    A Lifesaver in America is a round ring with a hole in the middle you'd have in a boat or a pool or near a boat dock you'd toss into the water to someone who may be drowning, hence the name Lifesaver. That's where the candy gets it's name. ☺️

    FYI Quick tip if you're choking, raise both arms over your head and stay calm! Raising your arms enlarges the throat opening for some reason, giving a better chance of passing whatever is lodged. Panic will tighten muscles making it worse.

    Alex saying, “She THRIVES on Easter!” 😂 Accurate! I threw these items in for y’all to just share since I knew you had tried them before so I’m so excited you were still able to make a video with them. When I picked up the Lifesavers, all I could think about was the cherry, but figured you can’t go wrong with the texture. 😅 Thanks again for another great video full of laughs! Can’t wait for part 3! 🐣🐰💕

    9:34 They're called "Lifesavers", because they're shaped like lifesavers (the ring you toss out to people when they're drowning in the water [looks like an orange and white donut]).

    My best friend loves anything Reese's and she says that all the special items (Easter Eggs, Halloween Ghosts, Christmas Trees and Santas) are all more full of PB than the Cups. She always looks forward to each new holiday release. I recently picked up the Reese's, Twix, and Cadbury Eggs and had all three on the same day, but not at the same time. Thanks for this! ~Be Blessed

    I think it’s cool that Kate has come over to our side by liking Reese’s. I remember her gagging and nibbling tiny bites of peanut butter things years ago🤣 my favorite Reese’s are the white chocolate cups and the Reese’s cups with the mini Reese’s Pieces. I think it's called a Life Saver because they look like a life preserver ring. update..... I found this online..... In 1912, chocolate manufacturer Clarence Crane of Cleveland, Ohio invented Life Savers. They were conceived as a “summer candy” that could withstand heat better than chocolate.
    Since the mints looked like miniature life preservers, Crane called them Life Savers. He did not have space or machinery to make them, however, so he contracted with a pill manufacturer to have the mints pressed into shape.

    In Ontario, Canada, nuts are banned from schools due to the severity of nut allergies. Ever since maybe 10-15 years ago when a kid died at a camp from a sandwich made with a knife that was improperly cleaned after making a peanut butter sandwich, rules have changed and become more serious. I am not sure how serious it is in the states, but I've been in education in Ontario, Canada for almost 30 years, and have seen the changes.

    I don't like Whoppers or Maltesers because of the middle part. It's a texture thing for me and has nothing to do with the chocolate shell on them. I LOVE Cadbury chocolate. In the US we have had Caramello and the candy shelled solid chocolate eggs at Easter and the chocolate shell filled ones with either caramel or the creme in the middle that is supposed to look like a regular egg for a long time now. I was happy when they made the mini's because it's just enough of a sweet when you have a craving. We have been getting more of the Cadbury chocolates over the years and I'm happy about that.

    No, there are very serious peanut allergies in America and plenty of no nut zones also because many children and adults have died (also some cases of children going into anaphylaxis at playgrounds because other children have been eating peanut products and then touching the swings/slides etc and people going into anaphylaxis while on a plane... a really terrible place for a life threatening allergic reaction). Many people can go into anaphylaxis from peanuts (and many other foods/substances etc) just being in the vicinity as particles can be airborne. Allergies can also worsen over time (and occasionally disappear as people age, but not always) so they should be taken very seriously.

    Missed this last week somehow, but yes nut allergies are still very big here. Most schools don't allow any nut products in the classrooms and at our school those with severe food allergies sit at a separate table, which seems kind of mean. Also, Kate no need to apologize, Whoppers are trash and we always just throw them away if the kids are given them for Halloween because no one will eat them.

    • @ThisWithThem
      @ThisWithThem  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s funny because until today I’ve never thought why we call them that. Such a weird name isn’t it 😂😂 when really we use them to dry dishes! 😂 I’ve just googled and this is what came up …. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a tea towel as "a cloth for drying dishes." Often made of linen, cloth, or a combination of the two, tea towels date back to England in the 18th century, when they were used to insulate tea pots at tea ceremonies (hence the name), dry fine china, and cover baked goods.
      How interesting!!

      @@ThisWithThem What's funny is I hadn't ever tried the peanut butter M&M's until a few years ago assuming they would be as bad or worse than the Reese's ones. I was shocked when I had them for the first time.
      I'm 59, and since my earliest memory as a child, the standard full sized Reese's peanut butter eggs were always in our Easter baskets. We always got four each. They were the prized treat in the basket since they only made them once a year. My Dad thought so too and invariably at least one would disappear from all four of our baskets, if not more. We knew who was filching them, but of course he'd emphatically deny doing so to Mom! Until he was caught red handed! To prevent further stolen consumption of our prized treat going forward, Mom started making Dad his own Easter basket filled with Reese's eggs. Funny how coincidentally no more eggs ever grew legs and disappeared after that! 😜😜😜😜😜. P.S. If you haven't had a Reese's Big Cup (large peanut butter cup), they run a close second to the orginal Reese's egg!! ❤️
