@@elpepo0 that’s what I’m thinking. She gets a new power using her eyes. Something like the ability to purge evil from bodies that could actually pull the cat out of Neo and the Grimm out of Salem

Someone said on another video that it is a helmet for Little to prevent her from getting squashed my guess is the Blacksmith is making Little bigger with armor to keep her protected❤
After having a week to mull over it, I’m fine with Neo’s fate now. As this episode established, there’s nothing left for her on Remnant anymore. Even if she survive the Cat’s possession, her role in the story is probably done. It all just happened so fast i could barely process it.
@@SailorRemnant That’s an interesting take, but I feel like it’s too late for a Neo redemption. Knowing CRWBY, it’ll be rushed the way Emerald’s was. And if that doesn’t happen and it’s written well, Neo could aid in taking down Salem before eventually leaving to figure out who she is. Her becoming a full hero? Not so much. Just a chance for Neo to discover herself and learn to find joy outside of Roman.
I really expected some type of tearful expression from Yang. Like how she had for Blake and Summer? But they just…went back to Jaune’s village and got to the tree just like that…Summer’s storytelling could’ve been just as good at the beginning of the volume so we could have more time with this chapter. Overall tho, great fighting sequence, another sarcastic comment from Weiss, and some acceptance from Jaune. Even if everything feels so fast-paced, they still did a great job. Poor Alyx tho. Guess that’s why Lewis wrote the book.
I've had the feeling that we'll see Summer be the one to help Ruby find her hope and light again, now with this episode I'm almost positive that's what is going to happen. It's why we did'nt see her in the tea party last episode, obviously Neo did'nt know her to begin with but symbolically it makes sense. No clue how it'll happen but I'm excited to see it, also I love how personal the climax of this volume is. It's all about Ruby and what happens next for her.

I wonder if she'll somehow become the summer maiden this way. I actually have a feeling the series will end with all 4 members of team RWBY having maiden powers somehow.
My two guesses based on new information from this episode: -Alyx is the Blacksmith -Jaune will “die” from that fall and return to the tree, being remade young again.
I feel like this volume/season would be the build up to the end game - Ruby finally understanding how to use her silver eyes, and the four Girls of RWBY becoming the four maidens (because let's be real they really tied to the four seasons - Weiss = winter, Yang = summer, Ruby = spring, Blake = autumn)
Is it weird that I think the blacksmith is Alex but grown up? Her wanting to make things right might have been to become the tree itself and help others on their way become a new them. This is could have happened since the cat more or less confirmed that it killed Alex and she decided to stay in that space Ruby's in.
I get the feeling. That Ruby will be herself. But more solid. There is a saying. Sometimes something needs to break before it can be fixed. I get the feeling she will come back and be like 'I AM RUBY DAUGHTER OF SUMMER. I AM A HUNTRESS!' Or at least that is what I hope. (That or they are going to plot twist the heck out of us and Summer come back in Ruby place.)
I’m going to hope that Ruby chooses to remain herself BUT With Mom’s semblance, weapon, and experience ❤ basically a hybrid Ruby with Summer’s skills inside ❤
So assuming Ruby's semblance would evolve to match this new rebirth. So expecting some molecular Manipulation or more speed based semblance. . I know sum up with Ruby Flash kinda of thing except no speed force. Then again evolve semblance can involve her silver eye abilities
I don't think that makes any sense that bc she's related to the summer maiden. can you clarify what you mean by that bc I would have thought that the summer maiden is at Vacuo just like how the other maidens is located in different kingdoms.
Actually Summer Rose just like Raven has made big contributions to the girls' lives. Yang in the beginning spent all her time looking for Raven so she could get answers and Ruby looked up to Summer Rose and Qrow. Ruby probably inspired to be like her mother which is why this volume wraps so much around Ruby and Summer.

