Only Loewe and Cassius would be worthy of using this song as their battle themes. It was a blast fighting to this music. I'm glad it only shows up once per game, as that makes it more special than all the other battle themes.
I thought that, too, but I replayed FC and it plays when you're against Kanone, and Richard, too, in the final dungeon. I just remember it being a very strange moment, that what was considered "Loewe's theme" to some degree, played during these other, much less threatening battles.
If Victor Arseid had been a character you had to fight in Sky it would've been acceptable for him, too. IIRC he's canonically the greatest fighter in Zemuria. Though during the events of Cold Steel he is surpassed by Aurelia Le Guin. I wouldn't want this playing in a fight against Aurelia. She doesn't have the gravitas necessary.
I refuse to lower the difficulty. Even when playing the poker mini game. I'm stubborn. I just had to spam my s-crafts and heal every chance I got. I wouldn't want the fight to be easy though. Wouldn't sit right with me.
Normally I'd say the same thing, but when Cassius kept beating the shit out of me for the 7th time (the last time was most intense I was spamming Kevin's sphere and got the boss to 25%) I just wanted to end it. Cassius's speed was the most annoying thing, I mean, I had 3 full hp party members, but buffed Cassius had freaking 3 moves in a row and completely K.O'ed them with his AOE. I know this boss is challenging but that was just riddiculous.
I really think the only weakness of the Sora no Kiseki trilogy is how unreplayable it is. I want to to replay it so much, but I kind of don't want to play through FC again, since I know I wont be able to fully feel what I first felt on my first play through, and to fully experience SC, you kinda have to play right after FC. At least that's how I first experienced it, and I'd put FC+SC in joint number 2 on my best games of all time list.

That s-craft is legendary when it comes to crowd control, Joshua with a Gladiator accessory outright trivializes all the little enemies (ads?) that bosses summon. Thematically speaking it also marks the point Joshua reaches 'true' Enforcer tier since he's finally able to produce those shadow clones that most Sky era Enforcers used (e.g. Loewe, Bleublanc, Luciola and Joshua but not Renne or Walter for some reason).

