Note: I did this in Windows 10 but it should be the same procedure in other versions too.

Another thing to note is that a lot of these apps allow you to "install" them since they're PWAs. When you "install" them, the app automatically gives you a high-res version of the icon, and the website will open in its own shell. Your extensions will still work and everything.

24-bit bitmaps do not store Alpha, hence transparency is converted to black. These 24 bits consist of just the RGB values.

I'm using Windows 10. Maybe they changed things in 2022/2023, because for me the Properties window doesn't have a Web Document tab, so I don't see any way to "Change Icon" for my shortcuts :( Anyone know a solution?

Hey ThioJoe, not to insult your intelligence, but this video is the 100% wrong way to do this correctly. - 1) Click the 3 horizontal dots at the top right of Chrome browser to access the Chrome menu 2) Next, Click ‘More Tool” from the drop-down menu 3) Finally, Click “Create Shortcut” - This will automatically pull the full resolution FaviCon icon from any website you’re on and place the shortcut on your desktop. 🙃
