Thank you all for your support!
This is not a comparison to see which one is best, more like a tribute on how far we've come in the past 10 years.
Flight Simulator X Steam Edition vs X-Plane 11 Public Beta 2
Please let me know your thoughts on the video dropping a comment below.
The FSX landing was terrible, and I blame it entirely on the flight model of the default 737.

To be fair, FSX looks decent for being more than a decade old.
FSX was way ahead of its time!
Agree
X-CHECK, if FSX had the plane blow up it would be a great game
depends on the graphics card on the pc
also had 10 years to tweak it dont forget, X Plane 11 in this vid beta version, got my money. If i had oodles of money invested in add ons for FSX i would simply walk out to the shed with a rope and start swinging after this comparison.
8:18 RIP Guy driving that van.
"how far we've come in the past 10 years"
Perfect description of the video.

Wow 10 years difference and FSX still looks great and runs mostly on any machine
Ha, FSX has always run like crap on my machine, X-Plane gives me a nice smooth 60fps. P3D runs much better than FSX too. FSX is getting less and less supported, more and more people have issues running it smoothly these days. the DirectX 10 Fixer just isn't working anymore and the DirectX 9 mode gives slower performance and can cause some issues on newer cards.
Same here. Somehow I was never able to get a decent framerate out of FSX. Switched to X-Plane 11 about a week ago and can't imagine to ever go back to fsx. The only thing I'm missing is my PMDG 737
I just returned my copy of p3d. Going for this Beta for my new rig with a GTX 1060!
Looks great is a bit of an overstatement. I'm a long time FSX/P3D user and it's really starting to show it's age, both in how it present scenery (flat textures with baked houses, painted roads, textures that don't align) and in it's lighting system, which is just ancient at this point. P3D improves shadowing, but the other flaws still remain.
I mean, go to 5:58 and tell me that looks great.
P3D is more for improving performance on modern hardware, not so much graphics. It improves Shadows, Lighting and Post-FX stuff. None of the graphical engine has been changed other than minor changes.
we can agree that real life is the most realistic
I can agree on that
Tho real life is NOT a sim
@@alectw cant you take a joke?
felobatir moheb you obviously cant !👍🏼
Ok boomer
Thanks for making a review that doesn't compare the base xplane to a premium glorified fsx with $100+ addons... this is one of the fair reviews!
"base xplane to a premium glorified fsx with $100+ addons" wouldnt change much with the core performance or basic rendering performance that x-plane brings.
Xplane has 64 bit support, and the graphics can be turned up beyond what most computers can handle even with modern graphics cards being quite powerful compared to what I used 10 years ago. I run Dual 2gb Overclocked NVIDIAs. It was a shame when I discovered Xplane doesnt support 2 graphics cards running in parallel with SLI, but my other games never go below 100 FPS and just on a single card Im still running a beautiful environment at 40FPS at maximum resolution to 3 screens... also, xplane meant i could use my ipad for EFB and Moving map gps display, not to mention synthetic vision... it was a no-brainer for me which was better
Your video makes it clear which has the better visuals and performance.
MSFS goes back to the 80's when it looked like Red Baron arcade game. But through its upgrades it got better and for a long while it was the only "Sim" available. The flight dynamics were only a table based calculation and were quite often not even close. As with all newer products the flight model has evolved and more closely simulates the real flight dynamics. Microsoft has left the game behind and it is still in 32 bit, so it really will never be any better.
X plane 11 is also an 11 year journey to where is today. I started with 10.45 and immediately noticed the difference in quality at all levels. 64 Bit platform gives it the edge in all areas. The flight model is very nearly there, I usually do a complete test card on all aircraft to find out what they are capable of replicating from the real aircraft. Stall series at different weights, climb performance, fuel burns and system functionality.
Personally I have flown over 400 types of Aircraft from Cessna singles, light twins, Turboprops, Light Jets and Medium and some heavies. My back ground in engineering and test piloting allows me to make these observations from real world situations.
Conclusions
The X Plane 10/11 is certainly the better choice due continuing support and flight dynamics. I must add that single tail draggers are not modeled well with ground handling in both "Sims". Force feedback controllers when they become less expensive and get better will help as there is just no feel when the mass starts moving it is too difficult to catch visually with no "seat of the pants". As I am in Level D Sims twice a year, in my opinion, these cannot be a full training aid for pilot training but are getting much closer. Procedures and simulation are possible and helpful. They are good for pre-visualizing a real world flight within certain limits.