Some tips for the [SPOILERS]-fight in TC (at least on normal difficulty, but I imagine it can also be useful on hard and nightmare): Before the battle: - Fight (almost) every random encounter you face. I know it might sound boring when you merely want to continue the story, but you *will* need those EXP and sepiths; trust me! And it's definitively not fun being stuck at this battle, being underleveled. - Preparation is key! Get a proper orbment-setup you're comfortable with and which plays into the strength of each character. Earth Guard, Clock Up EX and basic healing-arts on 3 or even 4 characters are a must IMO. Cast 2, Forte and Crest can't hurt as well. The gems (Water-Gem, Wind-Gem etc.) as orbs are really useful and I'd say mandatory for that. I found raising evasiveness (the agility-stat) to be effective - giving you just this one extra turn to strike/(re)buff in case Cassius misses hitting a character. Evade 4 /Wind-Gem should suffice for that, not taking up too many slots. - Grind your characters in random encounters to have at least 100 CP; 200 is preferable - especially Kevin! Richard also is really helpful when having high CP. Activating the monument in the room before Cassius gives you more flexibility to heal, retreat and work on your preparations. - Cook some meals with great recovery-stats or even a strength/defence/speed-buff to use during battle. - Having some EP-balms and EP Cut on some (or all) characters is helpful too. - Have at least one character (usually Kevin or Kloe) being able to cast Thelas or even better Athelas, in case you lose 1 (or 2) party members during the fight. Having to physically run to a character to revive them really messes up the strategy described below and only wasted valuable time and turns (and also allows Cassius to attack and delay more than 1 character with his attack). I speak from painful experience here. Protect this healer at all costs! During the battle: - Ideally, you can start with Kevin as he gets to make a move before Cassius. Use Grail-Sphere immediately to get 2 Earth Guards on each character and buy yourself some time in this early stage. - My battle-positioning was a little bit too spread out, so I was dependent on 1) Cassius not using Lightning Flash immediately (as the knockback from Cassius' attack put one character just out of reach of Grail-Sphere; so I had to restart the battle) and 2) not targeting Kevin with Armour Rend to delay him. - Spread your characters across the battlefield - ideally in every corner of the map. Use the time Grail-Sphere got you for achieving this. This strategy will greatly reduce the efficiency and effectiveness of Lightning Flash, as Cassius can't hit 3 or 4 characters at once now. Rely on ranged support/attack through arts and crafts. Maybe some people have beaten him by relying on Earth Wall and the AoE-healing, but this wasn't a viable fighting-strategy for me. Also, Armour Rend will only hit 1, or 2 characters at worst this way, making it easier to recast Earth Guard. - Also use this extra time of not having to heal, by casting Clock Up EX on some characters. I preferred to have all 4 party-members buffed at some point not too long into the battle. It takes some time to set it up, sure, but when Cassius uses Qinlong to buff his strength and speed, he gets really, REALLY annoying; and you have to counteract this by having your own party-members buffed. Unfortunately, nerfing Cassius isn't possible to my knowledge (believe me, I tried), so this otherwise viable strat is out of the question for this fight. - Activate the Richard-cheat-code. Spam True Luminous Divider like crazy. (I think he gets 1 or even 2 extra turns afterwards, so that's helpful as well.) Ideally, Richard is buffed by Forte (or a dish). - If you want to get rid of Cassius' S-Craft for a while after having cast Grail-Sphere, use Richard and his consecutive attacks to build up Cassius' CP-meter. I found it pretty reliable and easily reproducible to force Cassius into using his S-Craft rather soon. This isn't mandatory however, I eventually bet him without this strategy (rather using Richard to buff my party-members). But it can make the battle more predictable and relaxed, knowing you don't have to worry about Phoenix-Wave in early and mid-battle. - Make absolutely sure every character is always protected by Earth Guard! Having activated Grail-Sphere and spread out characters makes it easier to recast Earth Guard as soon as a character gets attacked and the protection vanishes. Cassius can only attack one character at a time - use this to your advantage! - Use Athelas if things turn sour. Kloe, Kevin, Olivier and Renne should have a high EP-stat at this point in the game. I repeat: *Do NOT* have a character waste time having to walk to a KO'ed character to revive them and give Cassius an opportunity to attack them both - your characters are too spread out at this point. In case someone faints and you only have access to Thelas (making it far more likely that Cassius would only KO this revived character yet again), let Cassius go to another character before reviving him/her with Thelas. Alternatively, you may try to let Cassius focus on the revived character as a punching bag; KOing them, reviving them, letting Cassius KO them, reviving them again... This may work as well, but I haven't tried this strategy. - When going into the second half of mid-battle and into late battle, and you think a second Phoenix-Wave is building up, have all characters properly healed and ideally earth-guarded. Having raised defense-stats by Crest or a dish helps too. It's not the end of the world if one character doesn't survive the hit (as long as you have reviving-arts). This strategy might be cautious and the battle might take some time, but take note that time is not your enemy in this battle - Cassius' strength, speed and agility is! Therefore, reducing Cassius' advantages in this area should be your priority. If the battle takes 30 or 40 minutes this way, then so be it IMO. As long as you beat Cassius eventually, everything is fine. If I remember correctly, Cassius rarely (if ever) uses healing-arts, so he has no advantage of a lengthy battle and stalling you. However, with the preparation I described above, you can comfortably prolong the battle and stall Cassius and still continue to chip away his health. I hope these tips helped.

Cassius is not as monstruous as people claim. Heck, Aurelia herself is in such a level that she mastered both the Vander and Arseid schools of swordsmanship, making her potentially stronger than Victor Arseid. So yeah, Cassius is not as hype as fans pretend him to be. Cassius is,however,a devious tactician.
