I absolutely love everything Phantex makes. I have their Lux 2 and an old 300 series for my sim racing and gaming PCs. As well as another 4 cases in my collection
Just checked it at the website I normally order from, and the price was actually not that bad. It looks really nice, and I might actually get this to build in :D
Great video! Love that Jay is covering Phanteks again. Always one of my favorite brand that doesn't get enough attention with all their cool looking designs. Bought the G400A recently at microcenter, should have waited for this 😮💨. Those fans with the screw covers like the D30 is 🔥
Thank you for accidentally tripping the power button with the top plate. XD That's actually helpful to keep in mind. I appreciate the whole "build" video and adding to the nuances you run across while building. We forget how much nuance there is to building PC's. The top mount power button, mounting of the radiator, and CPU block placement, lol. Fun video. I went utility stealth with the Corsair 5000D (af) bc there wasn't anything that appealed to me like this. I would have gotten this instead and this may be my next case. However much I like it, I have some criticisms, like the permanent way the top filter was attached. Cutting that out would be the first thing I even do. The top tray should be reversible. The power button and top plate could have been better thought out. But if it performs at least reasonably, I'll put up with it to have that case. 140 isn't enough to turn me away, and I think is actually a reasonable price. Edit: Thank you, Jay, Phill, and Nic!! Love you guys!!
Ive built two water-cooled rigs with three 360 rads in the enthoo pro 2 and the NV7. I love Phanteks because when ive had issues with cable routing or an overall lack of space in other cases, i dont run into that problem with a Phanteks case. They are really the sleeper case company.
This case is pretty damn good looking and I agree that I'd rather have those vents on the top be straight, though I love that plate on the bottom especially if I wanted to place the PC on a carpeted floor. Also, I appreciate Jay showing more of the build process and had a thought watching this: It'd be nice if a place like say Microcenter (which can do custom builds for you) had a build-along setup/service, where you and their tech build it together, so for those out there that maybe haven't built a system in a while and might be intimidated by some of the more modern setups or maybe if it's just somebody that wants to learn by doing (maybe it's your first build and you don't wanna screw it up or something). I've not built a setup in a while myself but I feel I could figure it out all the same, but I think it'd be awesome to have that option as well.
I don’t know why they removed the contrasting colour scheme they had at Computex; it’s one of the main reasons it looked so good. I hope they add it back.
This case is really cool actually! I have already locked myself into my current case, having bought custom length cables from cablemod for my build. I actually ordered these fans (2x360mm sets, one reverse, and a 120mm for the rear) not too long ago. They were fairly simple to install and the pre-connected nature of them made it really nice and simple! It is a great value for fans with fully addressable RGB, infinity mirror centers, that are daisy chainable :o The software is pretty easy to use too. It may not have a ton of options for lighting patterns, not like some other options, but they look fantastic and are affordable. I can't argue with that! My only complaint was that the hub was not as easy to find and buy, it didn't come with the fans, or at least I didn't find a pack with the hub included when I bought them...
DAMN! This case is actually affordable and there are bundles with a hub and fans. All variations are between 150 and 200 USD and in stock on the Phanteks web store. When this was previewed at CES last year I expected about 100 USD higher.
I think a huge determining factor in what people consider "good value" is what kind of PC they are building. There are people that are just going to put together the best components they can afford and just fire it up. They are only worried about airflow and function. This case is for people that are adding the form and aesthetics of their build and want it to look good also. When more than one glass panel is part of a case that will allow a better view of custom cooling and lighting the price is obviously going to go up. Plus, the case needs to be built better since where there are glass panels there will be less structural material. As we all know, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) to make a box, make sure it has ventilation, and even have 1 side of glass than it is to engineer the same box with multiple glass panels and still keep the airflow and build quality in the mix. People building PCs that are nice to look at put more value into a nice looking case and accept that it will cost more.
Hated it when looking at case videos and they just showed the case, accesories and back in to the box, full build is a lot better, even for entertainment purposes, it's nice to see the perks and quirks every company has to offer
I think there's a pretty simple fix for the tubing direction problem. Provided that there's material for it, the top mount fan bracket could have another hold-down screw hole added to the opposite side of the bracket. That way they don't have to change the bracket cut, you can just turn the bracket the other way for the tubes to be in the front of the case. At least that makes sense in my head at a glance?
