      To be fair, drugs also make you Mr. X from Resident Evil 3 irl. Its a well known fact among law enforcement that some drug junkies can take ridiculous amounts of punishment before going down. Literally dozens of bullets; you could empty your entire magazine plus the one in the chamber into them and they'd shrug it off like Senator Armstrong's nanomachines.
      And there was even an incident where a cop tried to stop a guy who wasn't even high, and the perp managed to tank nearly three magazines' worth of bullets before collapsing. He basically pulled a Machias S-Craft on him and he survived. And even then he was still breathing and only died at the hospital. Imagine if that guy was high, he would have literally been a boss fight. That incident was so insane that the cop now carries 180 rounds.
      Also, one of the big reasons the US military adopted .45 ACP was because their older pistol cartridges didn't do shit against the Moro during their rebellion in the Philippines, because they were on drugs. Not even barbed wire could stop them, they literally just ran through it and shrugged off the pain of being cut.

    You can almost feel how much more confident Osaki is with his electric guitar sound in this track compared to Zero, he shows off quite the variety of techniques here and doesn't try to "bury" it underneath other instruments. I love how both he and Momiyama improved their guitar VST skills over the course of their Falcom career, it's really nice to see composers evolve over time, even through a period as short as one year.

      Her S craft remains one of my favorites in the series because of just how visceral and brutal it is. In a series full of sympathetic and complicated characters, I’ve come to appreciate just how so simplistically violent and impulsive Shirley is.
      Spoilers for CSIV below:
      It also helps that she constantly taunts and calls out Cedric as the entitled child that he is.

    • @Panchito2696

      @@Resener1 oh yeah, definitely! Although I myself prefer the unhinged Bloody Shirley of Ao, she really grew as a person in her own way after being soundly defeated by Yin and the SSS, taking Cedric as sort of a little brother who she gives tons of tough love.
      As for her s-craft my first reaction was moreless like this...
      "Oh, she's just emptying the full magazine on us doesnt look too bad- wait where did that flamethrower come from- OH AIDIOS NOT THE CHAINSA- *is left speechless with everyone mutilated apart and their blood spraying like a geyser*

    As awesome as this boss battle theme is, the way the developers used this theme was the *WORST/MOST DISAPPOINTING* thing I have ever seen compared to other "Trails" games. To be more specific (spoilers ahead), this theme first plays against *demonized Wald* in the forest (which is a PERFECT boss battle theme for him in that state), but you know what is sad about that particular moment? *That boss battle abruptly/immediately ends* as soon as you deal *25% of his health* (which I managed to do VERY easily in the first few turns) and therefore you *DON'T get to enjoy this boss theme AT ALL* in that particular fight (which is a *BAD design decision* for the *debut* of an awesome intense boss battle as this one). And to make matters worse, this boss theme does *NOT* even play when you face demonized Wald in the final confrontation at the end of the game! (Truly what a waste of such a great theme due to *poor handling* by the developers)

    • @semblance6433
      @semblance6433 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      [Spoilers]
      While I do agree that I would've liked to hear this theme used a bit more, our first scuffle against Wald was designed to end abruptly like that to emphasize just how strong Wald is compared to us at that point, which makes perfect sense (even if you, as the player, might not have struggled all too much). Sure, it wasn't the best first showing of 'Destruction Impulse', but the point is that the fight itself made sense in the context of conveying the power gap. And, as for your final fight against Wald, the game was kind of riding on this high all throughout the final dungeon; the cards were stacked in your favor, and you weren't going to lose. Not before rescuing KeA. So, the theme that was played, 'Inevitable Struggle', was used specifically to convey the SSS's unshakeable determination and tenacity at that moment in time; this was OUR theme, OUR moment where we finally, definitively triumphed over the enemies that have been giving us so much trouble throughout the entire game up until now, so I personally see why they opted out of using such a menacing and ferocious theme like 'Destruction Impulse' for that battle in favor of a more motivating and triumphant track. Naturally, the same applies to your final fights against Shirley and Arios (the latter of which uses 'Get Over The Barrier!', and while it might not be the same song, it still emulates that same feeling).
      Now, if we want to talk about real disappointments, the fact that 'Destruction Impulse' wasn't used more often against the Red Constellation members, and especially for the War Ogre, Sigmund Orlando's, timed boss fight, is such a missed opportunity. More so than Wald, the game essentially establishes it as the Red Constellation's theme, what with it being used against Bloody Shirley at the end of Chapter 3, against a small group of the aforementioned jaeger corps a little ways into the Final Chapter, as well as against Jaeger Gareth on the road to Mainz. And yet, they didn't think to use it even ONCE against Sigmund, nor for the several small skirmishes with the Red Constellation during Elie's rescue operation in the Final Chapter. Now THAT I just don't get.