I have the feeling she’ll come back how she is. It’ll be some kinda thing where WBY and Jaune place their hands on Ruby and speak to her through their aura using Jaune’s semblance, or that she’ll hear her friends voices through her shell and find the strength to go on and learn from her mistakes

Honestly Ruby choosing to ascend is... a perfect culmination of everything. Every single decision more or less has been decided for her. While she chose to go to Beacon, Oz extended that branch and Oz made her leader. Her being leader made her have to think of others first, and herself second. Her finding out about her eyes forced her hand to basically fight against Salem, bc Salem wasn't going to leave her alone since she's been hunting down every silver eyed warrior. Ascension is Ruby's OWN choice, it's her first choice that she's gotten to make free of everything else in life or outside influences. In therapy, with people who feel like they have no control or choice over their life, giving them choices is the best thing you can do.
So I was right about Louis Being alive and went back first...like others said...he is based on the Auther who made Alice in wonderland....so it stood to reason he would make the story on Alex....I was also right that Alex was Punished....but she Punished herself instead....dang thats harsh.....Blasted Cat.....never trust cooky Cats.....over friendly cats....maybe but perferably no.....(all are cheaters) stable cats....they are respected and loved but also feared and flipflops
I think too many people complain about the episode length to think about how deep it gets. Rwby got deep and dark before but it never got to this level of philosophical self enlightenment.

This Episode is a bit better then episode 8 and 7 but this last episode Ruby will return as herself and a lot better with her mental health and she will get her emblem back. Jaune will get his age back in last episode
considering all of those weapons glowed like that, tells me that the spirits of the previous owners, dwell within them, and there's been talk focusing on Facebook, about Summer Rose, that her mother's spirit also dwells within the Axe, and the second Ruby touches it, she'll see her mom, and her mom will tell Ruby, that she doesn't need to be like her, or the ones from the books, she can only be herself, and no one else, she needs to accept the responsibilities of being leader, to accept that she can't save everyone, to accept her failures, to accept that it's okay to hurt, to learn failure can be your greatest teacher, and to understand that she doesn't need to be THE hero, but to be A hero, these are the things Ruby has to accept, in order to move forward, to grow as a character, and to come out of that wooden statue of herself with her memories intact.
1 wierd thought.....like i said....what if Alex Became the Jabberwalker....ascension in order to find, hunt and kill the cat so that it could never accend
In some interpretation of Red Riding Hood she becomes a wolf. I think she will become a Faunus. A combination of every aspect of team RWBY. Yang's strength, Blake's compassion, and Weiss's loyalty.

The fact that Lewis was indeed the Lewis Carroll of this world and wrote about his sister, even making her look better than she was. And Jaune was right, that Alyx wasn’t a great person (was also a kid, so you know) but after talking to the tree she actually felt bad and wanted to fix things.
THANK YOU ERIC! You're a life saver when I can't watch this anywhere else!

OH I think I get it. It’s like metamorphosis. It hit me when the herbalist came out of the wood like a caccoon with wings. I like the creativeness!
But then what will Ruby become when she emerges.
@@derrickdaniels3955 hopefully still herself, with her memories intact, though her outfit might get altered, if the herbalist's appearance is any example.
that's what I've realized, the tree really is a place of rebirth, and also healing hopefully, so when Ruby has made her choice, she'll hatch out of that wooden stature of herself, with a new and improved outfit, wielding her mom's axe, and praying hoping, with her memories intact.