I like the bottom platform addition. My usual workaround would be to go to HD or Lowe's, pick a couple of tile pieces that would work with the carpet color, and just lay them down and put the pc on top of that. Aesthetically, it looked good, but having it included like this looks much cleaner. And the tile always took up more floorspace than needed, whereas this is only as big as the case itself. Would like to see some more of this design amongst the case manufacturers. Thanks for the tour Jay.
I got the evolv x a few years ago knowing full and well what the airflow issues were simply because it looked so good. The evolv x2 looks amazing and just like the original it has its quirks. Ever since I got the evolv x I have only used phanteks cases and I probably won’t change that but I don’t see myself doing a full case swap for this new one. Lucky for me I have a friend looking at getting a new pc and I always build his pcs for him so I’ll probably get a chance to build in this soon.
@@Jayztwocents my bad. Thought it was as i only remember seeing phil and nick in the videos so i figured that nick was filming meaning that would be phil.
What I like here (as an RGB hater...) is that the RGB bling bling is so subtle through the tinted glass, it doesn't shine in your face! I know this is a video sponsored by Phantaks but...Jay, could you test whether an Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB AIO fits up there because of its thicker radiator? In other words, whether the top cover can be put back on without any problems. I think THAT would be an important answer for a lot of buyers of this case...
Thermaltake The Tower 600 is under $170.00 and has a wide range of building ease baked in. Has optional orientation stand kits available in the same multitude of colors as the case.Only bringing it up because I just built in one and it was extremely simple and it has lots of goodies built in at the price range of this case.
With an updraft/chimney fan layout i wiukd love to see how the new blowthrough GPUs fare. Though im sad the more floaty mobo plate from the prototype did not make it to the final form.
It's a pretty case for sure, with that build! And I think that $149 is highly reasonable considering the amount of glass, and that glass cut. Not for me, but it's a nice looking case!
I honestly love the look of this case, will be interesting to see what people think of it, temperature testing and such wise... Maybe its finally time to upgrade everything all at once... New case, new parts, whole new setup.... hm....
I really like the design of this case. For me, my Phanteks experience so far is only with the Eclipse P300, which is a great case, but TINY and a real hassle to work in. I had to replace my water-cooled 1080ti (because the Corsair AIO pump failed and the bearing on the NZXT bracket finally gave up - the 1080ti card is still undefeated) and I was lucky that my brother's old RX Vega 56 was still around, even luckier that it barely fit in the case with about 7/8" of clearance. Anyway, this case is tall and gorgeous with a lot of QOL features that I want to see in a case. The fact that it supports back-connect is perfect because I definitely want it for my next build. I especially love the recessed I/O section in the back, it's consistent with the philosophy of BTF/P-Zero and helps me with my biggest cable management problem; the spaghetti nightmare behind the case that you can never fully hide. It's really refreshing to see a case with glass panels that isn't another copycat of the O11.
Cool case. Really interesting ro see what's currently available. I'm rocking the same big case for probably 15 years now. I got so fed up when i needed to buy a new case because my new gpu didn't fit, that i bought one of the biggest cases available. 😂
$149 does not sound bad, is a big case look easy to work on it, and the coffee maker plus look great, i pay $50 for a antec 300 so $150 for this case give you possibilities to build on and expand.
Still prefer my original Evolv X (the one with the wider airflow front panels). It's just one of the most well built cases ever made. It holds a special place in my heart. Big chonkin' solid aluminum panels, huge tempered glass sides. I machined some vertex pattern vent designs in the front panel and then cerakoted every panel in anthracite gray. I also removed those terrible plastic sliders from the motherboard tray and covered that whole portion to the right of the motherboard with a big chunk of black cutting board material (HDPE). It's on stand-off's so there's room for the cables to come in from behind it.
I think the almost floating component look works well in this case. I wonder what it would take to modify the top to fit a Lian Li Hydroshift AIO. It would need a cutout to allow for the hoses to run along the inner side of the rad, but would make the floating aesthetic even more convincing by not having hoses hanging out in front.
$149 is not too bad. I'd definitely consider it for the build that I'm making this year to replace my MSI GE76 Raider laptop. I'm going all out with an AMD 9800X3D and RTX 5090 this time, so I want it to look good, while having good airflow.
