Hey, so a number of people have had problems with the whole "Reshade not showing up in sim". MAKE SURE you do these things:
1.) The installation file must be unzipped... its direct contents must be placed directly into the X-Plane 11 main folder, NOT "Custom Scenery".
2.) When opening the ReShade menu through "Shift + F2", go to the "Settings" tab. Where it says "Shaders Path", open up your X-Plane folder on your desktop (or wherever else it may lurk on your computer), open "reshade-shaders", then open "Shaders". Copy the COMPLETE folder directory from this window (on the top), and paste it into the "Shader Path" section.
2a.) Complete this step again, except for the "Textures Path" section, open "reshade-shaders" in the X-Plane 11 folder, then "Textures", and use THAT folder path.
3.) Go back to home, then press "Reload". That should work now that the shaders and textures are referred to exact folder paths on your computers. These paths MUST be manually inserted as of now because they are usually incorrect when first launched in X-Plane 11.
4.) If STILL nothing loads for you when you enable the ReShade with the hotkey ("ScrollLock" is default, but I recommend "Shift + ScrollLock", note this:
If anyone has problems actually loading the .ini files from the "Home" tab, know that almost any folder path in the ReShade menu that starts with "E:\" is probably wrong, as most peoples' X-Plane folders are installed in the default Windows "C:\" directory, with exceptions.
To fix this, open the "OPENGL32" file you installed in the X-Plane root folder. Make sure you open the "Configuration Settings" file, NOT the .dll or .txt files. In OPENGL32, under [GENERAL], change ALL OF THE FOLDER PATH extensions starting with "E:\" to that ACTUAL HDD/SSHD/SSD folder path your X-Plane 11 is installed in (ie: "C:\" or "D:\"). This will further ensure that ALL Shaders, Textures, and .ini preference files are being loaded from a path that actually exists on your computer. ;)
Make sure to restart X-Plane for these changes to take effect!
Note: I was having problems, even when watching this video. By doing these things, I got ReShade to work. Cheers, and good luck! Thanks to Q8Pilot for an awesome demonstration of ReShade!
and when Shift F2 does nothing even when it is installed right?
For me pressing "Shift + F2" pulled up the menu. Make sure the contents of the ReShade package are unzipped into the root X-Plane folder.

After putting the files into my root folder I load up xp. Hitting shift F2 brings up the same screen as you but without the options for the different effects. I made sure it is loading from the root folder and not the one it had from default. I've tried reloading and selecting different .ini but nothing changes. Any ideas?

Very informative, it's great that the people who make these mods to help and improve X-plane and even for free just like your many videos you have made for all to see which must take time so you all are must congratulated on what you are doing to promote what is going to be the number 1flightsim. I've had to put my flight sim flying on hold due to some health problems but at least I can watch your excellent informative and entertaining videos. I like the intro of this one very Thomas looking.

Another top video about XP 11! Though I am unsure if I should go for XP 11 or switch from FS9 to P3D. I was able to have a look at XP10 and the thing I missed was a in-sim flightplaner like the one from FS9 or P3D.

Fantastic vid Osamah! After watching this vid, I'm definitely buying X-Plane 11 today. it began bugging me (more quality and a far less expensive for addons, etc.) I bought P3D 2 weeks ago (Glad they have a 60 day refund policy-returning it). I enjoyed P3D and even picked up the 747 V3 (RIP wallet) but then I began to realize that in the long run, the amount of $$ that I would be spending to update the sim/rebuy aircraft (the PMDG 777 and NGX WITH the expansions is $300) and new versions (V4, V5, etc.) wasn't worth it, whereas XP has some great FREEWARE tools like you described above that make the sim look stunning. As you know, I had XP 10 but removed it from my SSD cuz of PC issues. If I didn't have problems, would I pick up P3D? No, absolutely not! I tried the demo only need a new PSU cuz of random power failures with the demo (bad PSU lol)
I put the 1000th like. I haven't watched it all yet but I couldn't resist :)

I've been doing some experimenting with hardware for Xplane 11 and I have found that on my 4 core 8 thread i7 turning Hyperthreading OFF can give you better performance if your also running various addons. I found this especially noticeable if your using Exenviro for weather.
I noticed higher frames and smoother flights in bad weather using Exenviro where as when Hyperthreading was enabled I had loss of frames especially in bad weather to the piont where I simply turned Exenviro off.
Turning Hyperthreading off not only gave me much better performance in Xplane 11 but also the cpu temps where down 10 degrees.
I tried the same test on my 8 core i7 and noticed that it also made a difference but not as noticeable as the 4 core.
Maybe other Captains might give it a try, especially if you are using a 4 core 8 thread cpu and see if it makes a difference ie smoother experience, this seems to especially help if you use Exenviro in lots of cloud coverage etc.

