Hi :-) that's me that you're talkin about. I'm WoodNymph, class of 2017 and 2025. Just being an earth fairy out there. I'm out on the trail just about every weekend somewhere different between Port Clinton and the DWG. That wasn't a clothing line, my tent is ascend 9 Mile, and one real faulty feature about that tent is it sags. So I attach a rope from the tent to the nearest best tree, to give it a little more pull. Happy Trails ✌️❤️☺️
"There's the view, There's the rocks, There's my feet." I really miss the understated New Hampshire sense of humor! Reminds me of all my New England family. Also, I was hiking through a park in New York and heard music. A little farther down the trail, I saw I kid. Maybe 15 or 16 years old. Standing out in the woods, playing an accordion. I thought to myself, "Of course, why wouldn't I see that." 😄
Watching you climb Lehigh Gap brought back memories of climbing that thing. You did make it look easy! I remember we sang “Dumb Ways to Die” while climbing it. I love that your mom is helping you out, so special! -Kami
The woman dancing in the full length dress was Wood Nymph. Class of 2017. She's out there camping with her cat jasper, year round, on most weekends in that area and also some other sites. She also does some trail angel stuff and we will be setting up probably at Bake Oven in few weeks to do trail magic. Too bad you didn't say hi. She's a lot of fun.
You are too funny! Forgot to comment from the last video about how you and your brother got your names😂. Yes I did laugh out loud here my apartment. You have a great personality and that has to be because of your mom and dad? Enjoy your positivity and excitement while you continue your journey. Keep on hiking, Taylor!👍🙌👊🥾❤️
Knife's Edge! Been there many times. How sad is it that the graffiti jerks are back at it on Bake Oven Knob after the local fire departments busted their tails to clean it up two summers ago. That climb at Lehigh Gap is really fun. I have quite a few photos of the bridge from up there. Always have to visit the flag up there too. You can also see the Slatington Airport if you look down the Lehigh River from up there. I love to do the section between Lehigh Gap and Little Gap. I usually park where you were picked up on Blue Mountain Road. That spot where you wondered about being the AT is still the same. But, you can tell later where it changes. There is a sort of fork in the trail where branches and stuff are piled up so you go left to stay on the correct trail. That section you finished before the bridge was re-routed to the original trail last summer too. You now make a left at the communication towers. The Lehigh Gap Nature Center is really good too. They do a lot of educational programs. Have a great Memorial Day holiday!!
Hey Taylor, I don't live too far from The Grandma Gatewood Trail at Old Man's Cave in Ohio where you and Cody did some hiking; really enjoy watching your daily trekking....
I haven’t seriously hiked in 10yrs, but recently started resupplying my gear since gear is so much lighter now. I stopped years ago, because I could never find anyone that wanted to backpack with me, however I now have a good friend that does sections of the AT every year and my kids are now older and interested in joining me. Anyway, I watch your videos every day and wanted to say thank you for the awesome videos and advice.
The rocks look daunting! Making videos and walking on the edge of those rocks make for an interesting day. The views are beautiful! Thanks for your hard work. Keep charging!
Growing up in Pa I thought all trails were that rocky. Then I started hiking in other states and I thought it was heaven. Glad you're enjoying your time here. Keep hiking on!
I sure do love the views from Pennsylvania but that rock ledge look dangerous 😅 and I was wondering why they didn't reroute the trail 😮 You're very fortunate and Blessed Taylor to have such a sweet mom that is very supportive of you and wants to spend time with you. Extra nice video! ❤ Enjoy your time with your mom, its precious. Happy hiking to you! Be careful stay safe and enjoy your Hike. 🙏 Haha to the lady dancing around the fire 😂 i think I'd be concerned too. ;) I'm glad that someone clarified who it was and that she's a trail Angel
Love your videos!!! I also hike the AT when I get time!!! Did that 16 mile palmerton hike to the shelter in November. Doing it again it August. Amazing
Bummer, missed you. Came through on a work day (Friday) ; unless your videos are several days behind. It looked to me that you possibly went up the "Winter Trail" as opposed to the regular trail up the mountain after coming through the Gap. The regular trail is a bit more rock climbing on the other side, but they combine together when you get to the top. That was the fun section I mentioned in your last video and recommendation to enjoy the Scramble. That can be a fun section...and by fun, I mean, it makes me nervous. Maybe they closed it, because it felt a bit sketchy when I went up it about a month ago. The view up there is incredible and I have pictures of the same view (River looking North) from what looks like the same vantage point. I also have pics looking down at the bridge you crossed looking down on the other side (looking south). It's a shame you didn't come up a couple miles to see the Lehigh Gorge with a stop in Jim Thorpe. You should plan a stop on future trip. (Stay a day or so...) Worth the side trip (and a plug for my home area...).
Always enjoy watching you hike. I am waiting to for my feet to heal, I have had two operations on both feet one of witch was to have a toe removed . I may or may not be able to hit afew sections this year I hope but I dont think it is going to happen. I have had all my gear for over a year now and want to HIKE ! Take Care and enjoy and be safe.
Man those rocks look awfully tough to walk on! You are amazing! Glad there weren't any snakes sunning! How did you fix your pole? Aren't those REI traverse poles? I am sure you were taken back by the woman dancing around in the middle of the day...interesting vlog thanks!
That part of the trail looks so intense. I wish the trail looked more like a traditional trail then I don't know. I might attempt it, but some of that is way out of my comfort zone.
I'm wondering if you fixed your pole or were able to replace it in town. I'm also curious if that couple (and others you have met) are motivated to hike because they know you will cross their path at some point.
Glad you got to hike without a pack for some miles! That knife's edge rock climbing looked pretty scary. That was a black vulture you saw early in the video. They are cool--don't attack humans as far as I know and they eat carrion. They are the garbage disposals of the bird world, so are good at recycling.
Agree Pudge. Meals in town, showers and beds. We thru hike for days before resupplying. No one else posting about the AT hikes like the day hiker. Never hikes with others. We met tons and hiked with tons of people.
George I was out jogging from 6:15 to 7:15 as I normally do except when I cut my run short so I can be home at seven when Taylor drops her video and try to be first lol. I’m gonna get ya one of these days!😂👍
@@leedanielson7452 I like that you were out there jogging ..good man . Guess what ? .. I'm going on the AT today for a 10 mile hike (Bear Mountain Bridge NY to Appalachian Trail Deli (for lunch ) and back ... maybe we will run into our favorite hiker, Taylor

