Yeah, I was really skeptical when the rumors were flying around about 4K. There’s still hope that we’ll get one someday. I’m in for one of the OLED models for sure! I travel all the time and the Switch has been a lifeline for me .
It really is great for handheld players that want a nice upgrade - I love my Lite though and was hoping for a boost to my docked experience is all ha
@@TynologyGaming It would have been nice to have a better docked experience! I also really like my Lite. I just took it with me on a quick trip this last weekend. It’s such a great little handheld!
@Neander Meander I think they’re just assuming everyone has an Oled or 4K TV, so when you play the Oled model in docked mode it’s going to be an enhanced experience over the original Switch. But I have what would be called a ‘dated’ TV at this stage so I’m hoping to get a new one soon to have a better gaming experience with the Switch. Either way I think it looks really cool and playing the new Metroid Dread on it would be awesome 😅

I gotta say, I didn’t think it would be 4k, but I was also hoping for some docked improvements.. That being said, I still think there will be another switch. They’re just milking it!
Yep I was just hoping for some sort of performance boost (docked or handheld) - the platform is at a great spot to up the power to a bit more modern standards

It's been a rollercoaster ride for me and my thoughts on this new model. I was going to do a video on it today. But I really need to think about it some more.
Yep, I sat on it all day. By itself it’s all fine, as an owner of several Switch consoles, it’s not what I needed most right now 🤷♂️

I was *this* close to buy it. What really stopped me was the fact that well... I don't have much time to play. I play at nights and usually on my xbox with friends, but I'm glad I found your review and I'm happy you addressed the price of the console vs the hardware it has, now I feel confident not to get one. :P Maytbe somewhere in the future I'll get one of the other versions if it's at a discount.
I'm still in the camp that this console was intended to be a "premium" version with improved performance, and it was pivoted back to the same SOC. Rumors now that a new upgrade is coming next year 🤷♂️
Question is: are you going to do a video on the Valve Steam Deck? I'd totally watch that, and I don't believe I'm the only one.

I still cant believe they pushed the kickstand as a feature when their original kickstand wasn't even functional LOL
Seriously I can’t believe the original kickstand made it into production!
I kind of get how you feel, I was excited (still kind of am) at first, I’m really on the fence about getting one, I think it’s going to sell well out the gate because of Metroid Dread, I think that game is going to be the Switch Oled’s ‘flagship’ game with Pokémon Arceus and BotW2 following it. I have no need for it as I already have the normal switch and two lites. If I do get it I’ll probably get rid of those two and keep one lite and use the Oled model as my ‘main’ Switch. As for the price idk there has to be a reason why it’s $\€50 more expensive we haven’t been told about. I think there’ll be more info from Nintendo to come about the actual performance. Either way it is a bit of a let down it’s not the rumored “pro” that’s been going around for the last two years lol
Yep, I'm in the same boat - on it's own, it's fine, it's good. The rumors and hype didn't help for sure. I hope we learn a bit more about the future of the platform or some sort of hope for an improved docked experience sometime soon!
