I appreciate that you stay physically fit. So many American firearms instructors look obese. I think they lose credibility when their craft requires such high commitment to excellence and safety, but they have no personal or physical discipline. So, great job with your professionalism, Lenny, in all areas; knowledge, training, communication form, and performance.

In Marine Corps boot camp back in 1969 (through MCRD right there in San Diego), when we went to the rifle range for 2 weeks, we spent the whole first week in classes and snapping-in. We spent hours dry-firing at a barrel in a circle with small white dots painted on it....learning how get set up, sight, and squeeze the trigger.Dry-firing really works. I do it now at different distances...mostly 7-8 paces, and up to 15 yards. It's crazy how point-and-shoot -looking at the target with a good stance puts the rounds into a 7" or 9" circle. Lenny is a really good teacher...very thorough and humble. Thanks, Lenny.

G19 gen 5 Is new I believe and get Mos for sights as they help me with iron sights...... Holosun’s reflex doesn’t help as it does everything except lock onto the targets forehead. I love 3 choices on rifle/sdp version and 507c or k maybe both idk if you go to Amazon they’ll let you know if it has 3 or just red dot. Very nice screen super affordable and I have owned all of them I think anyways. There are so many things to learn and really really listen to these guys. You will get too cocky and put a nice hole in the wall. My first had 5 over 3 years, but I was obsessed, work for myself and make a very good living, but one year I spent 250,000 in guns. I had almost every Taran tactical John Wick; being a big time liter, the non carry ones had 2.5 lbs force TP n I’d touch it when I was tired n forgot to do my hardcore safety check n wanted to perfect the “key look” stare at front sight instead of anything else. Well just like driving don’t handle them tired. It’s difficult because I love them like my honeybadger or STI’s. I do like a 4.5 more being somewhat fit. I’d say same for carry but I expect those to be loaded and 24/7 unless they are taken apart being cleaned. Dry fire training is important just be crazy careful and only once I had a freak accident with no clip and 10 checks one dry fire into a soft old object just in case. I just act like everything is loaded when they aren’t

It’s an addictive thing. Soon you’ll want something different after getting good enough to have complaints or desires/preferences. A gun is not a gun is not a gun. I would suggest finding something comfortable in your hands, and a manual safety if you don’t feel comfortable without having one, like a Glock. With Glock, if you pull the trigger it fires if it’s loaded ALWAYS. There’s grip safeties, trigger safeties, lever safeties, hammers wth double action. Hold as many as you can before choosing. 9mm gives you more rounds and doesn’t kick as much as 40sw or 10mm, but I wouldn’t go up against a bear with 9mm. Advice rant complete, level up!

As someone who does not own a real firearm What do you think of training with an air soft gun? High quality gas blowback airsoft pistols have a realistic rack and cycle function. They also can shoot with great accuracy at 50 feet or more. The same dry fire practice as a real firearm can be performed with an airsoft gun. If you are interested to see what gas blow back airsoft pistols are and how they perform check some videos out on TH-cam to get an idea of how they work. I appreciate anyone’s feedback. This a cool video and I think I can use this example to practice close quarters airsoft gameplay.

First and foremost, Thanks Lenny for the very informative videos. You have a very professional demeanor and break everything down so everyone can understand which is much appreciated.
I do, however, question this video. Yes, it helps you practice drawing a weapon and the squeeze of the trigger, but it can't replicate the gun movement when you pop off an actual round. Dry firing definitely needs to be augmented by actual range time so the shooter can get used to the sound and movement of the weapon.

In your house is one thing, but a ND in an apartment is another beast entirely lol. I can’t even imagine firing a pistol in my apartment on accident. That’s about as bad as things can get. That’s why I’m Mr OSHA when dry firing. Live ammunition cannot be in the same room, is one rule I have, beyond checking the firearm every single time.
And YES, geez, having to reset the trigger when dry firing is horrendous. Either you dry fire with an airsoft, or you use something like this I suppose.

This is good and all...but I would just by a UV chromic paper. If you hit it with a laser, it changes color in the spot you hit it temporarily. This helps you better see where you hit. The paper is inexpensive and reusable usually several hundred times. Either that or I would use actual paper and an airsoft gun.