Nice and fair comparison video and maybe before $100's or $1000's of dollars are spent on add-ons, a good decision on the platform will be helpful.
CE- 500, 525s, 650, 750 and IAI1125, CL60 and a few others
Thank you very much for such an elaborate comment, I truly appreciate it. Hope you don't mind, I pinned it to the top.
Robert Phelps a fair and valued comment on a great little comparison video
Thanks for the kind words and I have I think a good background to be able to give a useful comment to help buyers make a better decision for their Simulated flying hour.
Cheers Robert
FSX was an absolutely great simulator if in 2016 we are still comparing it with new simulators that are coming, being FSX from 2006. A simulator that can keep fresh for a decade is a great sim. Keep in mind that FSX is closer from FS98 than it is from now.
As I have tried both programs and can evaluate them against REAL World situations and Simulator training I have done at American Airlines Training, FlighSafety, SimuFlite, Manned Flight Center NAWC-AD Pax River And Quick Turn.
P3D is a continuation program from the 32 bit FSX by Microsoft. What you at home use is not a full motion based software that Lockheed Martin builds for Level D with 6 degrees of motion. Those cost more than $100,000 and will not run on a home PC. It would be great if that was what you were getting.
R.I.P. Flight Simulator X.
"I have been forced to r.i.p. my edition of FSX, as Windows 10, simply does not wish to run the software correctly."
Major Gowan Resident of Fawlty Towers is still works with me
Had the same problem with flightsim delux, found out through trial and error its the expansion pack that stops it from running , so either dont install or uninstall the expansion pack and all should be good...sort of! You can't have the nice graphics you had before so this is why I am going to make the move to Xplane11 and learn all the new setup and controls.
No sir, the fsx with all the years that it has many people still use it, if they did it again, fsx 11 to 64 bits, we would see which would be better
videos de sede_FSX Even if it would be 64bit program there is still tons of other stuff to take in consideration.
8:16 what was that man thinking about.
X-PLANE 11 for an easy win :-)
"Sad, but true. Worst mistake Microsoft ever made, was to mothball FSX."
AVIATOR-777 yes xD Microsoft is just bullshit...
ClayMC
Back in the days FSX was the best Flight Simulator ever and the only one
And its pretty old so maybe not so weird the graphics are HORRIBLE
But with some add-ons you can make the game look pretty good
Weedy, thanks for saying that for me and other people. They really dont understand that FSX is and old game..
Bitch
FSX been my favorite for years. Like X-Plane 11 got some excellent graphics and all but I'm always a FSX no matter what.
i made the switch about 5 months ago and i will agree FSX is amazing but after switching, i would never go back.
I flew FSX on a CQ60 laptop for years and dug it until my pc crashed forever. Now I want to fly 2020 but obviously need a huge upgrade. Thanks for your very well made comparisons and info to help guide me to the right machine to put me back in the air.
To be honest with both comparisons, I think X-plane 11 is Like a yard away from Fsx. I mean, were comparing a Flight simulator that was made in 2006 with a game that just cams out a couple months ago. Unless if you compare X-plane 10 with FSX, then yeah, It would be in the same place. 8:21 R.I.P Truck.
Let's face it guys, FSX is really a legend... so many years old but it still hanging and giving competition to all these modern sims. The creators must really be proud, there is no other sim that can ever have such a long life FSX has, and you can clearly see that FSX will always stand even thou is no longer being updated. This sim is boss, it was made forever.
Now xplane is the dying legend, how time moves
I'll go for X-Plane 11
Smart choice.Best flight dynamics and Visuals.
Menandro Dalida Jr. are you a pilot in real life
Not yet. Just finish my ground schooling then taking the first 40hrs flying for PPL.
Menandro Dalida Jr. Sir i have a cockpit would u like to buy check my channel
I live in the Philippines
AVIATOR-777 you a real world pilot? I never found X Plane physics realistic.
An outstanding job of interlacing to flight simulators having both I really appreciate this thank you!
Loved FS 2004, it's what get me into flight sims. FSX has never been able to satisfy me. The first time I installed it I thought it was a downgrade from 2004. Performance is crappy, graphic is no better than 2004, default planes are no better. MS patched it twice, couldn't fix and essentially abandoned it. I would never buy mod/addon argument. Any software has to stand on its own two feet. XP11 looks promising, with some support, it could become one of the most successful flightsims. I think the mod developers will see the writing on the wall.
