    Awesome trip on an ATV. My biggest issue is leaving my truck at a staging area overnight.

    If your in the season/temperature and weather to do so, I highly recommend switching from a tent to a hammock and tarp. Infinitely more comfy and smaller to pack. You can also get a fire going and reflect it into the tarp/cover with some foil.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts and tips. I have thought about hammock camping for a while and perhaps its time to give it a try. Thanks for watching.

    • @willhutton1516
      @willhutton1516 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. I’m saving up to get a 2-up can-am outlander XT-P myself, so I know it won’t be just me camping out there. Packing for 2 is a lot harder than just 1😂

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love to get a 2 up or even a 2 seater SXS. To have someone come along would be awesome! But you’re right, packing is a lot harder for 2 people. But worth the fun and memories.

    • @willhutton1516
      @willhutton1516 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ManzanoManATVAdventures I won’t really get a SxS. As a wise man once said. “You don’t have any “Oh Sh!t!” Handles to hold on to, so your not bound to be trapped inside it. Riding is better than driving.” Plus most SxS require a trailer to be used, taking away the ability to drive most of the way in your vehicle.

    Great opening title. Amazing views up there and that road is great. Fantastic camp site. Lights on for safety really helps with people seeing you. Good job on the clean up, it is so important to take of nature, it is a privilege to have access to it. Thank you for another great video. Stay safe out there.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The road up is a well maintained road because of the research center up at the top. But it is a fairly step climb that can become hazardous if the road is wet. I appreciate you watching and again, thanks for the coffee! It is delicious.
      No matter what, I will always pick up after others who leave trash. It keeps nature clean and beautiful. Take care and have a good week.

    What an amazing view up there at the researching facility.
    That is a place I really wish I could be driving and camping, and you still have really warm weather you are so lucky.
    Great that you picked up trash after other, so sad that people can't bring it back home again like we others do.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The research facility is a neat place to walk around. I was hoping to walk to the other side, but I wasn't sure if a thunderstorm was going to hit. I was concerned of being struck by lighting since there was no protection and I was exposed. When I went camping we were coming off a record heat wave. The day high was in the 60s and the night cooled to the low 40s. It felt great!
      I don't know why people leave trash. It really isn't hard to pick it up and bring it home to get rid of. Thanks for watching my friend.

      Hey there man! I think you will enjoy riding out this way and never get bored with it. You can find yourself riding in the desert, mountains, plateaus, and more. New Mexico is loaded with natural beauty. I hear you on that. I am sure the weather is getting cold up there. For me to hit cold camping I will need to get into the 11,000ft range where it is freezing up there at night. In fact it'll snow a little up there in the next few days. I plan on camping at this elevation in the next month. Otherwise where I live its in the 40s in the mornings and 60s or 70s in the afternoon right now. Take care bud. Thanks for watching.

    Right on buddy great video, nice job with all the filming and editing makes it really enjoyable to watch. Those views were super up there on those mountains. Yeah I wouldn’t want to hang around on top of that weather station mountain with all that metal on the ground. I’m sure that attracts lightning. Looks like you enjoyed your overnight stay and that coffee in the morning! Thanks for taking us along my friend.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey buddy. I think that is what the metal is for as well which is to help attract lighting storms. Its an eerie feeling when there is no cover and a storm is potentially brewing. All I needed was for a random bolt of lighting to strike. I'll head back up there and check out the other side. Thanks for watching bud. It was a great trip all the way around. Take care.

    The food looked great and super classy of ATV Costa Rica to send you (and me) some coffee, I cant wait to try it in the bush. Anyways man, Hope all is well with you and the family, and the new baby is growing and healthy. Thanks for sharing my friend !

      Hey man. I appreciate it bud. I had been wanting to do narration for a while and gave it a go. I think it came out great. What I did was recorded it with my helmet out into my mic lol. Give it a try. I think that would be awesome.
      Yeah man, the views up there are super cool. There are a lot of mountain ranges and these sections of the desert in between. It really gives it a cool look to see how tall these mountains are when you are in the valley below.
      Man, ATV Costa Rica delivered a great gift. It taste great in the outdoors. I look forward to watching your next video.
      All is well. My boys are growing up quick. It crazy how time flies. My son will turn 4 this weekend and my baby boy is 6 months old already. Thanks bud. I hope all is well your way and that your family is doing great! Take care.