Talk about technical hiking..knifes edge!!
Go James!! On Jeopardy Masters.
Climbing up those rocks looked really treacherous! 😬 I'm glad you got to spend a couple of days with your mom. Chinese food looks great 😃
After breaking two trekking poles in Pa I started using the mud baskets…keeps the poles from getting stuck between the rocks.
Holy Cow..Rockavania!
Your mom is the best support team ever. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Thanks for all ur shares i am hoping to do at less the long trail some day ...
Great video once again! Those rocks at Knifes Edge would have taken me a loooong time.

I was terrified during this part of the AT! I walked with my hands touching the rocks most of the time, lol. Papa Parm '21
Good job over 21 miles😅, good video with lots of good views, no rattlesnakes or copperhead 😮, so let's keep on hiking 😊
16+5=ThatsFunny😅

It's the part before the bridge that got rerouted
Is that why the footage of Stretch looked different than where she was?
Hv a beautiful day dear🌹 in Pennsylvania bsafe of snakes 🐍 I hate them as well 😂
Oh goodness..those rock fields and snakes. Careful.
More Mom, more Mom!!!! Love it - “that’s 21, Taylor!” 😂

Having someone help along the way must be a tremendous help. Moms are awesome 🌻👣
Those rocks looked terrible! 😮
Does Taylor’s mom travel with her golf bag?
Gushers...gushers gushers... moms in town.. baby carrots
How spoiled can one get!!!😂

21 might not be much for you, but I think it's probably more than most of your viewers have ever done! In fact, I can't even imagine it.
Yikes! Now I see why they call it Rocksylvania.
Are you a thru-hiker or a section hiker?
Thru-hiker, I started in Georgia in March
What you don’t like witches?
I liked jam jam but rather had Carolyn to win over him or Heidi
Sounds like a witch. :)
Is it really thru hiking if you spend almost every night in a hotel/motel/hostel? Or is it just a series of section hikes/ day hikes?
Why does it matter where she sleeps? 🤣 She's putting in the same miles whether she's in a tent or in a bed. Grow up and hike your own hike.
Agree Pudge. Meals in town, showers and beds. We thru hike for days before resupplying. No one else posting about the AT hikes like the day hiker. Never hikes with others. We met tons and hiked with tons of people.