To be treated by fire, the rust will be chipped away and the metal reforged to platinum and shine again in acceptance. Fire doesn't necessarily mean destruction. It is life force itself.
Brilliant point!!
Purification?
Hopefully what Jaune fell into is what regresses him back to normal. Like if what he fell into is the same as the Herbalist smoke in chapter 4 and confronting his demons will cause him to ascend with a new sword and reforged armor. As for Ruby…to God I pray my baby remembers everything upon ascension. Like just her friends and family I mean, everything else she can lose I just don’t wanna see Yang have to lose her sister
I dunno, Joan of Arc burned to death... And Weiss set his shield on fire. Maybe that theory about JNPR following the deaths of the characters they were based of is true after all.
@@ijoel_jess8289 he obviously did not die by the fire
@@frostbite2179 Did you see that though? For all you know he could've fallen on top of some branches that set on fire as well or something, I don't know lmao.
I just thought it was funny how he was set on fire, just like Joan of Arc, and how the opening literally has him on fire as well.
If anyone knows what it is like to have a burden of feeling powerless, it's Jaune at this point. I think Jaune might be able to help Ruby if he joins her in that other plane.
@@ijoel_jess8289 I’m starting to think Jaune ain’t dead and isn’t going to die. The intro did show Jaune on fire but we could be looking too far into that? And when Jaune fell there was a plume of smoke, just like the smoke the Herbalist used. Jaune might have fallen into the leaves and the fire burned them
And now we come back to where Ruby's character started; "Little Red Riding Hood".
A little girl who left on a journey to do good. She was perused by a cunning wolf who tricked her, lead her astray, imitated the people she loved, and swallowed her whole. In the end, she was saved by a braved Wood Cutter.
The time has come for Ruby to step out of the role of the naïve young girl. She knows the wolf now, and its tricks. She knows its dangerous nature and what must be done. And thus, Ruby is now the Wood Cutter.
God I'm really hoping we get a longer finale this volume. These short episodes are killing me.
Imagine if they kept the video's length from volume1.. 💀
@@dailydosesfoanime Don’t put that nightmare on me lmao
Getting major volume 1 flashbacks with these short episodes
Apparently one of the head writers confirmed that the finale is the longest episode of the volume.
@@omegashark1837 Superb if true, it absolutely needed to be. Honestly I wouldn’t have minded if this episode was just part of the finale as well rather than an underwhelming in-between.
This is exciting. I cannot wait for the final episode.
Seriously, I really can't. This season has been fire, lately. And I'd like to know how it all ends, next week.
Yeah but they NEED to make the final episode 25+ minutes
There is a huge bonus to this episode being so short... If the season runtime that was talked about is accurate. This last episode should be over 25 minutes at the very least. Next week is gonna be intense. :)
Yeah, but they're including those super long ending credits to the run time, so it will be shorter than usual volume finale anyway
@@NobodyImportant5023 Even if it was only 25 minutes.... It would still be the third longest finale of the series. But its more likely to be even longer than that.
I need to say this. WE! NEED! 4! THINGS!!!
1 Ruby comes back with her memories and possibly a new power to “F” up Neo(I originally wanted Neo to be saved and redeemed but whatever happens happens)
2 Jaune is resolved for real. And that’s a near close guess to what’s going to happen since he fell with the fire on his shield burning the leaves
3 Red! Like! Roses! 3!!! Hopefully Ruby has it while fighting that cat
4 And listen to me hear, TWENTY. FIVE. MINUTE. FINALE! If we just have 15 minutes we’ll never get all of it resolved.
We haven't seen her silver eyed powers this volume, maybe she gets an upgrade on that and can hurt other beings other than Grimm with it?
@@elpepo0 that’s what I’m thinking. She gets a new power using her eyes. Something like the ability to purge evil from bodies that could actually pull the cat out of Neo and the Grimm out of Salem
if the cat's using neos semblance, neos aura, then that means her soul is definitely still present
I'm just noticing, when Ruby first talked to the blacksmith, she was making a wing. It was for Herve the whole time💀. Now she's making a skull. Who could that be for?
Little, it's a mouse's skull but BIG now
Someone said on another video that it is a helmet for Little to prevent her from getting squashed my guess is the Blacksmith is making Little bigger with armor to keep her protected❤
@@Jassiij27 that's right. I forgot Little got squished
After having a week to mull over it, I’m fine with Neo’s fate now. As this episode established, there’s nothing left for her on Remnant anymore. Even if she survive the Cat’s possession, her role in the story is probably done.
It all just happened so fast i could barely process it.
I'm wondering if the reveal about Alix regretting and wanting to fix her bad choices foreshadows Neo making a similar decision in the near future.
I'll be real. I've never been more angry at a cliffhanger than this episode

