Just got mine installed and it was a great experience. Installation was so simple. This pump pumps moar water than I thought possible. It was a spiritual experience for the people that helped me to see water being pumped out of the ground by hand. The whole thing was so amazing!
What is the DEPTH of your Ground Well where you have installed your Bison Pump, Can this Bison Pump LIFT WATER from 300 Feet Depth to get Neutral Thin Water Quality?
I live in the mountains and my static water level is at 200 Ft. My electric pump is at 400 Ft. They dropped a 1,000 foot weighted line and NEVER hit bottom.
That issue was not addressed. Most well installs have the electric cable coming up a plastic conduit on outside of the casing and the cable runs over the top of casing and down. The last Bison kit I installed included a 90 degree conduit fitting that we installed a few inches down on the side of the casing. We used a hole saw to make the hole and then reworked the conduit and cable to go thru this hole/fitting so the top of the casing was clear for the hand pump to sit on. I stuffed a big cloth object ( my jacket) down inside the casing about a foot to keep any tools or other items from falling down in the well, if dropped, while working on the electric access hole.
It won't work on a point well, the 3" hand pump cylinder has to be down in water, point wells are 1 1/4" or 2" pipe. You need at least a 4" drilled well for this deep well hand pump.
there are a lot of questions on here as to how deep this pump water!!if it will pump 350' how much would it cost for 350'/// what is the maxium depth and how much does it cost to get there????
Love this thing. Hope they are still in business. My question has to do with the torque arrestors holding the plastic pipe from shaking around too much. Wondering if can get this new pvc past it
@@1new-man Have installed Bison and Simple pumps. If arrestors are installed I pull up the electric pump and remove them in the top area where the hand pump will extend down. They will be in the way of lowering the hand pump.

Do you know what is the maximum depth of this well? My well is over 200' deep, and I've been looking for a manual pump for quite some time, so far I've found nothing that can manually pump water from that depth,,, Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!!
Its not the well depth that really matters its the static water level from ground level. my well is 325 but my water level is 14 feet from ground level. The well is 325 because of local irrigation for farm and new town water tower with in 1 mile,
These Bison pumps will pump up to 300' static level (that's from the ground level to the top of the water in the well) per their website PDF page here --> www.bisonpumps.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/DW-Hand-Pump.pdf or by going to their homepage and select the type of pump that fits you here --> www.bisonpumps.com/. As Jerry said, the well depth doesn't matter, it's your static water level. You normally want to be significantly below the static water level for dry seasons and dry spells because the water table changes. You have to know your static level anyway so you know how many sections of pipe with the rod in it to purchase. Once you know your static water level, go a few more sections of pipe past your static level for the reasons I stated above. I plan on getting one here in Virginia. We just purchased 5 acres land with a well. My neighbors well is 475', his metal casing is 37' and his pump is sitting at 378'. Neither one of us know the static water level yet. I'm sure it changes with the rainy season, snow melt and dry spells. I'm in the Shenandoah Valley and we have all kinds of shale and stone here. So drilling a new well just to put in a hand pump wouldn't be feasible. The reason I'm looking at Bison is because they have deep well hand pumps. Since i already knew the depth of my neighbors well and I already have a well on my property, the Bison pumps seem like a good choice. At least a smart choice when the power goes out.
Deep well? my well is 600 feet in Arizona do you have any other options besides a pump. trying to pump water out to see if I have any water that is recharge water to see if I have enough to supply my house with water
If you're static is that close to the surface, then you can use a much cheaper pitcher pump that doesn't need a pump cylinder down the well. Although pitcher pumps are not sanitary, and should not be used on wells for drinking water
@ Luna X -- That 12 ft. is the STATIC DEPTH ( depth from the top of the Well Casing to the WATER LEVEL ) . They didn't mention the actual depth of the Well , but it could be several hundreds of feet .
No, it installs at a lesser depth. But, if you have a problem with the electric pump at a later date you will have to first remove the entire hand pump system before you can begin to access the electric pump. Otherwise, the electric pump works as usual and does not even know the hand pump is there.
When the electricity goes out and you have a generator interlock switch on your panel, you can run the well pump if your generator is big enough. We are forecasted to have a big earthquake in the next 50 years (9.0) in the Northwest. The pipes from the well to the house might be broken, so could not use the well pump. If the well is still intact you could hand pump if you have a hand pump. Also recommended where we live to have water stored and purification ability for 2 gallons per person per day for at least a month usage.
These are probably the BEST INSTRUCTIONS for assembling and visual that I have EVEN watched! 💙💜💚