I tried the demo and in my opinion, it felt like I was playing an arcade and not a simulator. It's a shame because the scenery & textures look beautiful, I hope they work on realism.
ssyynntax good to know. maybe they made it so to give newbies a better first impression. In any case, I won't pre-purchase. wait for planes and reviews is what I'm gonna do. In the meantime, there is always DCS.
ahadicow no it isnt.maybe because less plane.but better lighting and ground scenery i use both
It looks like X-Plane 11 is finally going to be the sim that sets the standard over FSX's 10 year reign.
It does seem to look like it.
Well FSX is better for slower PC's but Xplane 11 is More Realistic
TheDragonFlyer Aviation mabye graphic is more realistic because fsx is very old game and on fsx is aerodynamic better than xplane ☺ better when u need play game with ultra good graphic vote xplane but when u need teach on plane vote fsx a prefare fsx
I tried demo of XP11 and FSX flying is like driving a train in term of physics without a good weather engine and a really good plane like A2A :P
TheDragonFlyer Aviation what real world flying do you have?
FSX is for mighty processor! XP11 is more friendly to the processor requirements, but it requires strong powerful video card. The are completely different. The physics of flight is more realistic in XP11. I would prefer XP.
the night lightning in x-plane 11 simply is STUNNING
FSX flys like a video game compared to X-Plane, just saying. FSX can't compete as it is 11 years old. I sure loved flying Microsoft Flight Simulator for the last 25 years. But have enjoyed X-Plane since 2008. P3D is ok but also sucks out if the box. You have to spend a lot more just to get P3D or FSX to acceptable levels. I enjoy the IXEG 733 so much more than the PMDG 738. So much more fun for me. BTW I started swimming in 1986 on subLogic flight sim on the Amiga 2000. Wow sims have come a long way.
Dan Bounds great com
Great video, nice tunes. I appreciate you letting us visually make our own minds up without a lot of jibber jabber. You did an excellent job of allowing us to fairly judge between the two. Thank u
As an airline transport pilot and user of good old fsx,I notice the runway lighting in X11 needs a lot of improvement, and yes, scenery way better in resolution terms but to me as matters most is the runway enviroment and lighting, and for now X11 is out of my shopping list just beause of that.Look at the flashing stobes in fsx brighter and closer to real life. How about a "comparison" of both in IMC conditions? And since i look inside more than outside, scenery in fsx is good enough 4 me and i like the exagerated blue taxiway lights,hehe...I would only buy X11 if satisfies my real life experience specialy at night, rain, fog, etc (I just LOVE imc, ifr) and X11 did not do the job,and this is extreme disappointment.Ironic fsx 10 years old,it lacks some features that X11 10 YEARS LATER didnt fullfil! Oh well... oh and to all the fsx bashers out there,I run fsx almost all full slides smoothly on a W10 64 bit laptop and X11 demo cant even run....oh well again!
The X-plane is best in the aerodynamic issue of the airplane. But FSX is better for IFR. I always use both.
I got that same feeling whit the visibility of the runways. In real live you just pick them out of the scenery because you have a lot charper and higher resolution vision. With x11 that sould be compensated because now most times i can look what i wan't but wont be able to find the runway until it is too late.
grammer mistakes can't save your ass during engine failure or cabin fire, Bromon655. Additionally this is internet, who the fuck cares about correct writing
as an airline pilot .... hahahaha
@ ilynx2008 cool to hear from an ATP. The runway lighting indeed, in X-Plane 11 is very strange. Notice how much it changes when you flip on and off your taxi lights and or runway turnoff lights? As if you're suddenly in another world when you do so. The taxiways and runways are very... artsy, to say the least.
Da hat wohl jemand den FLusi-Fix nicht verwendet, wegen der übergroßen Runwaylichter im FSX :D
Aber super zusammengestellt. Danke für die Einblicke! Tolle Musik dazu.
The addons for fsx cost a fucking fortune
But they are worth it
It depends on what you get
Sky Kore Nah, not anymore.
Pirate download :-)
My P3D V3 with add-on (PMDG-777/737/REX/different airport scenery etc) are totally free of charge
pomaranc747 i bought the PMDG 737-8/9 and the whole A320 family ;)
The most ameazing thing about FSX, is that doesnt matter where you live, there is problably a custom map from your location to add on.
