The tattoo thing reminds me of the apocryphal story about a Western diplomat's wife in pre~World War Two China. She had a heavy brass pendant on a chain that she had picked up in an antique shop in the city, which she would wear at receptions, parties, "do's", and so on. It wasn't too clear exactly what the pendant - almost more like a plaque on a chain, even - said. I can't entirely remember the reason why, it being so long now since I read about this; I think it may have been that the diplomatic couple spoke only Mandarin and the inscription on the pendant was in Cantonese (or vice versa), or what, I seem to remember it was something of that nature, anyway. In any case she was very fond of it, making a point, one might even say, a _show_ of wearing it at fancy occasions. Western guests would naturally admire and enthuse about it, but she made a particular point of drawing the attention of Chinese dignitaries to it, and, gratifyingly, there was no mistaking their fascination with the medallion, even if they struggled to cast light on what the actual text said, explaining that it was in an archaic and stilted dialogue, or that the font was analagous to Gothic - Blackletter in the West, something of that nature, but they all agreed that, as she had been told by the dealer, it was clearly some sort of blessing or good luck charm. In fact, for all that it apparently bestowed good fortune on the wearer, had obviously been fabricated by a metalworker of considerable skill and was a conversation starter possessed of much aesthetic merit and intriguing historical provenance, this 1930's expatriate lady was most particularly attached to her adornment because it appealed to her sense of vanity. The seller had explained to her that a piece like this would have been worn by a high born woman of nobility, honour and breeding. A lady much like _herself,_ perhaps... As you will probably have anticipated, the mystery of the decoration's true and _exact_ meaning would finally be elucidated by a young domestic servant girl, a new hire, who seemed to be unaccountably amused by the Grand Dame's pride and joy. Her gew~gaw had been proclaiming all this time to the world that its wearer was "Licensed Shanghai Prostitute, №392"! For what it's worth, while I can't remember where I read this story - it was sometime back in the '90's - and while I may have altered some of the minor details, where memory has failed me, I haven't embellished anything; one thing I _do_ remember was that though I call it 'aporyphal', the story was presented as having _actually happened..._ Readers here can of course make up their own minds, but it does seem to strike one as being just a little _too_ good to be 'true', having rather the flavour of an urban myth! There is a similarity in this account which immediately leaps to mind to the stories one hears about regarding gap year types bearing 'pig~Chinese' tattoos meant to denote their wearers' "windswept & interesting" personalities, many of them _provably_ true, which, depending on where they were done, will, instead of reading, "Love & Honour" or "Ascending Dragon" or some such, say things like "Procreation with Acclaim", or "Drunken Clown", or just "Premier Graphics, Shenzhou District 6"! (That is, of course, the point of the joke! 🫣) I actually saw a photograph of a tattoo (not, in this case, Chinese lettering) which was very reminiscent of that last example. I can't honestly remember what the tattoo depicted, (I think it was actually a dragon - well, what else?!) but the quality of the art made it clear that the practitioner wielding the mail~order tattoo 'gun' had probably inflicted this grodey looking piece of work when he was in Dodge between cattle drives... What slayed me, though, was that (and this is actually proudly attested to by the client in his Pinterest post, or whatever) the tattooist had included the name of the original artist whose work he had cribbed/cursed -- their name? _Shutterstock!_