The blacksmith being Alyx was a plot twist i didn’t see coming
@@ozlight1607 The headband the blacksmith wears is Alyx’s bow. She has dreadlocks the same color as Alyx’s skirt. She has the tree branch growing on her back and most importantly, she likes to fix what’s broken. Just like Alyx.
I think what the blacksmith meant when she said "leaving Ruby behind" I think she meant leaving her old self that she's been holding onto behind, I think that's what she meant.
I just wanna say
Summer is so fucking beautiful 🥺🥺
Did you know, the author's name of the original Alice in Wonderland was _Lewis_ Carroll? Asking cos you seem surprised that Lewis was the one to have written the story of Alyx.
in the end rwby was never ment to have the scythe as her main weapon, as the hunter of little riding story, main weapon was always ment to be an axe
14:45 Is that a slow version of Red like Roses? It sounds like it in the beginning and I kind of lose track of it shortly afterwards. I can't tell if it is for a lack of remembrance, or more for the change that Ruby may undergo.
The blacksmith was working on the herbalists wings last time we saw her, i wonder if the mask she's crafting in this episode is for little?
So, some theories I have from this episode are:
The ever after is the in between for heaven and hell.
The Cheshire cat is the hell type brother or creation of him and the tree is the heaven brother or creation of him from Oz's story.
Alyx wanted to fix everything she broke???? Yall remember what the Jabberwalker was saying?
My immediate thought was that Ruby is going to "become" Summer and I really hoping I'm way off-base because that would be an absolute batshit writing choice lmao
It's nice to see Summer's actual design though, she looks great. I desperately hope the next episode is way longer, like almost a half-hour at least. These episodes have been so short and another short episode would just feel so damn rushed. Not sure what CRWBY was thinking with these episode runtimes.

I wonder if she'll somehow become the summer maiden this way. I actually have a feeling the series will end with all 4 members of team RWBY having maiden powers somehow.
6:19 Can't just let Jaune and Weiss have a romantic moment. (Just kidding. Romance wasn't needed there.)
My two guesses based on new information from this episode:
-Alyx is the Blacksmith
-Jaune will “die” from that fall and return to the tree, being remade young again.
And I will put you in the ground is the most Goro Akechi thing Robbie Daymond could have said.
Yay white knight! ❤ the blacksmith has a really great design. I thought the fight scenes were too rushed but I did like the episode
True 😅
Is it weird that I think the blacksmith is Alex but grown up? Her wanting to make things right might have been to become the tree itself and help others on their way become a new them. This is could have happened since the cat more or less confirmed that it killed Alex and she decided to stay in that space Ruby's in.
Oh it's def her. Someone pointed out they both have the blue hair ribbon bandana
(That or they are going to plot twist the heck out of us and Summer come back in Ruby place.)
does this mean that ruby is choosing to be how she viewed her mother?
robbie is literally my favourite VA of all time he kills it when it comes to maniacal laughter
Summer's weapon is an axe, scythe, and a hunting rifle/scout rifle
I’m going to hope that Ruby chooses to remain herself BUT With Mom’s semblance, weapon, and experience ❤ basically a hybrid Ruby with Summer’s skills inside ❤
The body movement of the neo cat is satisfying to watch
A big bad monster, a huntress with an axe, and a girl with a red hood....
So assuming Ruby's semblance would evolve to match this new rebirth. So expecting some molecular Manipulation or more speed based semblance. . I know sum up with Ruby Flash kinda of thing except no speed force. Then again evolve semblance can involve her silver eye abilities
Silver petal burst? Turn into petals that turn Grimm into stone on contact
Oh, when the blacksmith first showed up she was working on Herbs wings
I cant wait for the finale I’m so ready oh and hey today is my 19th birthday
NEXT WEEK IS GONNA BE FIRE!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think the reason for the very large focus on Summer Rose this volume is because she's probably related to the Summer maiden somehow
I don't think that makes any sense that bc she's related to the summer maiden. can you clarify what you mean by that bc I would have thought that the summer maiden is at Vacuo just like how the other maidens is located in different kingdoms.
@@l0ki_lux947 Well, that was only how it was supposed to be. But the Spring maiden was also not someone in Haven anymore but was transferred to Raven.
1 hour finale would be everything! The volume is short so I hope so
Wait a gosh darn minute!! So Ruby is going to come back stronger than before than erased completely…that means Neos plan to kill her with tea from the tree was never going to work which in turn will lead to Salems and Cinders downfall! You know it’s funny if it wasn’t so pathetic of Neo…oh what the heck I’ll laugh anyway! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha😂
I mean we see her still herself in the intro with the others on the tree when they are escaping so she is still herself and that's good.
Which means this whole volume was for nothing if Ruby isn't going to lose something permanently. What a waste.
@@rebelfighter5249 We don't want her to change she is fine as who she is okay but she will get an upgrade in her outfit and powers and weapon.
I wonder what would happen if Salem was in the ever after and drank the tea, since it technically doesn't kill. I wonder if that will be her fate.
@@rebelfighter5249someone didn't understand the purpose of this volume then. It was never about loss, that's volume 3.

