    Did you find this assessment harder than the SLUMS?

    I have LBD and I guess I've taken the MoCA about 2 dozen times. Still getting good scores so I have a long way to go. Love the series of videos!

    I'm 68, clear headed in my opinion and I surprised myself at how frequently I had to pause this video. The questions were coming faster than I could answer! There's a lot about time in the MOCA test but no mention if there's a time limit for answers. What's the likelihood that this comment will be addressed on a 2yr old video for a NEW SUBSCRIBER?😁👍

      I'm not certain if there is a time limit to administer the test, but since it is considered a rapid test, it should only take about 10-12 minutes to administer. That being said, I've spent anywhere from 15-20 minutes giving the assessment depending on the needs of the person. Some people need a bit more time to comprehend the questions or provide the answers. Hope this helps. Reach out if you have any more questions. Thank you!

    I'm confused about how to score the last one. I got everything right except the date but it seems like you lose 6 points just for that?

    • @CrackingtheCodeforCaregivers
      @CrackingtheCodeforCaregivers  ปีที่แล้ว

      On the orientation section, you get a point for each one that is correct. So, if you only missed the date, you scored 5/6.

      I think this test is overly confusing in that , one is asked many complex questions after many other complex questions.
      not real life situation .
      its biased in giving a point to one group . Also at the start it states mark A go to 1 then B . and so on. On to what ?
      Also what subtract 7 from 100 has to do with driving ? as this is used in senior evaluation tests.

      🤣 You need to remember indeed. And never repeat it unless you have other mental disorder. Like compulsions to keep doing same things like a dement.

    Can you prepare in advance for this test

    • @CrackingtheCodeforCaregivers
      @CrackingtheCodeforCaregivers  ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn't. Cognitive tests are supposed to be given without you having any prior knowledge as to what you will be asked.

      Always be ready with the day and date and name of the head of government. A great proportion of today's young people have no clue how to read the time from a traditional clock face, so that is going to have to be dropped.....in time, lol.

      @@CrackingtheCodeforCaregiversThere is nothing wrong with preparing for the test. If you truly have a memory disorder, then preparing for the test won’t matter, because you won’t remember what you prepared for.

    If they draw their own clock rather than use the circle provided, do they get it as incorrect for not following instruction?

    • @CrackingtheCodeforCaregivers
      @CrackingtheCodeforCaregivers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, they can draw their own circle if they want. Just so long as the numbers and clock hands are drawn correctly.

      Busy helping to keep democracy alive so you can vote in future elections and not have to mark the box with the name Trump in it if you don't want to.
