other and now that is lost, the town hall will now be more volnerable and with less and less defences i think the eternal tome becomes stronger and spam armies get stronger since the base is easier to overwhelm.

merging the eagle artillery with the town hall... its not worth it for me if it doesn't have infinite range and doesn't shoot artillery shells but its just my opinion you can upgrade and lose your eagle artillery if you want.
Not to mention you also can't progress the achievement involving it anymore.

Just got the update without even knowing TH 17 was out lol. This is definitely a wild update, I remember watching your video not too long ago about some of these concepts, cool to see them make it in this update. Also, absolutely wild that they added a hero revive spell lol that’s gonna be busted as hell, as if defending wasn’t already difficult enough lol. But rip Eagle Artillery though, it will be missed. 😔

Amazing and sensational game! I've been playing for over 10 years! I collect all the themed obstacles, but I wish there were more "Shovels of Obstacles" so I could organize my village. Maybe a bundle with 10 or 20 of them would be great!
I see quite a few people complaining in the comments, saying that we lose a lot of attack power with TH17.
Sure, it’s not as strong as the Eagle Artillery (and the TH16), but I don’t think we lose that much attack power. Because we get :
(1) The giga bom : The giga bomb from TH16 isn’t lost. It "comes out" of the Town Hall and becomes a trap (exactly the same damage, or even more when upgraded, just within the poison effect, which I find unfortunate).
(2) The TH activation : The Town Hall activates more often since it doesn’t need to be triggered before attacking. On top of that, it gains 2 tiles of range (12 compared to 10 previously), which isn’t negligible either (for example (like Judo said), the Spirit Catapult can no longer hit it without taking hits in return).
(3) The new projectiles : The Town Hall's projectiles hit harder than the "laser beam" of the Giga Inferno Tower, and on top of that, they deal splash damage to BOTH AIR and GROUND with each projectile (there are 4 missiles every 3-4 seconds, lasting for 6.8 seconds, meaning up to 8 "poison zones"; and these "poison zones" deal some damage (up to 75 damage per second per "zone," though it's not stackable, if I’m correct)).
My comment really does rephrase what Judo said, but it's just here to gave a little opposition against all the negatives comment about the new fusion (of the town hall and eagle). I'm not saying you're wrong, I will also miss the eagle, but I dont think it will be that big of a loss of power.

I feel like the loss of the poison from the town hall getting destroyed is the worst part sure the explosion was strong but the poison destroyed the massive swarms and slowed down troops a lot now that there’s no eagle and no poison the super archer blimp with warden ability will be so overpowered as you get the eagle the town hall and no worries about the poison

Without a giga bomb and poison I doubt you will see any serious bases with a TH17 near the outside of the base anyway. It makes it easier to hit the TH earlier in the attack and/or spam right thru it with something like a dragon or root rider army, and if you put it too far in a corner you lose some of its effectiveness. I don't think outranging the flame flinger is going to be that big of a deal honestly.

I am a TH13 but I gotta say TH9 was my fav coz there were so many new things at that TH , but now they are shifting AQ at TH8 , so that would defiantly be a good thing as TH8 felt a little underwhelming as TH7 had the king , 9 had queen but 8 had nothing , also now then can start upgrading early so it's easier to max , great change!
