im genuinely so happy abt this route - not only bc wxs stays together, but they didn't make asahi a dick?? he acknowledged that rui still wants to stay and make memories w his friends but still also gives rui a career route too??? idk man i just feel like this outcome just fits perfectly w the themes of wxs
Exactly! I really like how they don't portray the natural branching paths in life (and the catalysts of said branches) as necessarily negative! Its very nice, natural and realistic in a sense because the opportunities that come their way and the opportunities that will eventually take them away from each other aren't really antagonistic things at all? Its not some evil entity that they should be fighting peter-pan style to stay in neverland or anything... Its bittersweet!!
@@ArvonOven it is! plus one thing abt wonderlands that i think should be highlighted is the fact that like, if they put in the effort to retain connection that works so well, but also if they arent able to for whatever reason it doesn't mean it should be negative. like look at how much each of them has grown! I think wxs will prob take the former route considering rui and emu's character arcs vs tsukasas and nenes, but honestly it would be so iconic if there story wraps with wxs reuniting irl amphibia style for tsukasas debut or smth bc they've all learned that hard work is important for not only their dreams but also their friendships. I'm sorry for rambling i just hruhfgiufdigdfh i love these kids

THIS IS THE BIG FINALE! YES!
I was right about Tsukasa immediately comparing himself, I think that it was a bit obvious, though. Anyway, the last few lines that Rui had in his monologue at the end were the absolute gold that I needed! I really like when the writers make characters have reflections like that, since it’s such an insight, whether it’s only what they’re believing or the truth.
More about the last scene, it’s like Rui realizing what we all have been panicking about for a while, but he more so puts it in the hands of the future, by the “I want to find a way to make all of our dreams possible” part. Even though this may seem optimistic, his trained card DEFINITELY lets us know that he is saddened by this, regardless of what he tells himself, or us. Even in his monologue it proves this, of how he “lacks a backbone” and is unsure “when he will be finally satisfied with the present”.
I think that I was right to doubt Rui’s “true satisfaction with the present”, as these things are just screaming to me the situation in the Potato event and his conclusion by the end of it; a “we’ll just have to continue to trust each other for now”, but in a less blunt way. It may seem silly how much I keep going back to the Potato event, but I KNOW that he is not close to being satisfied with the present, that he STILL could go back to his fear of being able to find others, just like in the Potato event.
Anyway, thank you and the other translator VERY much for translating this event, and I am glad that you guys provided a translation for all of us to read. This is DEFINITELY going in my “favorite events bucket” and I will be looking forward to what is in the future. Also, I’m curious as to what role Asahi will play in the future, BUT I think I can afford to not go on another ramble.
For friendship, I think that integrity would be one of the first on my list, but I would want someone to have an open mind, but not in a fool type of way, if that makes enough sense. I’d want a friend that is able to be honest, since there is a lot of people who won’t dare to say what they really think. This comes into the next part, of how I would like a friend to be open minded, but not to just dive into anything, they should be smarter than that. If they could take part in what I could plan, I think that would be something nice…
ANYWAY, thank you guys for translating, and I will be looking forward to what’s next!
Thank you for watching and commenting as always! Your analysis and insights are always a joy to read even if I'm not able to reply to them as in depth as your thoughts are on the events! I really do agree with the whole satisfaction thing, especially given the line of work that rui (and everyone, really) has? In the creative industry and as a creator themselves, i think its natural for performers, directors, artistes and the like to chase after something "more"! And of course coupled with rui's childhood experiences of that shaky foundation of what it is to "trust", i think a very worrisome aspect to tackle regarding the nature of creation in a group setting is that there isnt that security of having everything in your hands (if that's how its put?). As it is, artistry is something that isnt as tangible as maths. Theres no right or wrong even if you're playing solo on an independent field of work. But having that unpredictability doubled by working with other individuals on top of the fickle nature of art itself is so !!!!!!!!
And thats a very good trait to have in friendships!!! Good choice!!!!!!

i genuinely cried bc i thought rui was gonna leave wxs bc i paused it right after he said he would like to work with him and i just cried and then i watched more and im so happy he didnt leave otherwise i will have a breakdown

But, It's not like that they will never return, right? And when Rui said, if there's a way to make his dream come true while always stay with his friends together, i wish that there is one. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking, though, if i'm in that same situation, i would find a way to never give up either of them.

Never have I wanted to cry for hours this hard because of a game. I was half expecting Rui to leave the group, and the other half was thinking "but what about wxs"
Seeing that decision made me realise that life can only be worth living if you don't make it impossible to. I'm so much better now and this helped a decent amount with it.
