    Both using EPS/Styrofoam so whether you are using fake or original it will save your life.

    The CE is for Conformite Europeene in French. (European Conformity) all helmets have to wear this simbol to be able to be sold in Europe.

    I'm so glad I watched this. Just another reason not to trust or buy anything on eBay. _Quality that lasts_ is so much more important than a cheaper price for something that'll break. Especially for safety gear!

    I have the original one and it is same with the stickers inside the fake helmet on this video. The difference is, in this video, the sticker says "kask spa". Inside my helmet it is written "KASK spa". Probably one way to spot on the original vs fake.

    A very essential video but are the 'CE' safety lables (to be seen on the white helmet) not just the European equivalent of the US ones?

    • @MSRWorkshop
      @MSRWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they are but the us has different standards. And I’m sure that anyone can print some labels and slap them in to make them look real.

    If we go back in time, say 1980s, would the fake ones be inferior than the helmets at that time? These fake ones looks so good today (2022) and way cheaper at $21USD

    • @chroma9848
      @chroma9848 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It honestly just mostly depends on the materials used, generally the fake ones of today are better than the ones from 1980's just by using modern day EPS (specifically the manufacturing process) plus the fake ones also copy the geometrical designs of the authentic ones so that's a good thing for comfortability.

    Great info. I may have just bought a fake if your info is correct. Mine is matte black, $50, has the raised Kask name sticker, but is CE with the lighter gray polystyrene & forehand pad. Have you verified this info somehow beyond your own observations?

    • @pahouseholder
      @pahouseholder 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply! I contacted my American seller-awaiting reply. I also contacted a Chinese seller who replied saying folks know his are fake so it's okay-I am awaiting his reply with quality/construction questions. I also just emailed Kask USA to ask if they have guidelines to spot a fake-I figure let's go to the source. Anyhow, my seams are sloppy; not evenly aligned & a little gappy here & there as well.

    • @pahouseholder
      @pahouseholder 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, sir. It is a fake. A little detective work today discovered mine as a confirmed fake. I messaged back & forth with a Chinese seller on eBay. She admitted they were fake & folks should know that since real Kask comes from Italy not China. She also admitted that they couldn't make them the same or they couldn't sell them as cheap. Then I looked back in the transaction history of my American seller and the Chinese seller. He'd purchased the helmet from her four weeks ago. Your video is right on the money. THANK YOU. If you hadn't posted it, I might be riding with an unsafe helmet for the next 3+ years.

    I think the genuine helmets accessory components (mesh, straps, etc.) are sourced from countries like China. Big surprise how many big name helmets are now made in China, not only in cycling but others like motorcycles and other sports.

    • @massimilianoaccaputo2512
      @massimilianoaccaputo2512 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Incorrect, Kask helmets are all made IN Italy, NOT anywhere else. You may want to educate yourself prior to making incorrect statements online.

    • @remotecontrol9874
      @remotecontrol9874 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@massimilianoaccaputo2512 You've clearly never worked in the cycling industry as I have. You can fool yourself and think that companies, including Italian, do not use cost effective measures in their manufacturing process. Note that several companies claim that their products are made in Europe or the U.S. but they are not. For instance in the early 2000s there were DeRosa frames assembled in Morocco but people were led to believe that they were made in Italy.

      Since it is a fake helmet it does not have The crash testing data. Will it protect your head, absolutely, but the protection you get might not be as good as a certified helmet. Any kind of helmet on your head is better than nothing at all.

All helmets do the same work - one day they are dying for you could to live. But if you can pay 200 dollars for helmet - I'm glad for you! and of course, better to pay it for original one)).