It is an amazing FSX feature! I couldn't find my local airport scenery on XP :c
Good thing XP comes with easy to use software for scenery creation, I made my local airport in 2 days, and it is my pride and joy!
FSX was way ahead of it's time, but the other sims have caught up and even exceeded over the last 11 years.
On an unrelated note, what's up with the crazy haze in XP11? Seems a bit much and takes away from the realism. Anyway, that's just my opinion, of course. I cannot speak for others.
It truly was. The haze I do believe sometimes its a bit much, but overall I find it to give a more realistic feel. Keep in mind that the haze can look more dramatic at certain times of the day.
It's a beta...there are a number of things that need to be tweaked. XP11 looks fantastic out of the box (so to speak). It is a huge step forward. The user interface is fantastic. There are some that would like more of the old ability to customize. That might happen. In the past the UI turned people off. It won't any longer. The default scenery is great. The clouds....not so much but Skymaxx Pro fixes that.
That haze seems to be the air pollution we have now a days. FSX displays no air pollution what so ever, which for me I feel makes it unrealistic.
The haze may at moments be a touch too heavy, but only very little and doesn't seem like the case in this video. When the sun is near the horizon, especially in the morning, the haze can very realistically be this heavy (even more!). Landing into the sun, you almost can't see the runway until you're on a 2-3 mile final. At 6:50, that is *really* what a landing in the morning haze often looks like.
I think sims of old have spoiled simmers with a much too clear atmosphere. People on the ground don't realize just how bad horizontal visibility is at times, because your horizon is usually just a couple of miles away and you rarely have to try to distinguish shapes against a flat background. Try standing a mountain ridge sometimes and see just how far away you can distinguish flat shapes on the ground: farm4.staticflickr.com/3148/2979277404_f123f2d537_z.jpg
SuperRealityKid are you pilot in real life if yes which plane do u fly
I have spent MANY hours on MSFS since version 2 back in the 80's. I will always have a fond place in my heart for that sim set, but XPlane is where its at now.... MSFS folks still clinging, make the move... Its SO worth it, and Im glad I did!!!!
Good video, I’d just like to point out those landings... he had 2 chances and ruined both! No hard feelings though! 😂
:P
I recall when _FSX_ screenshots came out and I thought it looked amazing. It may still hold up somewhat today, but it does look quirky against _X-Plane 11_. It did compete against _X-Plane 9_ or so.
8:18 Was that Harrison Ford in that delivery van ??? LOL
Great demonstration , I'll ask the Xplane box for New Year.....
FSX: 2006 / X-P11:2016 (not comparable) (my opinion)
As long as they both cost money and are still sold, it's fair game.
You have reason to compare it would have to do a new fsx to 64 bits and with the technology that is now, then we would see the differences and I do not think x-plane was any better than fsx
as a bush pilot seaplane flyer, try to "dock" a 172 float plane to any hard surface like a shore line or dock overlay and watch the plane jump, tip over, and crash in xplane 1 thru 11. Then do it with FSX and see the dif. FSX is still light years ahead of xplane in any flight that deals with water and I fly both systems.
Imagine a FS2017 from MS that would destroy x-plane xD
DoniStunts That would kick x-plane from the market in 1 blow
Too bad microsoft turned it's back on us... :/
X-CHECK I never understood why they left it if it got very good sales, I guess FSX was enough for them with the amount of graphical add-ons it has on it.
Well, good sales for a flight sim.... But not good sales as a call of duty for example :/
X-CHECK I mean, I think it takes less money to make a flight sim than a Call of duty, anyways I dont care to much bcs I dont have a gaming PC or laptop in my case
That X-Plane landing was a thing of beauty. What a difference great shadows and lighting make.
7:59 , FSX kind of looks better with the runway
I thought the same thing..
Thanks for this well produced and honest comparison. There is really not much in it! I would have expected a far greater improvement in ten years! I am aware that the flight modelling in X-Plane is more accurate but this video shows that for the average hobbyist, secondhand copy of FSX will be a lot cheaper and there is a wealth of free and excellent addons out there. I use both X-Plane, FSX and even FS2004 for some of the extensive addons I got for it. Thanks again!
Thank you Andre! Glad you enjoyed.
UI of X-Plane looks good but the sound of the engines are just utterly crap
X-Plane uses a default soundset but it includes complete 3D audio which reacts depending on where you are, your angle, whether you are outside or inside, have a window or door open etc. So sure FSX may have custom sounds for every aircraft, they aren't exactly correct either and do not offer 3D audio.