I’m making the investment! Fresh available water without electricity in an emergency or grid down situation is priority No.1!!!
Make this a priority 🍑💨
I make cunninglingus a priority
I thought this was a pretty good tutorial myself. Simple, to the point, and fairly easy to follow.
Very well presented! The explanations were super clear!! Thank you.
Thank you for that tutorial. I’ll be measuring my static water level in ordering a bison deep well pump next week!
How are you liking it?
my well is 280 feet deep, what do you consider a "DEEP" well?
How do you tell your water level if you have the electric tank on it?? How would you set this up for a back up plan in case your electric went down??

Wow.
Had they enough American made string and kept on going, and going, and going, they may have tapped the cook in the midst of a batch of Bat Soup
Great explanation,I only don't see what happened to cables of the old electric pump and if that pump is gonna working still .

@@garyhoward3123 thank you so much for your replay,Mr.Howard.And thank you for your detailed explanation. It's truly great video.
How deep can it go? We have land but it's like 500 ft deep
Do they come install everything, what would the price average on something like this
I’m curious as to how well this pump would work on a deep sand point well. At 30 to 40 foot

MY WELL IS 300 FT DEEP. WILL THIS PUMP WORK ON MY WELL?
Static level is more important than total depth. You may have water at 100 ft static.
You mentioned that the depth of the well is 12 feet. Is that considered deep well? What if I want to dig more to increase the depth?
12 you can use a regular pitcher pump
I have a 80ft well...can this be used and if not...what would u recommend?
How much are these?? I am sure depends upon depth, but say you need to go down 175’..
How much
would it cost to have it installed?
How much you got, sucka?
Excellent video.
What would the gpm be on a 60’ static with this pump?

What is a standard case size. Mine looks the same as his, is that 8" diameter?
Most domestic wells are 6.25 ID or less. That looked standard 6.25 or just usually referred to as 6 in well casing.
What are the wires for ??
Those wires are for the electric pump that is already in the well. He is just adding a hand pump that won't need electricity.
The website is not working right now for dealer/installer locator. Do you have anyone in Eugene/Springfield Oregon area?
Would this work with a pvc casing
Yes it would work. That's what most wells are.
Where is part 2 of this video please ?
There isnt a part 2 . It shows complete install in this 1 video.
Will this freeze at -20?
As long as you have the drain back hole drilled at a depth that does not freeze , no worries at -100F.
If the static water level is 12 feet, than WHY do you have to go down 40 feet?
From my understanding, you want to go deeper because the water is better.
If you're static is that close to the surface, then you can use a much cheaper pitcher pump that doesn't need a pump cylinder down the well. Although pitcher pumps are not sanitary, and should not be used on wells for drinking water
I thought I was watching a video on deep well hand pumps I was interested in knowing how deep that
Deep well in Arizona is 800 feet. Figure that one out lol
not sure I would call this a deep well at 12 ft.
@ Luna X -- That 12 ft. is the STATIC DEPTH ( depth from the top of the Well Casing to the WATER LEVEL ) . They didn't mention the actual depth of the Well , but it could be several hundreds of feet .
Deep well???? My well is 300 feet static water level. It also “dog legs” at the end. I don’t think this is going to work for me.
dont u take the old elect.pump out first

👍👍🇨🇦✌️🇨🇦✌️👍🔧🔧
This is not a deep well.
Why would you put a hand pump on a well that already has an electric pump in it?
Because when the electricity goes out you still can get water from your well.
I'm looking at a property with 2 wells. I'll definitely go with a manual pump for the second well head as a backup 👍
When the electricity goes out and you have a generator interlock switch on your panel, you can run the well pump if your generator is big enough. @@jackier7737 If there is a quake like you talk about the well will be gone too.
