Can you imagine being a SPM; paying your union fees for years and then, on the first occasion you need help, getting a visit from someone with this attitude.
What an awful man. I’m very glad l never had to deal with him when l had my post office.

Listening to this horrible excuse of a man just highlights how absolutely helpless those poor, poor post masters and mistresses must have felt when they didn’t even have the support of their union, their union not only threw them to the wolves they hand fed them 😡

The poor subpostmasters and mistresses were completely on their own. Backs turned on them and left to drown by those who were supposed to help them, ignoring their pleas for help. What a terrifying place to be. My deepest respect for them all 🙏🏼

If you’ve been following this inquest all the information is in the emails, phone conversations and actually out of the mouths of the people who have committed fraud and sent innocent people to jail if you believe in the PO explanation and lies etc then your the one that brainwashed or in cahoots!
What Mr. Thomson is overlooking is that the shortfalls were not in the individual SPM's but in the POL itself. His point that there will be issues with SPM'S didn't take into account the issues of concern all the way up the chain of command in the POL with individuals disregard of SPM'S or inability to do their job. In some cases, only to ensuring the profit of the POL was primary regardless of and at the expense of SPM'S.

In 2006 I was a keyworker in a eight week short stay homeless hostel, and part of a team of people campaigning against benefits for some not to be paid directly into a post office account.

@@blackwaterposeidonthewhipp7730 yes he has guts ill give him that but he did absolutely nothing to defend or help his members which was his job. Moreover he still ridiculously denies that there were bugs in the fujitsu system even though his superiors in the post office and senior officials in fujitsu have acknowledged time and time again that there were bugs and faults. So in effect he's being more royal than the king. I see a man here who is in denial to the point of mental instability, and his rudeness under cross examination only compounds the embarrassment and shame the entire post office feels right now.