Great video! I love these kinds of videos where users share their tricks on how to make x-plane look even better. Reshade definitely has a significant impact on framerate unfortunately (or at least it did for me).

Hi dear, I'm using triple monitors on my homemade Cockpit, how can we turn off the digital cockpit on our screen, and replace it with Hud and prop for using homemade Cockpit . There is an option on pull down menus but it shows only digital airspeed and altitude on front panel but no Hud and prop. Thanks

I’m going to ask that I have an Mac computer I know it only for windows but if I get an window keyboard and press Shift+f2 on the window keyboard and not Mac will the settings pop up because on the Mac keyboard it don’t work
you can hit shift F2 on Mac but if it only runs on windows it wont work......that why it says it runs on windows
But will it work if you have an window keyboard? And not an window computer a Mac computer because I don’t know if it counts on what computer you have or what keyboard you have so I’m just asking do you need to have an Mac and a window keyboard or a window computer and windows keyboard?

Yes it does have an impact on FPS, but the actual FPS hit will depend on your machine specs.

Correction to the installation (Fixes "nothing happened after Reload pressed" problem)
When inputting the path into the *"Effects Search Path"* box, you should have the path to the *"Shaders"* folder inside the *"reshade-shaders"* folder that you moved into the X-Plane directory, not just the main X-Plane directory.
When inputting the path into the *"Texture Search Path"* box, you should have the path to the *"Textures"* folder inside the *"reshade-shaders"* folder that you moved into the X-Plane directory, not just the main X-Plane directory.
The path should look the same as the video from "~X-Plane 11\..."
Only then will it actually load the shaders.
I also had problems trying to load the presets as the path was not correct. After manually inputting the correct path with one of the presets (using the little plus symbol next to the drop down list) it found the rest for me.
I installed reshade today after watching the video and found out it will not work in x plane 11 if you are running 3 monitors in full screen mode. As soon as you open up x plane 11 the reshade program opens and it is frozen you can not do anything but use task manager to get out. Has anyone else had the same issue?

According to the author it only supports one monitor (as of now, at least. I would think.).

Thanks for the sharing. I have question, hope you can advice me. I installed alpilot’s HD Mesh Scenery V3, W2XP models and MisterX’s Airport Environment HD textures. However, road textures are really annoying and my scenery looks like web of asphalt roads with large sidewalks. Do you have any advice to fix it looks more realistic (or better)?

I have XEnviro and this app cut my frame rates almost in half. I deleted the app and all is well again. It's too bad because it had some nice effects.
It does work with xEnviro. I didn't suffer much drop in FPS - about 5-6 only.

It's great, but you have to go through and manually enter in each and every preset's full path from the XP11 installation (and you can't copy and paste). I don't really want to take the time to do that.
Any tips on getting this to work with a triple monitor setup? Locks up during load every time and apparently its not compatible with triple monitors. Trying to find a work around.

Thanks buddy, the impact on FPS is about 5-6 on my machine. You may need to lower your settings a bit if you are running a low end machine for sure.

gr8 one bro ! I have this Cabin altitude problem everytime I fly with jar,ssg a ramzzess,as the plane starts decent from 30k + feet the engines goes idle and results in Cabin Autitude alarm ,packs 1 2 and 3 goes off and cabin goes really dark,overhead panel doesn't have a switch that will fix it or does it ?
Never had this problem. Did you check the log file? Are you running any weather add ons?
Great video thx. I tried it out on my system and it looks amazing especially if you have ZL 17 and higher ortho. For me running at 4k maxes out my 980 ti to 99% and uses all 6gb of vram, if I disable reshade the gpu drops to around 85% and 5.8gb. Still getting 25+ frames but I havnt gone anywhere too taxing yet. Cant wait till the 1080ti comes out!!

When I press Shift+F2 using the Fn key, nothing shows up. I followed every instruction and reinstalled it over an over but it still doesn't work.

Has it been tested with windows 10? The 'Show Log' button produces a separate popup error screen. There's no text below the 'Home' screen's search bar.

Hi mate, just a quick one, if you uninstall this by just removing it from your main Xplane 11 folder does everything revert back to default ie colour's???

MayDay GoingDown!! Yes it will. You could also just disable ReShade through a keybinding, like what was shown in the video.
You need a nuclear power-plant to run X plane 11 smoothly.

Q8Pilot thanks but I copied everything you did in terms of where I installed it but when I open the reshade interface in XP11 it says my path is in the E: not the C: which my XP11 is in like yours. I then change this E: to the C: then hit reload and I don't get the little message at the top of the screen like you did nor does anything happen when I click my effects toggle key. Also my home screen within the reshade menu only has the path at the top which shows E: \X-Plane 11 etc not C: which it should be possibly causing nothing to appear