No longer investment- closer to occupation.
everywhere😂
Crazy real estate business--A sigh from a Chinese
The look on their faces when the noodles get taken away 😂
In China, where chopsticks are rife,
NordVPN keeps browsing life.
For Christmas, don't slog,
Check Foil Arms and Hog
Ohh lovely
You're one line short of a limerick.
And no I don't mean the poem.
Nord VPN doesn't even work in China
The ' that could have worked' from Foil at the end with the chopsticks, i think it actually could 😄
Yellow Derek & Influencer Dad attempting to enter China 😂
haha
Foil‘s deep sigh and eye roll at the beginning was much stronger this time.😂
Years ago I was in a short that was centered on a Chinese man's dinner experience with his friends and family. The cast was Chinese, Korean and Japanese (I played one of two European friends) and everyone laughed how I was using chopsticks. I now ask for a fork. 😂
I have to get my Chinese family to fish things out of the hotpot for me 😆 Definitely need to practice 😋
Don't let the bastards grind you down Tam Tam
Find something you like and practise. I love using chopsticks for snacks - keeps your hands clean.
@Kepler-17c I have fibromyalgia so using chopsticks the normal way really hurts, but it is definitely a way to use them. I cut my fruit up so I can eat it with a cake fork for the same reason.
@@tamara3984 Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you find a treatment that works for you.
"How many steps are the to the planning process in China?"
"One - build"
As a European engineer, that hits me too hard.
Love your interviewers little giggle about the tatoo joke :D and Hog's doing a Chaplin again with the noodles !
He is very charlie chaplin isn't he
@@foilarmsandhog did you (he) try knitting them, too? I meant to do that ever since
@apocatastasis, and now, you just reminded me of the glass artist who creates knitted fabrics in glass, Carol Milne.
@@fredericapanon207 I'm a ceramicist, if that exists, and it's interesting how she does that inside out from the one clip I just watched, glass inside the clay
I'm Chinese and to be honest I wasn't actually offended, you made me laugh out loud. 😂Obviously there are some stereotypes but you managed to strike a balance, it was really funny🤣🤣
that's impressive actually can see everything from space but can't see anyone on the ground due to smog
damn, Immigration sketches are my favourite series, but this one was the best, i laughed even harder than when watching one about my home country.
Remember you can't ever go back now 😮
The quality of the scripts and just how funny they are is more than most comedy shows on TV. Bravo
When they look at each other after "simple questions"😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂Very funny! One of my favorites so far We need this practical test in every getting past immigration skit😂.
aigotvisa AI fixes this. "Getting Past Chinese Immigration"
How about the McCormack family trying to take a family photo during the holidays? Mary running out to get the chicken out the oven. Paddy answering the door to someone collecting money. Anne bouncing around from a sugar overdose. Jason/Thomas/whatever drunk and Darren in the middle trying to set up the camera. 5 seconds is not enough.
Yes. Bring back the McCormacks! It's tradition!
Many options (insert exclamation mark which I no longer can) - - - My mind is too tired to think about it - I just instantly had this image of the tree exploding, then freeze frame, the finished photo with a brightly blazing (fir) fire behind them
I was prepared for the immigration officer telling them everything about themselves without asking any question, but your sketch is much funnier.
The tattoo joke 😅
I practice my reading skills at the beach 😅
More abundant than textbooks and subtitles!
You know what?! I remember that your guys’ videos were first shown in BiliBili, many Chinese fans strongly suggested that your guys make an immigration video of China! Today I finally watch the Video 🎉❤
Hilarious! “because of the smog” 😂
Finally the long overdue Chinese episode
Yeh... that's EXACTLY how I eat with chopsticks 😂
I'm not the worst, but I'm very slow
The chop stick bit is hilarious!🍜😂
It's the 23rd appearance of the red chequered shirt and congratulations Foil! You overtook Hog and are now the one who wore it most.🎉
Foil: 11
Arms: 2
Hog: 10
Wow, I'm impressed you keep track of this bit of FAH trivia.
@@mickeysanders74 Thanks. 😊 I actually keep track of a few shirts, but this one is currently in the lead. Too much time. 😅
Is it the most bang for buck costume item?
not sure how many yellow tops Hog has, or if it's the same two?
@foilarmsandhog Just looking at your shirts, it is right now. There are other things like that denim jacket and so that I have still to look into, but I'll keep you updated. 😁
Oh no your social credits is falling😂😂😂😂
Sketch idea: Oisín's birthday
Barry's birthday. But Anne doesn't know til he's round that day and panically throws something together for him.
Plot twist Barry and Oisin share the same birthday 😂
@@kedaver263 What are the chances of two friends sharing the same birthday? Oh, wait... ok, this could work!
@@kedaver263Good! 😄
Thanks mate, keep em coming
"that could've worked!!!!" me with chopsticks lololol
I love ALL Foil Arms and Hog videos!!!! ❤
Thanks so much!
Wow, the budget for Arm in this sketch must be hefty, he even nailed the Chinese accent!
YT is reading my mind again, because what I loued about the boys´ noodle test made me think of Expressions College: it takes thought, rather than ignorance, to attempt what Foil starts with the chopsticks aligned like cues, instantly reminded me of my fauourite misplaced hands-on-face ♥
The smog joke had me wheezing
I keep expecting to see Anne. Maybe Hog really was wearing the Anne mole that day to put him in the right frame of mind for working. 🤔
I have been waiting for this. Did not disappoint. You definitely cracked the Hong Kong accent very well.
Don't know the specifics of why your special guest wanted to remain anonymous, but I hope he's in the comments to see how much he was appreciated!
They didn’t have the nerve to do the accent themselves hahahha
Didn't see that planning joke coming (and I should have). Cries in 'still waiting for my local swimming pool to re-open. Come on its been 6 years'. 😂
There's a rail project in Ireland that when first proposed would have given free travel to people because they were under 5, and now if it's built on time, those same people will qualify for free travel because they are over 65...
Consider that, if the Chinese built it, it would probably have lasted 6 years. 😁
In Hilo, Hawaii there is a bridge over a creek that took longer than it took to build the Golden Gate Bridge. But that's Hawaii time. Different.
As a Chinese I think this is pure gold. But they were denied entry as they can't use chopsticks.
So you guys are going all over the place! Don't burn yourselves out guys! Best of luck on your tour.
This was brilliant. Well done!
hey. Just wanted to thank you guys for making me smile on a day when we've just heard my partner's aunt has passed away. Appreciate the Thursday normality.