28:21 ( *camera panning down the side of the case* ) "Even at 900 RPM you can see, look it's levitating the blue towel. I know this is very non scient, there it goes! It's very non scientific but my point is I can still feel the cushion of air at low RPM so you don't have to put these fans to full speed." ( *Video continues and there's never a blue towel shown during this.* ) Not really a complaint, just an observation of a funny sequence in the video. Don't know if it was just a cutting mistake or if they only had one camera filming while Jays was talking here. But the blue towel was shown a few minutes earlier at 26:38. So there was video of Jay showing how much air the fans moved.
I like the full build style video. This is what’s relevant to me. How it is actually building in it.

In other words, whether the top cover can be put back on without any problems. I think THAT would be an important answer for a lot of buyers of this case...
Love Phil, but thank you. 11:02
I appreciate this. 11:13
That's going into my wishlist, thank you for the video
It's a nice case. I like seeing some variety of design and this does it well.
Thermaltake The Tower 600 is under $170.00 and has a wide range of building ease baked in. Has optional orientation stand kits available in the same multitude of colors as the case.Only bringing it up because I just built in one and it was extremely simple and it has lots of goodies built in at the price range of this case.
i really like the way it looks with no glass
I felt frustrated with the AIO stuff and I wasn't even building in the thing. Thanks for showing all of that.
Nic playing in the back. 😅 Game on!
Love my evolv. Excited to see this one
Phanteks rocks! IMHO these are the most thoughtful cases out there. Just a joy to work them through. It all just makes sense!
I like this case! I agree about the glass. Leave it off and get the ultimate in airflow!
The RGB on it looks nice. Just enough that it's there, but not so much that it lights up an entire room.
Definitely looks awesome as an open-air style.
@5:40 Corsair did a solid on that with Carbide 500R (I own that case since 2012/13), still holds a working DDR2 build.
I honestly love the look of this case, will be interesting to see what people think of it, temperature testing and such wise... Maybe its finally time to upgrade everything all at once... New case, new parts, whole new setup.... hm....
That's a big boy I like it , very nice high five.
Love the raised base, definitely getting :)
Nic benchmarking the 5000 series in the background :D
i liked that bronze/black case color combo they had at ces 24. might have to keep this in mind for my next case.
Cool case. Really interesting ro see what's currently available.
I'm rocking the same big case for probably 15 years now. I got so fed up when i needed to buy a new case because my new gpu didn't fit, that i bought one of the biggest cases available. 😂
We need more cases with recessed fans.
Loving the new case. but those M25 Gen2 fans 😍
21:00 , not an issue tbh. Noone should use AMD with 4dimms anyways. and slots 2 and 4 is where usually the dual channel ram for Ryzen goes :p
Phanteks did a really great job
I think the almost floating component look works well in this case. I wonder what it would take to modify the top to fit a Lian Li Hydroshift AIO. It would need a cutout to allow for the hoses to run along the inner side of the rad, but would make the floating aesthetic even more convincing by not having hoses hanging out in front.
11:11 “If it just goes in, great. If it doesn’t, we’ll talk about it.”
That’s what she said.
I like the looks of the case.
Depending on the thermals thats a really nice setup
Ngl i really like that one, i am not really a fan of small cases or very large one but this case feels just fit, not sure how to describe it
lookin' good in that white hoodie Jay!
Yes that’s a beautiful case. Hopefully can get to a point where I can build in one this year the current PC is starting to show its age
You don’t seem too enthusiastic about this case. I think it looks great!
Clearance , Clarence
Nick running out of the screen was quite hilarious LMAO
Great feedback on the radiator mount
Minor error correction @10:27min. It should be: 380mm L x 178mm W
It's very non scientific but my point is I can still feel the cushion of air at low RPM so you don't have to put these fans to full speed." ( *Video continues and there's never a blue towel shown during this.* )
Not really a complaint, just an observation of a funny sequence in the video. Don't know if it was just a cutting mistake or if they only had one camera filming while Jays was talking here. But the blue towel was shown a few minutes earlier at 26:38. So there was video of Jay showing how much air the fans moved.
Looks pretty good. I guess the only minus is that you can't rotate the pump on the AIO
Looks cool as an open air bench.
