It was pumping gas after the second ether spray. It's amazing how resilient these engines are. I left one sitting in the weather without a plug or carb in it for five years. I pulled it out, put a carb and plug in it, did a valve adjustment, and changed the oil, and it fired right up. You would never even know it sat. It's hard to kill most of these engines if you half ass take care of them. The mower I am talking about in this comment is in very similar condition to this one. Though I built this particular mower from my parts stash, the majority of the body parts came from a mower that threw a rod when it was three years old. The engine has more hours on it, but the majority of the body of the mower is in near mint condition. It is a factory correct 2013 model, but the mower that most of the parts came from have never been stored outdoors, so the mower almost looks brand new.
An engine swap was one of the first repair jobs that I ever did on a small engine application. I was shocked at how easy it was. It is amazing to me that more people don't do this type of stuff on their own.
I've never owned a Briggs two cylinder. I have a couple of Kohler two cylinders right now, but I really want to come across one of these just to gain the experience.
cant hear ya when you look away, now that your full time a mic would be nice and help you keep subscribers , i stay subbed but honestly its very trying and hard to finish the videos anyway just a little constructive criticism thanks for your videos and God bless
Are you going to leave the Craftsman engine cover on it? If I were purchasing a used mower, I would hesitate to pay $900 for a Husqvarna mower with an engine that says it belongs to a Craftsman.
Usually these engines' lives are cut short because either the oil filter is not screwed on all the way or the drain plug will loosen itself up. I think this was the original engine on this one unlike the one I previously worked on.
Don't want to sound like a jerk, but you should have left the mower deck and pine needles outside; your not working on it, and it is only 6 clips. More room to work on engine removal.

I agree and it’s why I hardly ever finish watching his videos 😢😢😮
How can you tell that it is only running on one cylinder?
That's sad that a person managed to blow the engine up in only 300 hours. smh That takes talent.
I don't think the oil filter was very tight and it leaked it all out there.

Mower may have 300 hours but who knows how many hours are on the engine.

On these, dropping the front clip and raising up the front of the mower is just as fast. Many times I do remove the deck though.
Just do what ever is easiest for you
Your doing the work not me, I drop deck to inspect it 😮
I’m hard hearing old diesel mechanic and wish you would get better at looking at us while talking
It comes and goes 😢😢😢
