      April and May are definitely my favorite time of year. Glad to hear you are tearing them up further east. Bite still is tough for pompano over here in Navarre/Pensacola but its only getting better and better. We were pumped to catch those Jacks! Take care and tight lines Joseph.

    That was killer! Was that a pomp rig you caught that Jack on?
    The Fishbites are clearly the bait of choice, along with sand fleas.
    What weight were you using? I hear 3 oz pyramids are usually the go to, but it looks like some folks are using 2 oz.
    Gonna be fishing in Destin/Miramar next month, and would appreciate any info on rigs, weights, etc.
    Thanks, dude! I love watching your vids!

    • @JustinReedFishing
      @JustinReedFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea it was caught on a Pompano rig. I was worried the whole fight it would break haha. I always throw the weight my rod throws the best and for mine thats either 3 or 4oz. For your Miramar trip I'd use Pompano rigs with floats, beads, and naked to see what the fish are preferring. For me lately fish are hitting the rigs with nothing on them. Lot of food is in the water so there isn't any competition for food so the fish are pickier on what they eat. You could also use a Carolina rig and fish it close to shore where whiting may be hanging out at. For bait shrimp, sandfleas, and fishbites will work. For weight I'd just go with whatever your rods throw best (typically the middle of the lure weight range of the rod). Hope you have a great trip and good luck!