Intel & Nvidia SUXXZZZ!!! That is why it is default. They know nobody will fly the defaults very often so much work in it will not be needed, as third party aircraft are getting better and cheaper than ever before!
It's beta they might put a different engine sound in the next update
Intel & Nvidia SUXXZZZ!!! It's a beta that's why
The IXEG 733, 727-200, 732 (x-plane) sounds better than any plane in any sim. Have you even used these planes in x-Plane?
I've been a Microsoft flight simmer since the 80's and love how it has progressed over the years. FSX is still an excellent tool that I use in real world flying. If I ever upgrade my 10 year old computer, I will look into Xplane11. You can't dispute the graphics are incredible.
That's exactly how I felt about four years ago.
fsx.exe has stopped working...
You stopped working
Well, I had talked to an American Airlines FO once in the flight deck before departure to Chicago, and he recommened this one Version of X-Plane that is apparently the only home sim that is actually FAA and CAA certified for sim practise! But it is EXPENSIVE! Like $400 or so!
the acceleration of the aircarft in xplane is a bit un realistic and the choice of aircraft seems quite limited in x plane
jayjay2016 Because it's a beta...
The choice of aircraft in XP is rapidly growing! The last 2 years have been amazing, and I assure you, 2017 will just get better. And i'm not surea bout the acceleration in XP looking unrealistic. It looks fine to me. Thanks for leaving a comment jayjay2016!
Most of ACs in XPL are joke. Sorry there is maybe 5 good Acs for XPL
C172, 340A, B727, B737, B757, B767, B777, MD80, A320, A330, DC-6... Just some of the AC I own and are pretty darn good. I come from FSX owning all PMDGs, A2As, and the Majestic Q400, so I know how a proper AC looks like and feels. Tell you the truth, sometimes I go back to fly those birds, but the hassle with FSX is not worth it, the experience is just (personally) better on XP.
What? X plane is used to train real pilots - it is known to have the best flight dynamics by far.
FSX looks great for a 10 year old sim though
Really nice split screen. I wish there were more so well prepared comparisons.
There is no comparison between FSX, ten year old faulty dead code that can only run DX9 (and one cannot include DX10 as it's preview code only, nowhere close to the finished DX10 (FSX was already dead when DX10 full was released), and now DX11 mainstream, with DX12 around the corner, and ANY modern day SIM, never mind XP11.
You can pump all you like in addons to FSX, and it remains DX9 rendered, P3D and XP10 out the box along with DX11 beta, blows FSX out the water. And none of the notorious OOM's or CTD's due to VAS issues in FSX, with XP11. That's it game over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well FSX also came out in 2006, so yeah duh.
I enjoyed that. Visuals are often better than words.
xplane was already far better in v10....only one certified by FAA and with real physics. More demanding but very rewarding....All other sims are a bit Arcade games.
I always love the right before touchdown cam comparisons. FSX looks like the plane is on invisible rails while XP you can see the angle of attack of the wings is directly effecting the flight model in real time. All in all easy win for XP. I already switched and looking forward to the full release.
When I switched it was an amazing feeling. It did feel like I was not running on rails anymore, my aircraft was now suspended in the air by lift... Game changer, or I should say.. Sim changer...
Are you kidding me? Of course X-plane 11 is better when looking at out of the box software, only with payware addons, fsx will look good.
The only reason why I'm still playing fsx is because of nostalgia reasons and because I have payware addons
I agree man x plane 11 is much more realistic fsx is copying p3d
Islamic reciter Nah fsx isn't copying p3d
No, P3D is based on FSX source code. Lockheed bought it from microsoft. That is why they are simmilar.
Like I said before, the reason FSX fall short is not because of software limitations, but rather hardware limitations. Had Microsoft mentioned that FSX required far higher computer specifications, no one would have bought it, for no one had systems powerful enough to run it efficiently.
FSX original specification called for:
Win XP or Vista(1Gb)
2.0 Ghz Processor
128MB DirectX 9 videocard
15 GB of hard drive space
Based on these specs, my cheesy laptop can run this... but it can't. In order to run FSX efficiently, you need:
4.0 Ghz Processor
32 GB RAM
2GB or higher videocard
250GB SSD
EXACTLY THANK YOU
Thanks for the video. I've been running each version of MSFS since 1998. I have a very old Dell XPS that's nearing the end of it's useful life, as is FSX (IMO). My 25" Samsung monitor quit last month, and I've been relegated to using my old Dell 20" monitor (looks like crap). I'm now strongly considering buying a 5k 27" iMac and installing X-Plane 11.