It’s kinda sombering seeing how ruby was a weapon nerd in the first volume but now she see’s all these great weapons from other people and she just feels the heavy weight
I wonder if Ruby.... or who ever she is now, is going to have the same voice now that she ascended...
I have the feeling she’ll come back how she is. It’ll be some kinda thing where WBY and Jaune place their hands on Ruby and speak to her through their aura using Jaune’s semblance, or that she’ll hear her friends voices through her shell and find the strength to go on and learn from her mistakes

I just realised that we haven't seen Little this episode and if it's true that he also ascended with Ruby I think in the finale he'll come back and remind her if he hasn't forgotten his memories(?) Maybe they're good nature will remind Ruby of who she is even if Little doesn't remember her. I'm kinda curious what will happen to Jaune and Neo.
Little wasn't in this episode? You might want to take a look at what the Blacksmith is working on when Ruby got to them.
You know, if Neo doesn't have any attachments to Remnant anymore, then I believe that in the Finale they will defeat The Cat and Neo and they'll both Ascend with Neo staying and becoming the Ever After version of the Mad Hatter.
Summer and Ruby have one thing in common, they try to shoulder everything alone. Where the others rely on each other. She needs to relearn to rely on support as a team. Basically: there is no i in team.
Personally, I think the mask the Blacksmith was working on was from Little.
I think the cat was wrong neo dose have a reason to go back to remnant anf tagta to probably beat the crap out of cinder( but neo will have to understand why she NEEDS to go back) as for why the fuzed cat with neo can't go through...................... It (maybe) has to always be curious because it's the cat purpose, like the one line always goes " curiosity killed the cat"
Yeah this is the best season of Rwby 👍
The only thing from the trailers we've yet to hear is "you were never the hero," which sounds like it was said by Summer now and something about shedding ruby rose "like an old coat," which was probably said by the blacksmith. Im curious to see how this volume ends. I've greatly enjoyed the volume. They say curiosity killed the cat ,right?
i really want the ruby we want to stay but... thinking about it... AND I HOPE NOT.. but maybe the reason yang and blake maybe finally got together in that one episode... and found eachother wasent just fan service.. it did kinda feel off in that hole episode and those 2 were off doin their own thing..
What if it was maybe setting up the fact yang has to now live without ruby she is alive but dosent know who yang is.. setting yang and blake up to lean on eachother even more..
I like the idea but fuck me will it make me fukin cry..
Another thing.. ive been thinking maybe jaune will Ascent where ruby might refuse and finally just suck it up and be the brave hero she always was. but jaune to get rid of the trauma to fix his sword and maybe even "down age" him again to become insted of the rusted knight the white knight? maybe getting a shield or spear from the blacksmith to give it that little pyrra touch. but him not knowing what it is but knowing it means alot to him.
That thing with jaune was just a dreamin theory. but it just weirds me out that the fact jaune is so old compared to his friends.. its another take but damn.. give jaune a break lost pyrra killed penny
If he isent the one to off or beat cinder at full maiden power with a acension from the ever after we are gonna have a problem "the team at rwby headquarters" xDD
honesty id agree but id hate the idea of ruby forgetting yang, maybe if they had a worse relationship where both dislike each other then sure, then yang is like "i never wanted this" and thats why she leans on blake that would be better in my opinon.
@@demogame7630 thats the point this volume has been so painful already yang and blakes moment was about fucking time xD but so out of nowhere.. so yangs and blakes realtionship will be so much more important for her if it where to happen.. After thinking about it when i thought about if jaune where to ascent insted of ruby should ruby refuse. cause i bit onto the fact you "Cant" return if you have no purpose.. meaning dont quote me on this but if ruby ascents and loses who she was she might not be able to return.. but as is right now would he even be able to either? pyrra is dead going back means back to "depending if time moved slower while they were gone" back to where he killed penny took a life..
But if he were to ascent his wish is to protect so he would prolly be given a purpose in his world? idunno i just thought about it :o
EDIT: Actually Neo might even ascent to get a new purpose? :OOOOOOO
but im certain either ALL will leave with neo in tow or a few 2 might stay.. would make sence if they went back to have neo since Cinder is the ONLY reason neo would ever return They have to unite the world.. and stop the fighting. thats the goal.. unless rwby take a note from AOT and give us a sad ass fucking ending witch i think is also very possible.. they beat salem but gods still deem them unworthy and then they are all reborn as a new project idk.
Think i got it all out haha sry for that long reply xDD