@@mickeysanders74 Thanks so much, Mickey.
AH really sorry to hear that Steffi
that TBC was hilarious
Funny sketch lads 😂
Can't wait for the show on Sunday!
Be great to see you again bud
Have fun Luke!!
You should make the first thing you say to them "funny show lads"
... If you haven't already....
.... And if you like that idea 😂
The Chinese immigration test consists of seven trivial math exercises, any of which would earn you a million dollars over here
That Sydney joke hits too hard......
Aren't they great 😂
you really have me with TBC😂
You made my day guys!! ❤
Thanks!
"Who's having a party?"
- "The Communists" 🤣
This sounded very like the "EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!" guy. 😂So i guess it was very good! 👏👍🔥💯😂❤
*He* is very good...
The interviewer must be Timmy 😂
Not surprising as Steven He is Irish.
At first sight I thought the interviewer took back just Hog's bowl.....to end the misery.....😀
Having lived almost a decade, this is correct 😂
Laugh out loud multiple times. Great sketch!
YOURE SO AMAZING AND MAKE ME SO HAPPY EVERY WEEK AGAIN!!! 😭😭 sorry someone brought me to the conclusion yesterday that I should write more fangirly comments again. And I am never gonna stop.
Ah that's very kind, they are always graciously appreciated here
Totally on point. 真的好!
I want to see these two at a quiz or gameshow. They have the facial expressions down. 😅
Like genuinely? Or a sketch one? 😂
@SamFAHntha Both. A sketch to win a trip to a country they want or maybe like a futuristic one. Win a travel to Mars.
I also would want to see the lads on a gameshow with quizes and challenges or on taskmaster. That would be fun.
Special round: Guess the right sketch to the fahnart reference. Foil:0 points 😂
@JeleFili_savage_Filipomena Taskmaster would be like a dream come true!!!!
@@SamFAHntha I keep worrying they'd haue to break up before coming on Taskmaster. Has a fan euer asked them which of them might be Iinterested??
The practical was the unexpected twist that really stole the show 😁
Uncle Roger is that you😅
Uncle Roger would test them on making egg fried rice and the right level of frustration in their "Haiya". 😂
the RESEARCH on that faux rhotic r. I’m assuming that represents hours of coaching by a Chinese-speaking friend with a great sense of humor
Ooh, who did you collab with here? Always a treat to see a new - oh well, not face, but you know. Especially to spice up an immigration sketch! Btw, did you finish the noodles? Did you keep the sauce for after the shoot?
I love how people think it’s Arms doing a Chinese accent 😆

Who else was expecting them to down the entire bowl of noodles after fiddling for 10seconds and a "correct!" 😂
This was an exact copy of my experience getting into China! I expect a royalty check in the future! :D

As a cheat tip.
Ignore the chop sticks and lift the bowl to your face.
Lean in to sip and use the chopsticks held together like a spoon to shovel food in mouth.
A bit uncouth but useful when starving and you need to get the food into belly quickly.
I do know how to use chopsticks (I'm Chinese), and with some kinds of food, that's essentially what I do.
Is that Steve He? 😂 and Korean immigration please!
As a Chinese I like watch such as this videos, like to watch you describe a China which exist in the others parallel Universe but not in the real world, dumb and funny😂

Very first FAH sketch I saw was "Scottish man on a quiz show". Don't know if the algorithm recognised I was Scottish and thought I'd like it or if it was just random, but ever since I've been a huge fan! The immigration and party sketches are always my favorites, but I do have a soft spot for Oisin (sp?) and his ma!

An Irish tour with Castlebar, but not Cork? Lads 😭
Maybe they’ve been banned
Cork in early 2025, but don't want to release it yet as it would definitely cause confusion
I got my tickets to your Perth gig - looking forward to it