FSX looks like a cartoon up against XP11.
Mike C maybe some day x plane will have realistic physics
@@gracepierce1024 ahh yes,it's not like fsx came out in 2006 with the 32 bit era and x plane coming out with 64 bit code that is wayyy more capable than 32bit.it's like comparing a the Ford model T to a Lamborghini.
i like the strobe light effects on the ground with X-Plane much better.
I have had FSX for 5 years now downloaded heaps of addons but X-Plane has many of my FSX Addons as standard.
will definitely be buying X-Plane 11.
Why in the fuck would you compare these? FSX is over 10 years old now. XP11 just came out. It's like comparing Windows 10 against Windows XP.
Woah, take it easy buddy. You seem terribly triggered. As it is stated in the video description: "This is not a comparison to see which one is best, more like a tribute on how far we've come in the past 10 years." Do you disagree that this video shows what we have accomplished in the past 10 years regarding flight sims? Also, no, it is not like comparing W10 against WXP, between those two various Windows OS were created from the ground up (Not using ancient source code). Outside the X-Plane franchise, the last proper general aviation flight simulator built from the ground up is FSX (P3D is a modded FSX, Aerofly FS2 does not meet the current hardcore flight sim standards, and DCS is a military simulator). If you know of other general aviation simulator that is comparable, built from the ground, widely used by the flight sim community, and shows how far we've come in the past 10 years, please do let me know! Cheers.
Everyone desperately clinging to antiquated software because it bears the Microsoft name lol. I moved to Xplane immediately after Microsoft announced it was firing the ACES team and pursuing a more arcade style sim... (Microsoft flight)
Never looked back...
I Agree
What IS The Music In 2:17?
Why Is It A Secret? Just Tell.
I found the song name if anyone wants to know.
Beginning track is Tfb9 by Daniele Matracia
Good song
Microsoft FSX is still the best...X-Plane 11 seems good too...but there's lot of differences between them...you've played both as a default aircrafts and default sceneries...when we fly in noon or even night time, we can see that Papi lights helps us to land easier...but in X-Plane 11, we can't see the Papi lights even flying in foggy weather...don't let X-Plane cheat you as it is more realistic then FSX...no...with add-ons FSX is the most realistic simulator...besides, i hate to struggle to taking off an aircraft in X-Plane series...i hate to struggle about controls of X-Plane series...i can fly easily in FSX even with a simple gamepad...i completely hate that i can't fly an any aircraft in X-Plane with a simple gamepad...i can't fly even with a mouse...mouse?...why should i fly with a mouse?...besides, aircrafts in X-Plane series are not stabilized and not balanced to control them...the yaw dampers of those aircrafts doesn't work...i hate this simulator that i can't fly easily ...eventhough FSX is 10 year-old simulator, it is still the best simulator with add-ons and looks the most realistic simulator...
I do not agree with a couple of things you say, but thank you very much for expanding on why you prefer FSX. If it works better for you, it is a better sim for you c:
true murat
Do you......Always....Talk like......This......
I made the switch from p3d 3.4 to xplane 11 and I'm not looking back. The quality of environment, haze and sun effects, intelligent smoothing of frame rates, aircraft dynamics and many other things are way better in xplane 11. But I miss the flight planner of p3d/fsx and my airbus a320 family addon. The default b737 in xplane makes up for it quiet a lot, although I hate that hair dryer like sound of engine.
fs X runs only on windows
x-plane runs on, windows, mac, linux, iOS and android
you are nearly comparing bananas and apples.
Lemak Enamir yes he is comparing 10 years old banana and fresh apple and if you want 10 year old banana to look like fresh apple you need to invest in prepar3d
***** What it has to do is that you should compare fsx to x-plane 8 because they are from the same time when your x plane was availible on win and mac only.
and yes i dont know why i said about looking like xD
That's why it's called "Microsoft Flight Simulator X"
Who the heck plays Flight simulators on Mac???
your youtube channel is the best 😁
flight simulator is the best I don't play it now because my laptop is not working
FSX is better
Its better if you get add-ons
But FSX Without add-ons Then X-Plane 10 will win
Great video! I always reverted to FSX from each version of X Plane because I always felt the sim was incomplete. It is getting time to finally drop my old sim. FSX does have a far better variety of stock aircraft though, which is big.
xplane - 2016
fsx- 2006

Is there any option in X-PLANE 11 for turning off the Fog? The Haze ist a little bit exaggerated in my opinion...