But also, pause it between 10:27 and 10:28 and goddamn,, I'd also possess Neo if I was the Cat
The paper pleasers ascending and becoming the genial gems tugged at my heart bro. 🥹
After studying summers weapons i have to say I'm impressed
But jaune. Is he alright or will he be reborn?
might be reborn
Jaune ->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ruby in every aspects (from real traumas to character development) , lol.
This Episode is a bit better then episode 8 and 7 but this last episode Ruby will return as herself and a lot better with her mental health and she will get her emblem back. Jaune will get his age back in last episode
The smithy was hiding a mouse shape mask, meaning that is was little that she was working on
considering all of those weapons glowed like that, tells me that the spirits of the previous owners, dwell within them, and there's been talk focusing on Facebook, about Summer Rose, that her mother's spirit also dwells within the Axe, and the second Ruby touches it, she'll see her mom, and her mom will tell Ruby, that she doesn't need to be like her, or the ones from the books, she can only be herself, and no one else, she needs to accept the responsibilities of being leader, to accept that she can't save everyone, to accept her failures, to accept that it's okay to hurt, to learn failure can be your greatest teacher, and to understand that she doesn't need to be THE hero, but to be A hero, these are the things Ruby has to accept, in order to move forward, to grow as a character, and to come out of that wooden statue of herself with her memories intact.
1 wierd thought.....like i said....what if Alex Became the Jabberwalker....ascension in order to find, hunt and kill the cat so that it could never accend
Yep. Right where my head is at. Especially after seeing the Blacksmith making another mask.
So, Summer's Weapon was an axe? I had that question held up in my mind all the time and now this is it
We should be long dead by he amount of times this volume leaves you hanging on a cliff
I really hope Neo lives and chooses to walk along side of Ruby. Otherwise, I'll be very disappointed especially if she get's killed off
The one thing I don't want is for Ruby to become Summer. Maybe the essence of her but Ruby needs to be herself.
I think the blacksmith is Alyx!
AHH THIS EPISODE WAS TOO SHORT, I NEED THE NEXT ONE RIGHT NOW
In some interpretation of Red Riding Hood she becomes a wolf. I think she will become a Faunus. A combination of every aspect of team RWBY. Yang's strength, Blake's compassion, and Weiss's loyalty.
Dont tell me Ruby gonna become her own mom 😂😂😂