    It's good to see another video from you. You probably had the ultimate remote alpine campsite there. That was very good advice about riding in the mountains. I live in Kansas so I don't get to ride in the mountains very often. When I do, I always bring along rain gear, at least one extra jacket, and a dry pair of gloves.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was an incredible campsite up there. I will return to this one in the future and explore the opposite end of the facility. It was in my original plan, but I didn't feel confident because of the ominous clouds potentially producing lighting. I am glad you found my advice helpful. Mountains can be so mysterious and unforgiving. A little preparedness goes a long ways. Thanks for watching and take care. Have a nice day!

      Hey there! The research facility is a neat place to walk around and observe. They actually let you visit by appointment to watch the research they do. I will have to look into this for future reference. But the storm building made me want to get off since I was exposed to potential lighting developing in the area. You're welcome, I always tend to clean up where ever I am at. I don't talk about it, but I decided to on this one. Take care and safe travels.

    Hello good sir. How are you? It's been a busy one up here the last couple weeks. It's always a scramble getting ready for winter. Sorry for being delayed.
    You always find the best views my dude. That and mountain lion tracks. Haha.
    This is looking like as good a spot as any for buddy. Where did you get the forest service shirt? Did you get some new tires?
    My breathing felt labored and I'm at sea level. Haha.
    I like the voiceover. I have thought about doing more videos with voiceover in it.
    What headlamp you rocking here sir? Is it pretty good? Looks like it is a pretty big unit. Is the battery life pretty good?
    Great message at the tail end of this video Ruben. People don't take nature seriously. I have done it myself in the past. Always a good reminder.
    Glad to see you again friend. Good to see you avoided those mountain lions once again. See you later.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there buddy. All is well, I have been busy in-between videos haha, but that is life for us. I got the shirt off of Amazon. It's a great shirt and quality. No new tires. Breath sir lol, I am kidding. I know what you mean.
      The headlamp is a rechargeable light that I got off of Amazon as well. It works great and it's very bright. The battery life on it has been great, no complaints on it. I appreciate it bud, nature is important to take care of so we can keep these places open. I would imagine that the forest service would close things down if they see it highly trashed and abused.
      I will keep the mountain lions away, although it would be cool to spot one at a safe distance. Take care buddy.

It is a cool state loaded with some unique beauty since we are loaded with mountains, desert, plateaus, and volcanic features along with more. I still need to explore 3 more national forest. I've touched Cibola, and Santa Fe. I need to hit Carson, Lincoln, and the Gila. Plus we have BLM lands which is a hole other experience.

If so, the road that you drive up to get to the campground is the same road that will take you up to the top where the observation towers are. The road number I believe is 235. The good thing about this drive is the forest road has signs pointing you to the road up. If you need more help let me know. It’s a beautiful drive.

    That view south is amazing! The southern area of the state with all the sky islands is so stunning. This video makes me want to go camping in this beautiful fall weather.
    I’ve been looking at hiking that peak with a route that would go up and down each of those two south canyons. Unfortunately I’m not sure many have hiked that area, and water info is very hard to come by.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is super stunning in this region of the state. It is without a doubt underrated, but the seclusion is up there with some of the best if you want to get away from the crowds. Fall would be great since there are dense sections of Aspen trees. The leaves will be vibrant against the green firs up there.
      But I know what you mean. Water availability is hard to come by since there are only seasonal springs. I am not even sure if Baldy springs has water. It use to, but I don't know if its an active one these days. But to hike the route you describe would be a beautiful one no doubt. Thanks for watching. Have a great day!

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not totally sure I can answer your question. My thoughts is it comes down to state law and rules put in place. Our rule here is to have your ATV registered and to have your sticker readily available if you are stopped by the forest law officer. It’s only happen to me once in all my years of riding. New Mexico has a lot of public land we can use for off-road use. I know tax payers fund the forest services, but I guess it boils down to your state law.