Yeah, FSX is a piece of crap, but Ive spent hundreds of bucks on it and I have many planes ready to fly, Q400, Cessna Mustang, C182T, and others, very very very accurate(90 % of the systems are simulated), could Xplane tell the same????
X-Plane is rapidly growing in add-ons ACs with high systems symulation. FF757, 767, IXEG 737, AirFoil C172, PMDG DC9, and some others...
how about hornet f18??? i always fly it in FSX!!! :D
HighAway for military aircraft I would recommend DCS, that sim is amazing!
how about air hauler 2 and addons of this sort?
Yes lol, all of xp11's default planes comes with 85-95% of the systems/switches fully functioning and operational.
FSX Runs good on old but modern systems & takes up less gigs. Though I play both simultaneously.
Another comparison between a 10 year-old game and A brand new one... If XP-11 was not better Laminar should give up and call it a day. FSX was a trailblazer, and I am happy to see a visually stunning out of the box XP-11...which I will purchase.
Excellent video and comparison. My question is , when will XPLANE11 will be out of the beta stage?
Thanks,

The title: fsx vs xplane. First 3 seconds: I’m not going to compare the two games.
I lost it when that van crashed into the aircraft on the runway :D
nice video. I hope xplane will adopt realistic wing water vapor/longer contrails like FSX has....but overall xplane 11 (even in beta) looks very nice.
Those would be some nice features.
So far I haven't been convinced to upgrade from XPlane 10 to 11. Do you have a video of that? FSX SE still has a lot of color to it, I could tell that was Palm Springs Airport by the amount of smog....or was ir haze? Thanks for the videos I really enjoy them. After all once you're up flying, there's nothing to do but check out the eye candy............
Xp11 is still in beta so who knows what's gonna happen in a few months. My pc isn't a gaming pc and in the demo i got like 8fps which isn't very good. So you're gonna need some really good specs.
No, ju just need high single thread CPU. For example OCed Pentium 3258, it gives you mostly same performance in FSX as latest i7
bad that i have 24 lower end cores
by the way how good does x-plane support multiple cores?
I read a claim they did their home-work, remains to be confirmed, we're still beta.

Currently X-Plane doesn't support multi-core processing very because of the limits with OpenGL. Sure, autogen, AI aircraft, etc. are processed on different cores, but the bulk of the sim runs on just one. I don't know about X-Plane 11, but I doubt it will change much as it needs an update to OpenGL for advanced multicore support.
I play Fsx, but I'm going to buy X plane 11, it's very beautiful and the best physics that Fsx, but there's no way to compare a game that was released 10 years ago with one that's launching now, it's a long time, great video.
It's a long time indeed. Thank you Andre!
Music that starts at 1:53?? And no, it's not any track made by Chris Zabriskie (Just checked)...
Steam knew their audience and knew there were enough mainstays for FSX that they would make a decent buck by rescuing the simulator from obscurity! and it truly has aged very well!
I just started. FSX still looks good for its age. And from what I know has A LOT more add ons and large community.
Yes, that's what 10 years can do...
I'm a noob simmer with fsx currently. Why does everything look so Hazy in x-plane. It's not always that hazy in real life.
Also noticed that at around 7:40 , the x-plane version of the runway didn't have any runway lights on like in fsx. Is that because that's not modeled in x-plane?
Greate video, I can immediately tell the quality difference. Btw what’s the sound track?
x plane 11 sky looks like the one at the suns red giant phase
dude ur intor ia awesome.. did u make it?? if not can you tell me where to find quality intros like this or give me some tips or point me in the right direction to learn how to do what you have done. amazing job man happy holidays btw
Why thank you! I did the intro my self and it is way more complicated than a intro should of been. I have some experience using Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Audition and Premiere, hundreds of layers later I got this. Probably the easiest way to make a good intro is to buy it (No idea where) or create something on 3D with a software like blender. Hope that is helpful!
holy cow so u made all of this from scratch?? i thought maybe u purchased access to some assets/ stock footage ! man dude i can only imagine how much time it took. amazing job man im even more impressed!
lol yeah, it was some intense work! I have had more people asking about it, I will post a video about how I made the intro soon c:
What is the name of soundtrack (which is just after Chris Zabriskie's "I Don't See the Branches, I See the Leaves" -- when the planes start to accelerate)?
#X-CHECK What Is The Orchestral Intro Song??
And with that...I think Xplane has basically just captured the entirety of the flight sim market.
Xplane is great for the casual simmer that wants a great sim out of the box.
Fsx is for the hardcore simmer that wants the best sim possible, and is willing to put 100s into making it that way.
Why not have both? c:
The music sounds like it belongs on the credits of an 80s fantasy film....
que hacia el camion en 8:21 de fsx? jaja gran video viejo gracias!
MFSX is worth it. For going back before the 2000's it was amazing for it's time.
¡Beautiful, beautiful, thank you very much!
I was a fsx prepar3d pilot, but after i bought xp11 i rarely go back to them..
Physics feel much more alive in xp11 and it looks better...
And i even had orbx and other payware airports..
I feels you bro!
Dank Steam, guter Add-ons und starken Rechnern hat sich der FSX gut gehalten.
What kind of system do you use? I mean wath kind of processor and video card and so on.
How can you compare a Software from 1940 and a software 2020 ? Sure there is a huge difference :) But its a nice view back, how they devs going on.
2006 vs 2016 product! i have both and will stick to fsx(p3dv3) for a long time, simply because of lack of study modell planes in x.plane ! p3d has alot of them and many are scheduled for 2017
Yes FSX 3rd party aircraft are amazing! I really miss my PMDGs, Majestic and A2As...
Not to talk about people who spent a lot of money for FSX scenery addons, aircrafts, airports, ASNext etc etc....
Xplane 11 is the best simulator since it exists, FSX was the best simulator in it's era, about 12 years ago, I used FSX for more than 8 years and i still love i am very thankful to it bcos all i know about aviations is thanks to fsx but the real thing is xplane 11 is the best simulator ever exists
FSX Ultra Realism videos: "Too dark, Gray, 100 addons, and other software for planning and recording."
X-Plane 11 Ultra Realism videos: "Amazing, 3 addons, and just recording software."
Honestly there wasnt even a need to compare them - Xplane was already next level simulation in version 10
Yet in the community I met so many people who spoke very badly of XP10 and praised FSX. They wouldn't even try XP out...
That's was awesome video, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed, and thank you!
I have to say that X-Plane 11 looks great and i am thinking about switching over from FSX but i have spent alot of money on add-ons for FSX but maybe now is the time to switch.
Great Video Fella and +1 sub North Wales UK
I've got to hand it to them, FSX was the best simulator of it's time. But it's not it's time anymore. That ended quite a while ago. X-Plane definitely has it beat by landslide now. I've played both, and the difference is just outstanding! I mean, if you look at FSX, you will not only see the obvious difference, but flying it is a whole 'nother story. Also, X-plane comes in a file in which you can modify yourself, even though there is no need. You can also add planes simply by going to the website and dragging files over into the folder. For FSX, you have to go into the programming menu, blah blah blah, and enter numbers and stuff. Believe me, I've done it. For X-Plane, you can crate your own airplanes! One history fact about X-Plane that just popped into my head is that this simulator is the first one to ever make an accurate test-flight on Mars! Microsoft has accomplished no such thing to the date that I've last updated it.
I would have to say that, by far, X-Plane has definitely got the upper hand at this competition.
Flight simulator does not predict the performance of any of their aircraft! That's maybe why I've experienced such poor control. I'm a pilot, so I know what I'm talking about! Microsoft has a preprogrammed flight characteristic to each individual aircraft, while for X-Plane, each flight model is a test. Also, what's pretty funny to me is that FSX has pretty poor lighting graphics. Since I've had them both, I know what they're supposed to look like. The graphics on both are standard, and FSX graphics don't get much better. X-Plane's graphice are wicked realistic! What I like is how X-Plane has Orthohotos of their scenery, while Microsoft has programmed terrain for tundra, tiaga, ect.
I give Microsoft Flight Simulator X a B-, But X-Plane gets an A+!
I have X-Plane 10 and FSX SE, overall, X-Plane has a more realistic feel of flying than FSX, The one thing I don't like about X-Plane is you have to use the CD to start the simulator, I'm not sure if there is a work-around but I hope we won't have to do that in X-Plane 11.
Now with the digital versions there is no need for having a cd around! c:
